I'm willing to try, what is the latest fw attempting to improve/change? Im on OS version 4.0.402 & app version 4.0.142

I understand the technical distinction, but regardless of terminology, I experienced lag on my prioritized device despite having plenty of bandwidth. For context, I have a similar setup to @theblureffect but with higher capacity (1Gbps down/35Mbps up), with one device prioritized and no additional rules. Even with congestion control at 85/65, I experienced issues last night while downloading a game at 50Mbps. While I'll try adjusting the congestion settings to be more aggressive, I'm skeptical this will solve the problem since prioritization doesn't seem to be working as intended under minimal load. Unless this improves, I may need to switch back to the XR1000 which handled bandwidth management more effectively. In my mind the only real way to prevent saturation in all scenarios will be some form of bandwidth reservation. I would love to have this option, even if it mean disabling other features. For what it's worth, it's difficult to recommend this device seeing the failure to handle one of its primary selling points 😕 and I had a few in my small community asking me what hardware I run with. I just tell them "any router with QOS" instead of "Netduma R3", which pains me thinking this is now $250 wasted.

My server is set to top priority is what I meant by x5. Congestion control is setup to reserve some bandwidth, yes. Ping optimizer was also previously ran before this outcome. We are not talking about bufferbloat though, just smart boost not boosting where it should in realtime. Not even congestion control did its job. I tested this by simply uploading a video to youtube from a non-prioritized device while a small group of users were connected to the server. They experienced high ping throughout the duration of the upload.

@Netduma Fraserfor visibility Am I assuming correctly that it dynamically reserves? As in, it only reserves when it detects/triggers with activity requiring the bandwidth reserved? II literally watched a PC—not prioritized—devour every byte of my upload during a video upload - like every bit my ISP gives me meanwhile my prioritized server was left in its wake. My experience with SmartBOOST hasn't been as effective as I had hoped. As a self-hoster running a medium-sized game server, I've configured it as the sole priority x5 device. However, whenever someone streams or uploads a video, my server still experiences significant high ping issues. While I appreciate the flexibility of cherry-picking ports for reserve, I'm bothered that I can't select both TCP & UDP for the same range. What would be really SMART is the option to have SmartBOOST reserve bandwidth of ports that are already port forwarded. I found the old bandwidth reservation system more straightforward and effective for my needs. The direct approach felt more reliable. Am I missing something in my setup? Should I be adding every device to SmartBOOST to see better results?

Just wanted to follow up, I came back to the R3 because of the sweet OS4 software. Ended up setting up a DDNS updater service in docker for my server btw, I ran into my first bump in the road with it 😕

I've recently encountered an issue where two devices connected to my network—one wired and one wireless—were unable to access the internet. They appeared to be connected to the network just fine but couldn't reach any external sites or services. One of them happened yesterday; a wired windows desktop. We tried renewing their IP, which gave us DHCP offer error, and we also tried restarting the device and resetting netsh and disabled IPV6 on the host machine. Restarting router worked and I did not thoroughly review logs Looking at my logs for todays single occurrence: My sons chromebook successfully requested and received the IP address. However, shortly after, the logs show repeated errors like RTNETLINK answers: No such process and "Network is unreachable," indicating issues with maintaining a stable connection. Rebooting the router worked after we attempted restarting the chomebook and forgetting/reconnecting its Wi-Fi. While other devices on the network are functioning fine, the router's logs suggest potential problems with internal routing or managing this device states. No notable changes occured before these incidents came up. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve this? Thank you for your timely response Fraser. Although I was hoping for more confidence in such a request, I'll have to seek an alternative. I believe the XR1000 from Netgear has DDNS alongside DUMA OS 3.0. I'm currently browsing their site to confirm this.

New customer here. Decided to try the R3 and was surprised to find no DDNS feature. I kind of just assumed how modernized this router was that it was just going to have it. This is a dealbreaker for me, I need DDNS for hosting purposes. I might have to return and try something else.
