I don't have access to DumaOS for long after the disconnect happens. After a few minutes, I can't access the backend at all. But I will give that a try.
-
I downloaded a log file after another disconnect. Is it safe to post it here publicly?

I should have added that when this happens, I can't even connect to my R2 to access the DumaOS backend. It just disappears from the list of available Wi-Fi networks on all my devices, despite the first two red lights being on on the R2 itself. When I connect over Ethernet, I cannot access the internet or the backend. Weirdly, I can't even seem to perform a factory reset. I hold in the reset button for 30 seconds, and it just does... nothing. The lights don't turn off or change, nothing seems to happen.

I recently installed the latest beta firmware on my Netduma R2 and it was fine for the first evening, but since then, my R2 won't stay connected to the internet. There's no issue with the internet itself — the router the R2 is connected to has no issues — but it seems like every time I restart the R2, it connects for about a minute, then drops out again. Is it the beta firmware that's the issue? I hadn't used my R2 for a while before updating it, so I can't tell for certain.

MW3 Topic | How is the new game treating yall, and ETC.
killianbell replied to ownal0t's topic in Call of Duty Support
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but what does throttling your speed do? Also, is it possible to do this for just MW3 in the DumaOS settings, or do you have to throttle the whole network? -
Adblocker doesn't seem to be working

There appears to be no change after the resync. I had been thinking about trying the early access firmware; I was just hoping to avoid a factory reset. But I'll try that out tonight and report back. Thanks! -

Adblocker doesn't seem to be working

I have only added blacklists. Since I restarted my router as advised above, I just have the standard "ads" and "tracking" options enabled, plus one OISD list added as a URL. -

No, I am not using a VPN on any of them. There may be something on my corporate laptop I'm not aware of, but I'm not too bothered about blocking ads on that. -

Unfortunately that doesn't appear to have made a difference. Still not blocking ads. Still not showing any tracking info for anything other than my personal laptop. -

Okay, I am giving that a try now. I am on the latest firmware -- R2 3.2.453. -
Adblocker doesn't seem to be working

It shows up when certain things are blocked on my laptop (ZephyrusG14 in the pic), but this is usually Blizzard's telemetry stuff. I'm still seeing ads on my laptop when I browse the web. When I use my iPhone, nothing shows up on the timeline (or anywhere else) for that, and as far as I can tell, it's not blocking anything. Same goes for my iPad and my corporate laptop. -
Adblocker doesn't seem to be working
killianbell replied to killianbell's topic in Netduma R2 Support
I've done that now but it doesn't appear to have made a difference. I'm still seeing ads that aren't there if I enable Blokada. I'm also only seeing "bubbles" for one device on the timeline still. I don't know why there aren't any for the other three that appear there. -
I am currently using an app called Blokada to block ads in mobile apps, but I realized today that I should be able to do the same thing with my Netduma R2. So, I downloaded the list of URLs from OISD (the same one used by Blokada) and added it to the ad blocker section, but it doesn't appear to be working. If I disable Blokada on my iOS device, all the ads in games reappear, despite the ad blocker being active on my router. Also, what's odd is that it seems the ad blocker is only working on one of four devices that appear in the ad blocker section. I've attached a screenshot. Can anyone tell me what's going on? (Just for clarify, I have tried several different OISD lists, including the basic and full options of both "Domains" and "Adblock Plus Filter Lists." None of them seem to work.)

I used the Wi-Fi analyzer, which recommended a "DFS" channel, but that was awful. I also tried other channels it rated highly, but they only seemed to make the connection slower as well. I have now moved the R2 upstairs and connected it to my second Linksys router provided by my ISP, and the speeds are significantly better. I'm going to play some Modern Warfare II tonight and see how it performs. I'm really hoping it'll help lower my ping, which is usually between 40 and 50.
-
Yeah, other devices are still using the ISP router. I would rather not switch everything over if I can avoid it, especially if I can't get faster speeds from the R2. I'll try plugging it into the second router and see how that goes then.
-
I just had a thought... I have another router upstairs (the same as the one downstairs; my IPS provided two) which acts as a repeater/booster. Could I connect the R2 to this one? I appreciate it may not be optimal, but I'm just thinking that if it's closer to my gaming devices, it might be a bit faster. I'm just wondering whether this will affect any other functionality at all?
-
Thanks so much for the reply. I see I am already connected to the 5GHz band, but I'll give that a try and see if it makes any difference. Is there a Wi-Fi analyzer that you recommend for this?

Can't Find Import/export settings or Led on/off
killianbell replied to Mostwest's topic in Netduma R2 Support
Is there a timeline on the LED feature at all? I'd really like the ability to disable them or dim then considerably. -
I received my Netduma R2 router today and I'm pleased that I was able to get it set up relatively easily. However, I am pretty disappointed with the Wi-Fi speeds. From my regular router, my gaming PC gets over 500 Mbps download speeds and 200 Mbps upload speeds. When connected to the Netduma R2, my download speeds won't seem to go above 92 Mbps, and my upload speeds are around 70 Mbps. I see similar results when testing on my iPhone and another laptop. I have read the troubleshooting guide for Wi-Fi speeds and tried disabling QoS, IPv6, and the additional Wi-Fi features. I have also tried putting the R2 in a DMZ in my regular router's settings (although I'm not sure if I did this correctly). I cannot seem to improve the speeds at all. I should note that my R2 is downstairs in my living room and my gaming PC is upstairs. I simply cannot do a wired connection because of where my fiber line comes in. However, my house isn't huge. I always expect a speed drop over Wi-Fi (my fiber connection to my home is actually 900 Mbps), but I don't expect it to be this severe. Is there anything else I can do to try to improve the speeds?
