Best Setup with Netgear Router as primary

Recommended Posts

Trying to find the best way to setup my router. Currently I have Time Warner Cable modem--> Netgear N600(which is in my living room with main computer hardwired to it and wireless enabled)--> Netduma(With PS3-PS4 and PC for recording games in separate room Wireless disabled) I didn't really change much after I replaced my 4 port hub with the netduma, I've had open NAT the whole time.

The only down side of what you're doing is that congestion control won't help you because your devices aren't going through it. If other people at your home make you alg you may want to consider swapping the n600 with the R1.

There could be three possible reasons I can think of:

  1. Have you got the geo-filter disabled? Remember the button should say "Disable" if its enabled
  2. Have you not selected "Xbox Live PA" or "Playstation network PA"
  3. Is it our anti-cheating feature? Did you have the circle larger before and include that host. Remember if you shrink the circle you can still connect to hosts you have been. You have to disconnect from a host for over 2mins before it can be filtered again. This is to stop people using the geo-fitler as a way to boot people out the game.

I'm guessing its the 3rd reason, geo filter was on and PA mode, I backed out of the lobby and refreshed my browser and finally stopped connecting to it. Started connecting to the Georgia and Florida Dedi Server. Did notice the Florida one is much better than the Georgia one. Florida was getting a 30-40ms ping and Georgia was around 80ms.
