Mach3r started following Continued Buffer Bloat issues , How do I reset the password to access DumaOS? , R3 seemingly not helping with bufferbloat and 1 other
-
I recently reinstalled windows, so I lost my password to the router. Any idea how I can access or reset?
-
just the waveform test
-
This is what i have been doing since i got the router. I started at 100% and went all the way down to 50%. The best I have ever seen is like 20ms on download and it fluctuates back up.

I called Arris. They said there is not a DMZ setting that I can change on a cable modem. They said that is a router setting.
-
I am not having any luck getting to an Arris interface that allows you to change settings
-
Thanks for the explanation. I will try that and report back.
-
Say thanks for the response. I know you get a lot of questions, it’s actually really impressive how responsive you are. The modem is an Arris surfboard SB8200. I have to be honest I am ignorant with DMZ, bridge mode. But I did set my devices up in priorities.

Hey thanks the tip @iOrcus Sorry for the ignorance but how do I cap the bandwidth in the R3 other than the congestion controls?
-
I can’t get this bufferbloat under control for the life of me with this router. I keep tweaking the congestion and it doesn’t seem to get any better. Is there a setting that might help?
-
Ok I’ll just get rid of activities and prioritize the desktop. I am also having issues with geo filter not working. It doesn’t do anything. I can set my location but I get offshore servers all the time

I have Halo Infinite set as my top priority but when I am in a game it doesn’t show it or gaming being online.
-
I just purchased a new modem Arris Surfboard SB8200. I set up in smartboost gaming as my top priority and then video/streaming, social media. All my devices are connected to the R3. I plead ignorance with the mode/bridge mode. I don’t know what that is

I bought this router about 2 months ago to fix buffer bloat and it has seemingly little to no affect on it. I tweak the congestion everyday to try and find the sweet spot and still end up with atrocious scores while games feel awful. Am I just not aware of some router settings or something? I thought this thing would at least put a dent in it.

Ok thanks, I’ll try doing some more in depth testing and see if I can get it to be consistent. I just bought a new modem and have Cat 8 Ethernet so that shouldn’t be the issue
