Good luck I hope the Asus does what you need. Sadly stirring up negative attitude because you want something fast is not really needed. I think the team know now that giving dates is maybe a bad idea as so much can go on in the background that can slow things down. You were even told by Fraser that he was trying to get a Beta of the VPN Hybrid. This update just released was about bug fixing and we pretty much knew that which is why Fraser gave early versions out.

Back in March they were setting out with Netgear,  a huge company and I don't know the complexity's of writing the software to link in with Netgears firmware for these router and the XR700 and the DumaOS release coming to the R1. Thats a lot to do for a small team and I'm sure lessons have been leaned all round, but Its sad to see such negativity here. Nothing ever goes as smoothly as people would like in many areas of our lives, even home DIY can take longer than expected! As for complex devices like routers with complex firmware I expect bugs  to come up that may take precedent over features. Is is  probably is par for the course with many routers from what I have seen over the years.

The team I think are being as transparent as they can be and probably have their own  NDA's  and maybe working with Netgear gives them experience with more powerful hardware, maybe a needed injection of cash who knows, I don't know, but I am grateful for what I have from them and get that new features will arrive when fully baked. This thread feels like just an attack on Netduma thats not warranted. We all have to learn patience  whether we like it or not sometimes. I think this thread should be locked as its just going to turn into a round of playground semantics it sadly seems.

I estimate the price between $500-$600 USD as the retail on a R9000 is $450 USD,  I believe AX will take off once the router hardware is out there, ASUS has a whole lineup comming out this year i believe, i'm sure netgear has something similar in the works

Thats great that you guys have another product with netduma on it but the R9000 x10 is overkill and wireless AD is dead with very little support.  The router it self is HUGE and HEAVY,  would have been a much better choice to announce a future wireless AX product.  Best of luck, the XR500 is still the better choice for 99% of users

FYI microsoft finally admits there a problem with xbox if your having an issue with that just that,

    Networking
When the console wakes from Instant on/connected standby with a wired connection, the console may not recognize that the Ethernet cable is plugged in. Workaround: Please reboot the console via Guide -> reboot. I agree, the unit im using now the 5ghz is quite abit weaker then the original unit that i had, about 61 dBm in the bedroom compared to 57 dBm on the old unit

just wondering if you still have the box to the new unit what it says above the serial number.   I think its the 3rd revision that you have.  theres currently 100-22345-01R08 (Launch) and 100-22345-01R10  (Revision 1)   out there.    Did you have to call netgear to get the new model or can you just email them

id consider it but ive ran into a few units already that you couldn't even screw the side antennas on because the board was't lined up properly with the hole.  Not sure its worth the risk of dealing with that

Just wanted to mention to anyone that wanted their router to have the ports in the correct order (even though its only cosmetic) Netgear will replace routers with the back to front ports. I had mine swapped out this week. Also the sticker from hell is now not placed on the router anymore, but stuck to some plastic film that protects the routers casing, so no more WD40 is needed or delicate peeling. LED's are a little brighter as well, but its good news that Netgear listened and will exchange units. Just wanted to let people know that if you want you have that option.

    I found these notes in one of the updates;
    Wi-Fi
We have fixed issues with users loosing Wi-Fi coming out of Instant-On.

it might apply to hardwire too

found this on an older update too

    Networking
Work has been done to improve the Wi-Fi connectivity when resuming the console from the Instant on mode and a network was not detected until a reboot. Read more at https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2018/05/03/new-preview-alpha-1805-system-update-5-3-18/#J5XfG18CH5BACHCL.99

That's great to see your working on some of those suggestions already and have developers active on the forum. It is nice to see signal strength, link rate at a glance then having to use the device to see it (if you can depending on device) maybe its a stat for nerds but it can be useful for diagnosing slow devices on the network and such . Given the price point on the router and features that competitors already have I just wanted to chime in. Thanks, I look forward to future updates

Hi, welcome to the forum! Those first two suggestions are already in the works, so keep an eye out for those in the future

Those last two suggestions seem quite technical, but it's great to know you would find them useful! Thanks for the feedback.
