My R3 came with 4.0.19 which I thought is the latest version

Hello I've just changed from the R2 to R3, went through the set up and it's up and running. When my son tries to launch Fortnite, the game just sits on the connecting screen and doesn't go past it. If I try loading it on my pc and all is fine. The only thing that has changed in the set up is moving from the R2 to R3. He is connected via a wired connection as well and has access to the internet and other games work. World of warcraft, Destiny 2 etc. My PC is also hardwired into the R3
