Fuzy
This topic is to introduce you to the nPerf speed test application: -First, why use an application rather than a speed test via a browser on your device: using an application allows you to consume less CPU resources (Processor) which allows you to obtain better results that are closer to your ISP speeds. (Example: a CPU-limited device for the test. "Low-end or old PC") -Second, why do we offer you this application rather than the Ookla application: this application allows you to select your type of test internet (IPv4 or IPv6 server test). "Ookla, for example, prioritizes the use of IPv6 on PCs for example, this is due to Windows". What is the use? : Some ISPs offer an IPv6 encapsulated in IPv4 (false IPv6). To put it simply, you will get mediocre results compared to an IPv4 test. By selecting your test server manually (IPv4 or IPv6) this will allow you to understand the usefulness or not of activating IPv6 on your routers/devices. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Test performed in multiserver on a symmetrical 8Gbps ISP line with a native IPv6: Enregistrement 2025-02-07 172720.mp4 Nota : Keep in mind that using IPv6 is not a guarantee of performance for online gaming (unless someone proves me otherwise), most use NAT, which rules out IPv6... -------------------But why online gaming doesn't use IPv6? ---------------------- -First because IPv4 is the best time to get statistics about its users "VPN" (IPv6 is much more opaque/secure...) "-Second because not everyone has access to IPv6..."
