thanks for the insider infos, the person whos in charge for the public communication at netduma should be send back to school, ive rarely seen such an incompetente company communication
making an announcement to go full software side would harm exactly no one and would hardly affect the sales too

i mean removing the R1 statement from the homepage with no additional info on that?
no clue how such a person could get into a leadership role at netduma or how the people above could think thats a good strategy lol

either way, ill visit this forum in a few weeks or month again and expect exactly 0 progress until then, pretty sure netduma can at least meet my expectations in that regard

Someone with a weak argument always goes after the other person rather than their argument.

They broke their promise of end of april release aswell as their few weeks is all it will take lie. This company has 0 good will. Half of the other options in the router are not functioning properly for users, except for mods that is - they have higher iqs so everything works fine for them.

A lie is a lie and they should be called out for it. People who visit the forums must know what they are throwing their hands into.

cool it works for a mod, i wonder how many users it doesn't work for them no matter how many times we ask for configuration, it always glitches up and stops working.

It doesn't work for me properly as well. Please stop pretending that all these things are always user configuration faults. They aren't. VPN doesn't work for me properly for over a half year after several changes on PIA side.

Same for titofuenla, it's not that we are too dumb to configure our router. It's just that not all features are supported with high bandwidth lines. And with the advertisement wording of "unlock the full potential of the R1 for the first time with DumaOS" maybe some are hoping that this limitation might not exist in DumaOS but I personally don't hold my breath to be true.

Here's the situation, I have no problem with my R1, it usually does what I ask it to, dumaos might be better, but I don't know. I do have a problem with being lied to though, and that is what is happening here. I am a patient man, but the childlike, lack of communication is leaving kind of a bad taste in my mouth.~ there I vented~

My thought entirely. If you are deleting posts that in you opinion have false information then why has the very first post in this thread by Netduma Luke not been deleted?. I quote "It should take, at absolute most, a few more weeks. Nothing more as we have everything else working"
If the goal posts have moved then give me one reason why we havent been updated.

I disagree. Just because a Mod leaves some posts up that put Netduma and its associates  in a unfavorable light, does not mean some people aren't being suspended for voicing opinions. I saw the forum rules and from what I'm seeing  these guidelines are being used as an excuse to silence those who are the most adamant about being led on about upgrades for R1 that never were fulfilled. I refer to them as broken promises. Regardless, I have seen more Mod abuse to those who post in these forums than the reverse.

Again if anything is obvious, its how horrible we have been treated by Netduma and its associates. I didn't see in the forum rules that someone couldn't publicly call out a Mod for an action they have taken against them. If a Mods actions were justified there should be nothing to hide. A suspension or a banning is a public action IMO, I dont feel that questioning it publicly is a
punishable offense either. There shouldnt be anything to hide.

It should be , but it wasn't in my case. I cant see how I got suspended recently. My last post is still up so I cant see how I broke any rules if the post was deemed unacceptable yet I received a ban right after posting none the less. Pretty inconsistent if you ask me.

I looked over this before I posted, and it seems to fall within the guidelines of acceptable posts. I am voicing my opinion and explaining why I feel this way. Its my response. It does not accuse any Mod directly of the behavior described above. I believe I can voice my opinion without punishment, which is all Im doing.

This is the first forum I've been to where forum mods are allowed to down talk to paying users, its really astonishing. It's also an indicator on how the company itself deals with customers. Really the bare minimum in every aspect. 200$ burned while buying the r1.

Unfortunately old posts are not their in my profile or I would've. They were wiped for some reason.

Also why do you think its okay for someone who mods this forum to belittle our arguments about the broken promises that Netduma made?

It's basic phycology, you guys are doing it.

It's no different if you are an official employee or not, you function as one.

The case in this post is that netduma has been breaking its promise regarding a upgrade for a longtime.

The frustration comes from a suggestions sub forum that is completely pointless that is based on the misconception that netduma can adapt to games.

The furustration comes from a half working vpn mediator.

To me this is not even worth putting in an effort for a full post.

Whoever is supposed to represent " Netduma ", review your business model.

There is a reason I stopped offering my support after 150 posts.

Here is a advice, stop belittling customer frustration,

Im new to these forums so I dont know every statement Netduma has made about the R1 and DumaOS. What I do know is that back in early April . on the product page, it clearly stated that Duma OS would be available by the end of that month. The fact this was stated on the product page, the page where you click the "add to order" button to get the R1, the update is part of the product and should be honored without question. The debate about not promising anything and being free is BS when your putting **DumaOS will soon be launched as a free upgrade for all Netduma R1 users* as it stated now , or whatever it said previously relating to the R1.

Beisides , nothing is free in reality. When your selling something you cant say that your going to give me something later at no charge when its ready and then not give it to me. Your making a sale under false pretenses. Thats bad business.

Secondly , NetDuma seems to have issues with informing us of these delays in a timely manner. It makes the situtation worse than it should be. Im sorry but I would not consdier buying another Netduma or any netgear product if they cant come through with at least an announcement in the next few days.

So Netduma Luke its been a few weeks +1. Can you do us the honor and kindly tell us what is going on ?

