Printer Not showing up in Device Manager on XR500

Hi,

 

I have a Samsung 680ND printer connected to the XR500 via ethernet.  The printer does not show up in the Device Manager.  The XR500 is set to "Use the Router as a DHCP server".  The Samsung printer is set to ask for a fixed ip (within the DHCP range).  My laptop is also connected via ethernet and shows up in the device manager.  I can type the printers IP Address into the brower and connect to the printer.  Why is my printer missing from the XR500 device manager?
