AnonymousBleach Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Random question, but does anyone know if when putting in our paid ISP speeds, (Or what we should be getting.) Should we be putting in exactly what the Provider says we are getting, for example: 18mbps down/2 Mbps Up or is it better to run a speed test directly wired into the router and then use those speeds? someone please let me know if either really makes a difference!
AnonymousBleach Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 It's best to do the latter. So by latter are you saying go with the results from speedtest.net?
Dillinger Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Its best to get everything hooked up and then run something like speedtest.net in the same time frame where you would normally be gaming (i.e. after work during the week) and then input those numbers. If you want to play now and it's an non normal time for you, run it now and put in the numbers. But don't be afraid to run them again in a more "crowded" timeline like after dinner hours*. *The reason I recommend this is internet speeds on cable TV plant will vary based on number of users online no matter what your ISP tells you.
