BreedSuccess
Hello, Thanks to Crossy, just hooked up the VPN through the router earlier today and it is running great. Question: Do I need to do anything special while setting up the Playstation 4 network, like static IP Subnet DNS etc., or can I just select the easy setup Network>Lan cable>automatic process? In other words, will the router automatically hide my PS4 IP address when connected to the VPN? Question 2: To keep my IP hidden while playing the PS4 console online, does my computer have to be connected to the VPN also or just the PS4? (edit: only worried about the people I am connecting to on the PS4) Thanks, -Breed
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted June 25, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted June 25, 2015 Hi Breed Question 1: No, you shouldn't have to do anything special. Some people change their DNS if they are using the VPN to be anonymous but if you just want to hide your IP then this won't be necessary. You can just leave everything as automatic on the PS4. Question 2: If your just worried about people getting your IP from in the game then just use the PS4. If you want to make sure people can't get your IP from Skype or dodgy links that you might click then put it on your PS4 as well. Dodgy like and Skype are only usually a problem for big streamers who are bigger targets. But you said you're worried about who you connect to on the PS4 so just having the PS4 enabled should be fine. Hope that helps - if you have anymore questions please ask
