Hi @Netduma Admin I took a look at the release notes for the new update. But couldn't find specifically something I was curious about. Does the cpu fix mean that the adressed higher pings in speedtests and in games will be like it's 'supposed' to be? Also what's the status on the ping optimizer as it still seems down for me?

Netduma R3 Ping Optimizer has encountered a problem
Leidsy replied to Leidsy's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Hear that! Thanks for the heads up -
So I connected my R3 again and now I suddenly can't do the ping optimizer. I tried restarting and even factory resetting but nothing seems to work...

Is there any idea when this fw update will be released? Had to shelve my R3 for this reason as my other router has a 'normal' ping for me. Even though the software and test results are in favor of the r3. It made my gameplay feel a lot worse.

Higher base ping on speed tests and COD with the R3
Leidsy replied to Leidsy's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Fraser said he was hoping later this week. But things can always turn out to take longer. At the end of the day I'd rather let them take their time to fix it instead of rushing a new update with other bugs XD -
Higher base ping on speed tests and COD with the R3
Leidsy replied to Leidsy's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Yeah probably. Its just a shame because my bufferbloat results are better with the R3 but the higher ping just makes it not matter XD. I'm sure they will fix it tho. Let's not forget that the router just got released with the new software, so it's understandable there are some things that need to be worked on. Just a matter of patience. -

Higher base ping on speed tests and COD with the R3

I've tried a couple different setups in the congestion control. I have found something which might be interesting to look at. I have done some different tests with the asus ax-11000 pro and the R3. It seems like the R3 doesn't wanna ping under 10ms really (see screenshot). Only 1 time it pinged 9.5ms. This is the same with ping optimizer on/off, smartboost on/off and steady ping on/off. But with the asus router it pings as low as 7.9ms (see screenshot) which makes the avarage unloaded ping lower. This was with multiple tests the same. Another thing I saw was that the steady ping target starts at 10ms (see screenshot). I'm not sure if this value is the same for everyone. But could this have an influence on the internet speed and cause it not to ping lower then 10ms? Might be bugged? It's a wild assumption but this is the only thing I can think of. I'll wait anyways for an update, in case this is the same thing yous adressed already. Let me know anyways what you think. -
Higher base ping on speed tests and COD with the R3

Yeah I understand that, but it doesn't do it when I use my modem or an other router. So seems to be this router specific. -
Higher base ping on speed tests and COD with the R3
Leidsy replied to Leidsy's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Okay good to know. Also the ping fluctuates a lot in game. Usually it's steady with a ping deviation of like 1 or 2 max. But now its even 5ms or more. Something I noticed is that the ping changes gradual. It doesn't jump from 13 to 18 suddenly but slowly goes up by 1 or 2 ms every couple seconds and goes down the same. -

@Netduma Fraser I've seen more people with the higher latency problem. Is this something that's adressed by you guys aswell? -
Hey there! I got the R3 delivered the other day and I got to say I'm impressed! The ping optimizer got me an A+ score which I never had before with any other router. One thing that I noticed is that my base ping used to be around 10-12ms, but is now around 15-18ms when doing speedtests and in call of duty on my own host in a bot lobby my ping is higher then before. I got steady ping off, so that's not the problem. With it on it's even higher, but that's what it's supposed to be with it on ofcourse. also tried speedtest bypass on and off, but seems the same. Is there an explanation for this? Another thing I noticed is that when I turn off my lan ipv6 I wasn't able to connect any devices through wifi. It would try to connect to the router, but stop after 2 seconds. Not sure why. If anyone knows something about this or has the same, please let me know!

Could you send me the .23 firmware aswell? Just got my R3 in the mailbox. Can't wait😁

Couldn't ask for a more clear answer. Thanks a lot and I think this will help me decide what to do! (going to order the R3 asap XD)

Thanks for your quick reply @Netduma Fraser I've been around on the forum for quite some time, just never had to make an account to post something myself XD. Used to have an XR1000, but the software was buggy for me. But I'm looking to switch back as the community and help is just way better. I'm just wondering in what way hardware have an impact on performance? Like I said, if better ram and cpu speeds affect wifi mostly, I'm not too fussed about downgrading in hardware. Just care about the quickest ethernet speed with the least bufferbloat and most crisp bullet reg and gameplay. so, would you recommend me looking at hardware or software and in what way does hardware have impact on wifi and ethernet? Thanks anyways and keep up the good work!

Hi there, I've been looking at the Netuma R3, but as it's brand new I got some questions. * I've seen that the hardware isn't like other top tier gaming routers. I don't care about wifi tho, just everything regarding the ethernet cable. As long as the wifi works fine for a regular user I'm happy. Will this be a major difference to the ASUS AX11000 PRO I got now? * Also I'm a competitive cod player so I'm wondering if this router will bring that competitive advantage instead of just doing the casual job over other routers like the one I have now * Will this router be better for my needs then any of the available XR series routers These questions might have been asked before, but couldn't find anything about it. Any replies will be appreciated😁
