Ru2u
I see a lot of people who are using .7 disabling IPv6 in WAN & LAN so I decided to try it and see what effect it had, (I really don't know what it's supposed to do), and for some reason my Android Tablet lost its connection to the Internet but my Iphone didn't. When I re-enabled IPv6 my tablet connected fine again. Is that normal and can someone explain the benefit of disabling IPv6

Guest Netduma_Iain
IPv6 is new version of the Internet protocol. Its added for a variety of reasons but the main is IPv4 has a limited amount of IP addresses available I believe its like 3 billion actually available for non private networks & other esoteric use-cases. IPv6 adds loads of IP addresses.
abc123
in addition from a security standpoint it is awesome! right now you can literally scan the whole internet on amazon ec2 with multi-threading and spin-up load in <5 minutes. However, Amazon will block you for scanning the whole internet for all ports open...so you have to add delays and do it over the day. with IPv6 it would take much much much longer.
