think I'll just get a replacement, if not, where can I find upgrades for antennas
-
tested all options, still getting packet loss
-
no
-
Packet loss did continue on the 2.4GHz band; I had it disabled because I don't use it.

did some digging apparently there is a bug with windows 11 where the wifi options sometimes dont show and even tho they do it dooesnt connect to the internet, the only solution i have tried is restarting my pc everytime i want to connect to the network, i tested fortnite over the wifi i still get packet loss but not as much compared to when im connected to the Asus extender by Ethernet. wifi adapter model: Realtek 8852BE Wireless LAN WIFI 6 PCI-E NIC Ethernet adapter: Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller, I'm testing on my laptop, Asus Tuf A15 2024.

Channel recommendations are 1 and 44 which i had it set to before i switched it a couple of days ago, adjusted antennas to match what youve suggested. made sure that there are no electrical devices around the router, is in an elevated position. packet loss continues
-
I haven't messed with the channels much, although a couple of days ago I did change the channel once: the 2.4GHz from auto to 1 and 5GHz, 44 to 48. Although this was just blind, i did not use wifi analyser. in will now attempt what you have suggested. Well no i haven't added any new devices since it was just me and a couple of my devices on the network, i haven't moved the router, and i think we did get new neighbours.

Ive connected my laptop directly into the XR1000 for testing i get 0 packet loss when playing games, it must be a wifi issue? i still can't connect to the network via wifi i did switch the mide to 2400, Update: managed to connect to the xr1000s wifi i had to be right next to it to connect to it, i can confirm it is the wifi that is causing the packet loss issue, tested on the game, tested on speed test running a ping plotter test now.
-
Packet loss persists, adjusted CC again, 98% up and 34% down. there is packet loss basically every single hop shown in top right ish . Even in speed test it says i get packet loss, can vary from 0.2 to 5 %
-
ah, but i get lower ms when upload is set to 99%
-
Sorry what do you mean? not too technical
-
yes i mean auto set up. I have tested a range of settings for congestion control from 95% down to 30% for both upload and download. The auto settings are by far the best settings for me, yes, I have all devices connected to XR. With other settings, I got 20ms plus for both down and up. I have smart wifi off, never used it, I will try what you have recommended

Test conducted for 10 Min, with congestion control turned on , using automatic settings, with insane Ping spikes and packet loss , also shown on buffer bloat test

i have connected most of my devices to the EE router. The congestion control is on, I have tried using traffic prioritisation, which did not change anything, i am still getting huge spikes in game.
-
i doubt not using congestion control or traffic prioritisation would be causing the issue because everything was the way it was before the packet loss issue started.

I tested Ethernet and wifi on my EE its perfectly fine, no packet loss. But like I said, I've tried the way you have stated: "The last time i tried connecting everything to the XR my family complained that thier devices either connected and got no internet, which is a problem i am also facing, or simply got kicked off the internet randomly. "
-
Like i mentioned, everything was working fine before, i got 0 packket loss and the set up was perfect for me all i need the router for is geo filter, The last time i tried connected everything to the xr my family complained that thier devices either connected and got no internet, which is a problem i am also facing, or simply got kicked off the internet randomly.

Note, this did not happen a month ago, and I did not change anything.

It spikes up to 15-20% packet loss sometimes, i dont play casually, i play competitively so this is a big deal for me, this is just a website i found online by Looking up "fortnite packet loss test" but my main source os measurement is in game stats whjere every second i am getting packet loss it is NEVER on 0 i usually get 4% -5% rarely under 3 and sometimes over 10. Nothing is happening on the network, I am the only one connected to it. Media bridge mode is when traffic is directly forwarded to the xr, the extender doesn't create a separate network. Yes my setup is ee router, xr1000, asus extender via bridge mode, then pc by Ethernet. The extender is connected to xr via wifi 6. I have put the xr1000 in dmz mode on the EE. Most of my devices are connected to EE router so xr is not congested. i pay for 300 up and 45 down, i have set those speeds on my router, i have set up congestion control that is working fine. i dont touch bandwith allocation as i had some problems with that in the past

Insane packet loss when playing any game. I mostly play Fortnite. This started last month. I tried resetting the route, but nothing worked. I tried different cables. I do have an Asus extender connected to the xr1000 via bridge mode my pc is fed into the port on the extender. Note this has never happened before and just occurred on its own. I have also tried flashing update and rollin g back to a different update. i also get a higher ping on average compared to connecting to my EE router's Wi-Fi.

Geo filter and heatmap not working.
