VPN Exceptions

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to use exceptions with the VPN hybrid but websites still report that the IP I'm connecting from is the VPN
I'm active on a few websites which disallow / block the use of VPN's so I need to be able to connect without the VPN showing.

Am I doing something wrong?
I've added the website into the hosts , same with the IP , yet when I go to whatsmyip.com it shows the VPN IP?

I'm using PIA if that helps at all.

client
dev tun
proto udp
remote aus.privateinternetaccess.com 1194
resolv-retry infinite
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
tls-client
remote-cert-tls server
auth-user-pass
comp-lzo

Hi Asentrix,

Sorry, missed you in the shoutbox :)

You definitely got the right device added? And what service are you using to test your IP?

I've checked a few websites , they all say that I'm using the VPN which is weird.
It's definitely the right device , not sure what the issue is

So say you check on www.whatismyip.com. Have you added the host name www.whatismyip.com to the exception?

Yes , added both the host and the IP , still shows the VPN IP

Any help?

Can you try rebooting the router, then when you add the exclusion, wait 5-10 mins then check to see what your IP is on whatismyip.com :)

Same result.

Would you be able to help over teamviewer?

Are you free tomorrow at all? I'm free after 4:00pm GMT so could help you out then? Just PM me if that's good.

Did you get this sorted Asentrix? :)

Yep :) with the recent firmware update , it seems to have ironed things out itself.

Thanks for the support!

Ok, nice :) I'll close this thread as it is sorted - feel free to make another one with anymore issues.
