I have previously always tried to ensure my console connection settings are the best possible settings and would really appreciate your advice. The first is regarding the consoles primary and secondary dns. I have used a prog called dns benchmark and set them to the 2 fastest. Is this advisable? Second is mtu, i have read that if your using a wired connection your mtu should be set to 1492 to prevent fragmentation? Any advice regarding this is greatly appreciated. Buds Posted January 23, 2015 Share Posted January 23, 2015 1) DNS has no impact on console gaming so changing them is up to you. Also doesn't hurt anything so if you feel it's better then rock on. 2) MTU can vary by ISP and connection type (PPPoA and PPPoE). I'd recommend setting at your ISP requirement and leaving alone.