Lol at all the netduma Kool aid drinkers. People are upset about false promises, missed deadlines, no new up dates.
Plus you have no idea who bought the R1 thinking the Duma OS was coming.
TBH, i think netduma should give a Full refund to any customers who bought the R1 after the announcement of the dumaOS if they wanted one.

I mean let's say you bought a house with free flooring upgrades, but then when you moved you realize you have the standard carpet, linoleum tile. Are you going to be happy then or even 2 years down the road when you have not received your "free upgrade"?

It's highly possible that the Duma OS were people's deciding factor when choosing to buy New router.

Anyway you guys need to understand what people are really complaining about.
I guarantee you if netduma said the Duma OS was not coming to the R1 when it was first announced no one would be complaining about it any more.

I still can't believe the amount of shade I'm seeing thrown at frustrated customers in this thread. I understand that not everybody is disappointed or upset about this, but maybe we shouldn't be so quick to belittle other paying customers who were promised something by a company, and that company ultimately failed (multiple times in relation to this SINGLE update) to deliver on its promise. I know things go wrong during development. I know things change last minute. I know a lot of stuff has to be re-planned. However, I also know that it's important to keep your customers in the loop. Make us part of the conversation.

For example, I posted prior to this update thread (in the shoutbox) asking if DumaOS was still scheduled for release. Maybe a day or two later, this thread was posted. There were people in the shoutbox who still believed it was scheduled for that day. Why? Nobody said otherwise until last minute. That's not keeping us in the loop. People assume no news is good news and we all figured things were going as planned. To drop a thread like this mere hours/days prior to a scheduled release is the exact way to turn your loyal customers against you. If you want loyalty from us, be loyal to us. Tell us if you think plans are changing as soon as you know. This was clearly not what happened this time around. It's a damn shame, too.

Also, to all of the people who are sitting here bashing on individuals who are like me and feeling a little burned by this, you gain nothing by blindly supporting every action a company makes. As salty as that statement sounds, it's true. People are not upset without reason here. It's not like NetDuma came back and said "Hey, guys. We've sent out an automatic update to the R1 to change the fonts we used in the UI and making the Host Filtering map smaller". Like, that would be trivial, and people who were enraged would look like idiots. No, this is a situation where the community was promised something (or at least told they were getting something), and then they were told they weren't getting it... last minute. They have every right to be mad. Are some of them taking it too far? Maybe. Does that make their frustration invalid? No. Imagine you were promised a raise a work, so you were patient and waited until the day was nearly upon you... then your boss comes in and is like "Nah. We gave it to Netgear instead."

Nothing is free, the hardware only costs $70 to buy - I'm sure it was cheaper in bulk - and I bought the R1 at $240 years ago... That's paying $170 for software that hasn't been upgraded in 3 years that doesn't work properly.

Wait until when? Until I am a grandpa?? Until everyone has 1Gbps standard internet speeds? Every day that passes the R1 hardware gets more and more to its EOL cycle. Some people including me already have the issue that R1 has a hard time to handle our full line speeds. And as well to consider that back then before 2 years that promised and in short should be released DumaOS made the decision for me to buy the R1 as I wasn't fully convinced with the actual OS which I tested before buying at my friends R1. I repeat myself but there are enough reasons why there is not much room left anymore for waiting and further delaying.

So in 15 hours since last posting there is nobody with any suggestions as to changing different settings?

This is the only port of call for support right or am I missing something, do I need to post on Twitter to get help?

So far there's a lot of claims advertised by this company, and I'm yet to see any benefit, in fact all I've seen is error screens and a geo filter that doesn't work, the only things it does seem to offer already exist in most routers via bandwidth limiting and QoS adjustments per device.

    For a $300AUD product that's beyond mediocre.

AlsaibaiH reacted to Ellert in Not what i expected for Destiny
I have a Nedduma since a bit over a week, and have used it for about 3 hours.
It is now back in its box, as i lack the will to spend more time on dicking around in the interface and restarting destiny for 600 times.

    The issues are the following:
The interface is overwhelming and messy, and does not work very well on any browser under osx.
Destiny on PS4 craps out constantly, and if it does, it kicks me back to the loading screen. Something with doing a 'cloud update' has scrolled past in these forums, no idea what or how, or why, nor why it takes so long to insert a couple ip addresses in a central whitelist or have the router record the ip adresses it encounters. And YES i want it to do deep packet inspection if that will automate this.
The geoip filter is a charming idea, but not very usefull. I dont care where players are from, as long as they are not skipping around like laggy timelords.
Ping based filtering would be a lot more usefull, if it would work propperly.
    -  the measured numeric pingtimes do not correspond with the graph
    -  pingtimes should use a running average to prevent disnconnection after a spike, or have some threshold to retain them after an initial triage at first connect. It is not clear if and how this is done.
    -  the bars in the graph change color all the time
    -  there is no log of the actual ip's, nor a relation to the graph
    -  there is no way to whitelist my laggy friends from closeby or the non-laggy friends that live on the other side of the earth.
    -  i dont see any indication or measure of the devil of all ping problems: packetloss

And last but not least: a clear and not too hard to follow step by step instructional document or video of how to set things up and tune them for specific purposes (in my case: "how to set up the netduma if you have a provider-bound router that can not be disabled", and "the best settings for destiny") would somewhat compensate for the lack of a proper manual and the jumble of an interface.
