Lag issues

Recommended Posts

I thought Netduma would magically fix my issues on COD AW, but so far it isn't. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, so I'll hope for help here. :)

I have a 75/5 connection, pulling about 65/4.6 while testing during my last gameplay. Every host is within 1000 km, but I still get lag and lag spikes. Massive at time. Completely freezes to the point of having me think my entire Xbox One is frozen at times. I'm on a full 4 bar too. I got rid of the other router I had connected just to test (Apple Time Capsule), and I'm still having the same issues. I'm pretty sure I set everything up ok. I followed a video on YouTube and I just don't see anything obvious I'm missing. Help! Definitely feel free to bring up or ask anything that I can give you info on, as far as settings and such. Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,

Firstly what version are you on? At the bottom of every page you should see a version. It probably says 1.02.2. I'd recommend you upgrade, the current public version is 1.02.6. If you can hold off a new version 1.02.7 is coming out very soon. This has many more features that can help fix most issues people have. Such as Internet diagnosistcs, connection resets, and new geo-filter features.

Onto your point, there could be a variety of things causing it. .7 will help us massively to identify it, but I'd say right now the most likely cause is that xbox live is having major issues. In fact its actually down(https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-live-status). This has been happening for last couple of days the worst hit area is NY, north east US.

It said 1.02.2 but it tells me this is the latest version when I go to upgrade.

Sure, sorry I've removed the basic upgrade feature completely. You'd need to upgrade using the advanced. I can give you instructions if you like or would you prefer to wait for the latest one?

Hi Jeremy its really late over here, I'll be heading off to sleep now. But abc is fantastic and I'm sure will be able to help massively. But unfortunately with xbl being down there is pretty much nothing we can do at the moment. Many people can't even sign in right now.

Ok, I've upgraded to 2.02.6 now. Should that potentially fix the issues or make it easier to figure out? I have congestion control at 78% with preemptive selected for my Xbox One. UPnP is enabled. Not sure if that helps any or not.

Yes that sounds good, just make sure on the geo-filter page to select "Strict Mode" please. Then set your distance between 800-1500km I suggest. If you leave near sea move your home so you cover land. No point wasting filtering space on the sea :)

But sorry to repeat myself but I don't think anything will help till xbl comes back up.

My connection is 17 down and 14 up my filter is set within 1000 km,but I'm still experiencing very laggy games. What do you guys suggest I do??

What firmware version are you on and what ping are you getting to the host on these games? Is strict mode on? Where are you based?

We need some more info to help. Perhaps a screenshot of the geo-filter page when you are in a laugh game to start with.
