A little help please.

The way forward

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a bit of help is required please.

I received the Netduma router on Monday just past. Set everything up nicely : BT modem - Netduma R1 - Xbox 360 (using an ethernet cable from router to Xbox).

Worked great on the day, no hassle playing the game, winning gun fights etc... second day, back to feeling 1 second behind everyone, 3rd day, i can't even seem to sign into Xbox live on Black Ops 2. I've rewired my old D-Link router and i can sign in fine.

Is there a reason for this? Do i need to change or open any ports?

Thanks in advance.

TWF.

Hi TWF,

Thanks for purchasing.

what version are you on? If you upgrade to the latest version .7b everything will be fine within 4 hours. Basically it takes 4 hours for cloud info to propagate.

In the mean time expand your geo-filter to the whole world when the game starts. Keep it there and go to the multiplayer menu. Then after a min reduce it to the size you want and start searching.

4 hours after upgrading everything will go back to normal :)

Please follow the upgrade instructions very carefully here: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/742-7-beta/

I can't comment on anything in game, what ping are you getting and how far are the hosts from you?

My ping is 31ms, with a download speed of 37mbps and an upload of 9mbps. I've set down and up to 70% on the Netduma as i read on here that someone recommended doing that. I've set the Geo-filter to 791km. Between 30-40 ms games.

TWF 30-40ms games are very good connections. Sorry but I can't diagnose any further. Don't mean to be rude but are only goal is to get you a low ping that is all. The lower the ping the better the game. 30-40ms is a very good ping.

Other customers have mentioned the following:

  1. Make sure your TV is in game mode if it has one as TV lag could be the cause
  2. They have found with lower ping you need to change your play-style because not only can you kill quicker you will also die quicker. The game is generally fairer

Hope that helps.

Ben, please in future start a new thread for a separate problem.

On the wired connection go to "Settings > Wifi" and make sure its enabled, has the network name you want and set the password to whatever you want. Hope that helps :)

Been playing the game for a few hours on and off, and i'm finding that there's no lag suffered my end, which is great, but i'm finding that i'm being insta-killed quicker than ever before. I don't feel on the same level playing field as other players. My player just feels to be moving so slow and i have to press the buttons so hard on my controller to even get him to run lol. This is all down to lag compensation i feel, but what i don't understand is, why did the game play so well the first day i connected the router, and now it just doesn't? I'm lost lol.

TWF it could just be the opponents you're getting. If your ping is the same you should be experiencing similar lobbies though. But again I can't comment on actual game play only quantitative metrics specifically ping.

For sure no worries, thanks for the help, appreciated. I'll play around with settings and report back for others if i can work something out.
