michaeljfig got a reaction from Squizz in ANNOUNCEMENT: The Future of DumaOS: Version 3.0
I know this was mentioned a few months ago but could you please either let us set time for devices to expire or let us delete all devices that are not online at once?
I forgot I had qos enabled and noticed EVERYTHING running so slow then I checked devices and there were approx 100 devices in list. We usually will have around 25-30. But there were alot of devices that were offline and duplicated.
It renders qos useless when you see the qos look like stars in space haha.
Just so you know my net is 1000/45 and yes it rendered it so slow that everything was buffering and speed test on download was 4Mbps.

I have disabled it for now, do deletions and reboot every two days but shouldn't have to. I'm not gonna ask when new Dumaos OS is gonna be released for XR500 because I know how last one was delayed for like 8 months or so. Not hating just being obvious.

P.S. I know you guys are doing your best at releasing an almost bug free OS but we seriously need some kind of update.
Thanks for letting all of us know the updates and stuff. 👍👍👍
  2. Thanks

We do have a delete all offline devices option planned, we hear your pain and plan to resolve that!

Sweet Thanks! Yeah I did some recommendations others have done and I do see them now.
I'm doing the one where you drop geofilter all the way down and put PA around 30. Also have auto ping enabled. Working alot better. Denied a couple bad servers already that are on East Coast since I'm on West Coast you can expect some bad latency and stuff.
When I use Geo filter at a higher radius it seems not to work as good. Thanks for all the info, everyone! 👍

Some folks swear by this technique, I think they usually say around 40ms is the sweet spot for CoD. I guess the logic there is that it's a mid-point between the lowest and highest ping players in the lobby.
I myself don't really subscribe to that idea, but give it a try!

Are you basing this on the server icon? There will be some that appear as a peer that we need to change to a server. This should give you a rough idea of where they are:

No this is last month from the beta. This was to give Michael a general idea of where the servers are located/where they have been in the past.

The news we were going to share this week has been pushed to next week. It's all written and ready to go but we need to get the OK from all parties before we can post it.
Even if you do sell your XR500, I hope you will keep an eye on Netduma because we have big plans for the future.

Hi Michael, it seems as though you haven't made a topic regarding your issues before which makes it hard to help you. If you could summarise all your issues here and include some more details such as your exact physical setup, your base ping to speedtest.net when connected to the ISP hub and nothing using the internet we can begin to find out what is happening. If you could include a screenshot of one of those instances where Ping Assist doesn't seem to be working correctly that would help - include the Ping Panel of that particular server as well.
R-Apps will become more relevant in future

While I think this it is a good idea to release something a little cheaper don't you think you should fix the problems with current Dumas before releasing something that will be half broken like the rest? I'm a big fan of Netduma but come on it doesn't work that good. I have an xr500 and it reboots sometimes like 3-4 times a day. I've tried all fixes that you guys recommended for others and it's a no go. Factory reset, all that stuff. I have gig internet and im starting to think a regular router might be better. I have to disable sometimes just to be able to play. Also the features only work in some modes of games and not others. Just my 2 cents.
I was one of those guys that had an R1 and got tired of all the promises of waiting for Dumaos to release so I sold it, well I ended up getting XR500 cause I'm a sucker haha.
How about more features like app store where others can develop addons? It would make the router more fun!!

The 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 are supposed to be faster dns's by caching popular websites and anonymity. It said somewhere that your isp tracks sites you goto and using the dns servers above they only keep for 24 hours then they are deleted. Hopefully that makes sense. The way I did it was to first disable GeoFilter, then start a new chat (you host chat), invite them in and add them when they join. Let them know they wont hear you at first. After a couple minutes have them rejoin chat. Then they should be able to join you in game. The reason I said to do it in chat is because you will know all the circles are them. Just ask them what State they are in so you can log their names to locations.

I'm using one of those "ISP Hubs", not their routers but their Internet/Phone modems TM1602A. It's not that bad. Although bufferfloat isnt that great, also I did test on my Chromebook 5Gz wifi. No ethernet port on it sadly haha.

My setup is Nighthawk R6700, sometimes I hookup my R1 but lately I prefer not to use it. Thats great CryingSoldier you are getting good results and pings.
Ping tests with our ISP are poop sometimes but the speeds make up for it lol.

My results are in my sig, just did the test.

I was kind of weary and doubtful and I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but ohh boy.. It does!!!   I would still get good games with the Netgear CM700 I had it for about a year and this was my usual report.

Texas, Spectrum (TWC) Internet: 100 Up / 12 Down
Netduma Wifi is disabled.  I have my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 in AP Mode from the Netduma for the 2GHz and 5GHz wifi.

    Netduma R1 w/ Netgear CM 700
Netduma Settings: Antiflood 70/70, Upload Prioritisation 20% going to PS4, Hyper Traffic on, Ping Assist 0, Strict mode on, Distance at 1076km or 670miles
Ping: 40-50ms during gaming (Fluctuates during different times of the day)
DSLR Reports: Overall B, Bufferbloat A, Quality B.

    Netduma R1 w/ TP-Link TC 7610
    Netduma Settings: Same as above
Ping: 10-15ms during gaming (Fluctuates during different times of the day)
DSLR Reports: Overall A+, Bufferbloat A+, Quality A+.

I tested this for over a week, and the ping and DSLR Reports have been consistent with the data.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on how by just switching out a modem, made COD WW2 and BO3 that much more enjoyable.   I do recommend and think its worth the $45.00, but if your set up is working for you and you beasting, don't fix whats not broken. lol..

    Later Duma Family.
