  1. My EE account shows that Wifi Enhancer is activated, but I cannot find an option to use the ping optimiser or game mode anywhere in the app or the hub pro's management interface, and the article on EEs website links back to this forum for support after stating the below (When clicking Manage and then broadband, no option for wifi enhancer shows up) To turn Game Mode on: Open the EE app. Select Manage Select Broadband Tap WiFi Enhancer Choose Game Mode Toggle Game Mode to on To optimise your ping: Open the EE app Select Manage Select Broadband Tap WiFi Enhancer Select Optimise your ping and follow the steps
  2. I think it may have been version 4.0.402 that I had before, would reverting to this work and would I need to do a factory reset either before or after?
  3. That firmware appears to be the same as the one the routers management page downloaded as the update and what is currently running as it says v4.0.540 at the top already
  4. I'm not sure what version I was on previously, I think it was a beta version you provided before, but this new version was one that prompted an update inside the router frontend itself so I assumed it was a new stable version
  5. Is there anything else you believe would be causing this issue? it seems odd because literally out of nowhere the download speeds dropped from 111MB/s to 11MB/s without changing anything besides a firmware update recently.
  6. I will try it when I get a chance, but at first the speeds were better with the PPPoE on the R3 for the last few months
  7. LAN and WAN attached as requested, just redacted login information and public IP
  8. It is connected directly to the ONT, this was showing better results for the longest time, there is no other routing devices only one access point. The speeds have been set in the router since day one but suffering heavily the last couple weeks, wondering if as a result of the firmware update. Congestion control is enabled, but to limit speeds to 95% automatically only when latency dependant traffic is detected, but it is not getting anywhere near that speed now, although it use to. Same with smart boost, that has also been enabled since day one and supposedly improved ping and had no visible impact to speeds. From the PC using speedtest.net is showing idle ping of 6ms, download speed of and upload of both 94mbps with low ping on download 5, high at 282 and average of 36, which is considerably worse then it has been for a long time, maybe a new version of ping optimizer in the firmware update did something? and then on upload showing a low ping of 25, high of 625 and average of 262 all with 0 jitter. I always use my devices wired that can be, such as the PC as I have found it to always have more speed and reliability, so yes this is via ethernet.
  9. So I have had my R3 since September last year and its been pretty golden with minor issues past the first few weeks and firmwares getting everything set right and its been pretty set and forget, but for some reason now on the speed test on the router, it can only pull 600Mbps down when the line is meant to be at least 900Mbps, but even then when downloading things on steam they are capping out at download rate of 11-12MB/s which is less than 100Mbps, so I am not exactly sure what is going on here now, maybe something with the latest firmware update?
  10. Resolved this after 2-3 hours with ISP support, just required clicking PPPoE and using my first and last name @ provider broadband.com and they said use no password but the Netduma wouldn’t let me, so I just typed gibberish in there and it seemed to work, but maybe on your end in the next firmware you can make it so a password is not required for PPPoE
  11. Hi, my ISP router blew today and I was only using it so the landline would still work so I instead plugged the NetDuma R3 directly into the ONT so the internet would still work except no matter what cable I use, LAN light comes on, on the ONT when I plug it in but the Netduma says wan and internet port is disconnected
  12. Well everything seemed to be running smoothly, but it just cut out for about a minute just now, so almost a month uninterrupted, I have just downloaded the logs (and it reconnected by itself without having to be manually power cycled) so there is definitely improvement on both fronts there still.
  13. I have managed to upload it now, was not as easy the previous update you asked me to switch to as it failed with gateway timeout after 15 minutes but I tried again in incognito mode and that seemed to work and be back online in 5-10 minutes. Will see if any total connection loss happens in the next week or two or not.
  14. I am using the one you told me to use in my last post I think it was 4.0.290. Not much else has changed except a new occupant with an android phone, a windows laptop and an xbox one
  15. Somthing strange is happening with the R3 all of a sudden, it will stop providing internet to all connected devices even via ethernet and you can not even access 192.168.77.1 even via ethernet and the only way to get things working again is to unplug the router and plug it back in. It happened a few days ago at night and I just gave up and went to sleep but it just happened again now, just before noon when nobody is even really using the internet so I am not sure what is going on, I downloaded the logs from the interface so I can share them with an employee privately if it would help to fix this issue.
