Say I wanted to play Modern Warfare 2. There is a hacker in there ( as usual). I wanted to block that player. Is there a way to? Also, would this be an unsavory act? Many titles that are near and dear to our hearts are plagued by this filth. Whether DDoSing, or any other various acts of shite.

Is there a possibility?

Yes, if you can find his IP you can add it to the deny list.

I don't know yet whether this router would allow that (i don't think it wants to expose connected IPs for fear of DDoS'ing them from you).

If it doesn't then you would need to monitor your Xbox/PS with a monitoring tool and then guess at which IP is his (bytes received).

There is a slight caveat though. For some games such as AW the player could still join the game. He just wouldn't be host.

Indeed, in my block scenario you'd get kicked from the game (using other block technologies).

I think this should work for him though since most of these hacks force you to host.

Hi abc123, it looks like the XIM forums are moving in :D

Imagine being able to go back to COD4, and setting the filter by distance to pretty much local.

Having this set so low would cut the work load down, then proceed to block as many "host hackers" as possible.

It wouldn't be a 100% fix, but it would cut out a lot of the kind of hacks that are injected my infectious hosts.

I remember on x360 joining a lobby and shooting one person, at that point i gained what seemed like infinite XP.

I left the game and when i tried to search for another my "playlist" was blacked out.

I couldn't so much as search for a game. My COD4 on x360 was rendered unplayable.

Sad times.

On MW2, they actually make themselves a server. I have tweeted pics of messages (errors) from them stating various things. Also, I play MW2 a lot. I pretty much know who a bunch by name. I wish you guys could create a way to "ban" malicious acts through this router. Say... if someone is trying to "push" packets that are not legitimate commands. Whuch sometimes, I see people removed from the game because they "Lost Reliable Commands ".
