ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from azza10 in Original R1 is better than XR500 DUMAOS
Because that’s probably not the real issue that has you frustrated. Have tou seen Battlenonsense’s video on BO4?! Im guessing bc you used the term 5kd that youre upset with the way COD is broken right now. We’ve been treyarch’d once again lol
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to DollaB1ll in XR500 doesn’t perform well on BO4
California ID d8c7ecb764776f74 ... ping 17ms
I’m in Michigan
This router making my game play worst. The gunplay, hit detection, the movement. How I get a ping of 17ms to Cali servers but a 33 ms ping to Chicago servers? Played with the edgerouter x yesterday with no issues at all. Played with the Netgear x4s this morning no issues either only on this router. I’m probably going to return the XR500.
ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from BiggShooter in 18.104.22.168 DNS
Ok then know it all, do me this little test and you tell me if you could notice a distinct improvement. Use your ISP’s DNS servers manually on an xbox console and check the detailed network statistics. Then test using cloudflare’s 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199. I bet that 9/10 people notice a 20-30 second decrease in latency. Care to explain that Mr WorldWideWeb expert!?!
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Gouldin in Upnp issue
Well, I could do. But as I specify on the qnap which ports to be available, I shouldn't have to.
Any other devices on my home network I don't care about security wise so upnp is a decent fit for me.
That and I can't be bothered to port forward 10 different consoles or when relatives pop around. Doing IT for a living. I don't take my work home with me
ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Does DumaOS support Nintendo Switch
After pulling up a bunch of videos and checking them I have the best possible solution for now. Nintendo switch has a usb 3.0 port on the dock but the main hub hasn’t had the coding upgrade yet to run more than about 25up and 10 down. For now it’s better to use WiFi on the xr500 with the Switch. In the Switch’s Setting I turned off all the news pages it makes you follow automatically and switched it to airplane mode and only enabled WiFi, less internal bandwidth used on non necessary things the more for the downloads. I reserved my IP for my switch and set it as the DMZ which helped a bit and after googling tons of videos I decide to try using Googles DNS on the Switch itself and got another steady increase. It’s pulling around 45 down and 25 up, nowhere near the speeds I’m capable but that the max I’ve been able to see, for now. For any faster download speeds on the Nintendo Switch, gotta wait for a few more firmware updates from Nintendo...
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to RiotControll in Give us the option to perma ban servers in Duma OS
I would like to have this option because some servers in COD like the one in the Netherlands are simply lag machnines. If I would have the option I would perma ban it immediately.
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Netduma Iain in XR500 DumaOS Ping Graph Bug
Firstly thanks for purchasing the xr500.
We are aware of this. It's not really a bug but rather bad design. When you pin, you pin the ping to that particular host.
We are going to push firmware update soon that has auto ping on the dashboard ping panel. So it changes the target based on the host.
Hope that makes sense
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Dilly Dilly in XR500 DumaOS Ping Graph Bug
Just purchased the XR500. I am still figuring it out, but it seems to be a good product. One bug that I have noticed is that if the Geofilter Ping Graph is pinned to the dashboard, the ping graph will not change no matter what host it is connected to. It will only show the first host that it connects to, and will not change even if the host connection changes. The ping graph works as expected on the Geofilter tab and will update depending on the host that you are connected to.
ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Chat/ connection lag
All you need to do to fix that problem is disable the SIP ALG in your wan settings on the XR500. After you disable it, power cycle all of your equipment and you should be good to go.
If you pull up the question mark on that page it clearly tells you that if your having trouble with chat feature to disable it...
ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Some DumaOS/Netgear issues
Sure thing, for the first console I use 80-81, 88, 443 and for the second one I use 8008, 8080-8081, 8088, 8443, 8888. I know there are a few extras but from what i looked up on IANA they seem to be the alternate ports to the alternates of the main ports. Oh and make sure to set both consoles up with static ips (through R1) and manually set them on your consoles to match the static IPs you put on the R1. Also, be sure to have your main Xbox ported not just from 3074, but 3074-3076(will save you time if you play COD), and manually set the xbox port on your 2nd xbox with one of the 50000 ports and add that to the port forwarding rules on the R1 for the 2nd console. After everything pulls up right on both consoles and you have proper connectivity, power cycle all you equipment and enjoy! Let me know how it works out on the R1?
P.S. I use the geo-filter, placed in the center of america with 1400-1600 miles(make sure to get the east and west coast servers) with strict mode enable. Stops the punks from china from jumping in the same lobby and making the ping shoot to over 150ms.
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Netduma Iain in Cant access DumaOS interface
I see you're a fellow techie. Our roadmap includes 'fortified UPnP' which will help with the security issue. I'm asking about an early access programmer for new DumaOS versions on XR500. Make sure to keep an eye out if you wish to be on the bleeding edge DumaOS.
Back to the original poing, unless your behind a router (not a modem) then UPnP forwarding is not necessary mate. Hope that helps
Also please check your dms Crispy

ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Netduma Iain in Some DumaOS/Netgear issues
Have you got the R-App not loaded issue right now?
If so the easiest way to fix it is to hard reset. You do that by gettiing a thin object and pushing it in the hole at the back of the router. Keep pushing for 20 - 30 seconds ( its a longer than you think ). Then release and let the machine start. Do not turn it off.
Does this fix the issue?
Also do you remember what you did to bring it back? One thing to remember, if you've restarted your router and go immediately to the ui you'll get r-app not loaded on the Geo-Filter as it takes 2 mins to start
Hope that helps
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Netduma Iain in XR500 & LINSKY Combo
DumaOS in access point mode disables the main features as it is not routing anymore.
I'd highly recommended not using the linksys or lede. Any rumours on this forum about lede/cake are placebo in my opinion. BB only matters when others are using the network and the xr500 has you covered at all speeds with zero software jitter.
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to XSXS in Possiblity of older Nighthawk models getting DumaOS firmware???
I would be shocked if NG released the FW to be installed on other NG models. They would lose sells on the XR500. The XR500 is basically the R7800 night hawk with the Duma OS installed in it SI I doubt they would
I wonder if NG would have been better off on releasing the Duma OS on all their Night hawk routers for a premium? Meaning night hawk owners would have the option to purchase the firmware for $XX amount of dollars?
ExtraCrispy86 got a reaction from patlem74 in Netduma question.
Not only switch to sliders but give the PC you are gaming on 50% -70% of the upload and download percentage on the "flower" sliders. Make sure to turn off the extra bandwidth function for the upload and download.
But to answer the original question, yes it should help play on it while streaming on another.
ExtraCrispy86 reacted to Netduma Jack in DumaOS - Development Update
Hey, welcome to the forum. We'll be rolling out extra security and content filtering features after we launch DumaOS - since the framework of the new software allows us to develop features so quickly, we'll be able to add features like port-blocking really easily. Thank you for the suggestion.