  16. I did look yesterday to see if there was a new release firmware but seen it was still the latest stable one on the router already, will try that later tonight when I get home from work and hopefully won’t happen again. as it’s published I assume the check for update button inside the router management page would find this as update to install automatically ?
  17. Hi, had noticed Nvidia driver update was downloading very slowly at 2.3 mega bytes per second so went to fast.com and it only got 12Mbps showing as the result for DL and even worse for upload, this seemed very strange so I clicked reboot in the admin menu of the router and now it it back up to 900Mbps, I have no idea what caused this or how I can prevent it in future. Edit: to preface, we have a landline from ISP but it now uses a digital line through the fibre ONT so I have to keep the ISP router as the first device connected to the ONT as it has the DECT station for the cordless phones built into it but the line speed to the ISP modem is always matching what is being paid for but some reason this stopped getting conveyed to the R3 or the R3 wasnt conveying it to the connected devices, one or the other.
  18. Well it has been over 24 hours and the router hasnt completely crashed out like the XR did, so at least so far things are looking promising. The speeds and pings achieved are also significantly better, makes the XR look like a joke despite under normal pricing it would be a lot more expensive at RRP than the R3. I really like the new look and how everything works in here. Edit: One feature I would like to see, that I can't currently find the option for is the option to save a backup of configuration and the ability to then later restore it, especially as you guys reccomend to factory reset after a firmware update, thats a lot of man hours to have to spend to set and tweak everything again.
  19. Well that was my thought as well, since it seemed the primary reason to have that router was for the software but as far as I am aware the XR still has 3.0 and you have released otherwise at least 3.3 and now of course 4.0 with the R3, and it seems netgear is not delivering that for some reason as well as bugs and trying to give me their useless armour software as much as I say no to it and they also appear to have nothing in the ways of support. Hopefully now on to greener pastures since amazon approved a return on the XR, I have only had it a couple days over a month but it seemed to cause more issues then resolving the one I bought it to intentionally fix.
  20. Could I please get access to the R3 early access firmware section on this forum, I would be eager to get access to firmware slightly early if it may resolve some issues that I may encounter down the line, my R3 router should be delivered in around 3 hours from now 😀
  21. I was able to purchas one from your store about an hour ago at 179.99 + shipping which was shown as discounted pricing still, but hopefully this issue with DHCP and etc. will not persist with your product. Truth be told main reason I ended up buying the XR1000, is because it was recommended on the bufferbloat test website, I did have the IQ router before but it was only rated for 300mbps connections max but it worked great until fibre was put in last month and then it was redundant. So I went with the XR1000 as it was also shown on that website and the IQ had made the connection go from unusable from one persons actions causing 4000ms+ ping for everyone to a stable 17ms constantly. Had I of known of this website and your own products ahead of time I probably would of gone with the R3 from the get go, QoS is the most important thing, but having that as well as gigabit speed seems a bit difficult. Heres to hoping the R3 can be a set and forget for my issues, keeping the QoS with the new speeds as it has been a painful month.
  22. I might see if I can return this and buy your router as the price difference from what I paid for the XR1000 on Amazon and your new release at £180 is only £10 more to shell out, compared to the £170 I paid for the XR and I assume I won't have these same issues and you seem to care a lot more then netgear do.
  23. I'm not sure I follow or understand how this is suppose to be causing a problem in that case? I never had this issue with the ISP router, DHCP worked fine just lag / latency occured for anything latency sensitive when anyone started downloading or uploading a lot at the same time. The idea with this router was to solve that which it did for a week or two but then since it just becomes "dead" randomly and it has to be unplugged and plugged back in again to get any response or connectivity, its not exclusive to one device, the whole network stops working. Okay, so for your suggesstion, you are saying I should add each device to have a reserved address in settings>setup>LAN setup with an IP address assigned to each mac address that is outside of the routers defined DHCP server range?
  24. But setting a device to use a specific IP address on the router only tells the DHCP server what address to use, so if its an issue with DHCP on the router itself then I don't see how assigning IP address on the routers web interface will work. Spent most of the day manually assigning addresses and things seem to work fine for now except devices which have no option to specify manual / static IP address assignment. In any case if the issue is due to DHCP on the router itself as you say, then it seems having a seprate server for DHCP address assignment would solve the issue in itself effectively, no?
  25. Some devices don't allow me to configure this such amazon echo dot, if I use a raspberry pi as a DHCP server and disable the DHCP server on the router, would this also allievate the problem you are thinking of?
