  1. Thanks Fraser. If you don’t mind indulging me further I wanted to ask you some stuff about my net Duma os feature set in EE. Does geo filter in EE do steady ping at all? 1.It says in tutorial that geo filter will stabilise ping when connected. 2. When connecting to a server it says ‘connecting to host, once connected we will stabilise your connection.’ 3. Sometimes it’ll say the server can’t be ping ‘but don’t worry this won’t affect your gameplay’. 4. When the server can be ping it’ll show a graph with a ping and a stability rating which usually sits at 99/100 percent, but when the server has a paddy like in DMZ/mwz (mw3 zombies) the ping can spike from 7 to 40ms and the graph will drop to 92-79 percent stability but quickly recovers. 5. I’ve seen steady ping examples on R3, where there’s like an extra line after the ping but this doesn’t appear in ee, so I was wondering if that’s just ui and if EE uses this or something similar or if it’s not part of the feature set? I’ve asked EE, but they’re not all well trained on your knowledge base. And sometimes mention ping optimiser, which I believe is a different feature right?
  2. Hey Thanks for letting me know. Do I need to do anything or just wait for the team to update?
  3. Hi, I use netduma os via my ISP EE - they call it ‘WiFi Enhancer’. So you have 3 modes: Game mode, Work Mode and Streamer mode. Net Duma picks up traffic what device is being used and for what activities, and automatically boosts it. I manage to have my ROG be game boosted. I then added it to the geo filter and selected call of duty. It never seems to work when call of duty is up. The feature can work as I manage to get Fortnite to be boosted and use geofilter. I don’t really play Fortnite, I play call of duty - Fortnite was used as a test, and in call of duty ROG can get packet burst when on high ping servers. I have ps5 also, call of duty works flawlessly with game boosted mode and geo filter so I don’t why Rog isn’t. The Rog is Rog ally extreme Z1 handheld pc/handheld console cpu/gpu apu. I was wondering if anyone in community has had similar situation and if they’ve manage to find a way around/past this barrier.
  4. I will go ahead and purchase it. All my concerns have been answered. I spoke to BT they give me the sign in details earlier today and they said it should work fine. I will keep the smart hub in case things go wrong as they said I can plug it back in and their hub will just work. So I have fall back method. They told me if R3 doesn’t work out, they can move me over to EE which has Net Duma in their router, but couldn’t tell me how much control I would have over geo, seeing my connection to server and stability etc. If I have any issues should I reply to this topic or create a new one?
  5. I had spoken to BT Support early today they said the same. I did ask them about the vlan thingy as I read somewhere I would have to configure it, but they said my ONT will handle that. I am grateful for the help and information
  6. Thanks, for providing that information. Am I right to assume, the R3 doesn’t do PPPoE in hardware it does in software on its cpu hence the speed reduction? If this is the case by using the features ping steady, ping assist, geo and smart boost I won’t be handicapping my R3 or crippling it with the PPPoE, like steady ping and smart boost will still work well?
  7. I am grateful for the Sunday response. I am planning on talking to BT this week too, so I should able to get that info from them. Can the R3 be used by connecting it to ONT can the bt smart hub does or does it need to go via smart hub? In terms of speed I’m thinking 25 mb for each family member if they watching 4k. Then for me, my internet requirements isn’t high as you pointed out gaming doesn’t use much.
  8. Hi, I am buying an R3 this week and I want to ensure my current setup is going to work with it and what information I need to get from my ISP. I’m with BT full fibre (FTTP) with an ONT plugged into my current router the isp provided smart hub 2. I get 1GB down, 120mb up. I believe BT uses PPPoE. Will I need to get any information on this from them or not? I have two family members who stream Netflix/Prime/Apple TV separately and because their rooms are distanced from the router We are using a deco mesh network. A parent plugs into a regular Ethernet port on the router and then broadcast a boasted signal to 2 other mesh stations. It’s only 100 up and down, will it be possible to still use this with the R3? My gaming device uses Ethernet. Will I also have any reduction in speed, I currently see varied speed, but avg around 880-920. Will this be lower on R3? I am not super tech savvy but I am somewhat competent, so when comes to stepping up the router can it be done via WiFi or do you need a hard wire? As my laptop doesn’t have a Ethernet port.
