What's has a "fix" on the "NEW" firmware ?
GavinA895 replied to GavinA895's topic in Netduma R3 Support
New firmware now scheduled to release 2025... all bugs still present...In 2025 ..Netduma R5 launches with the exact same issues and has no schedule for its bugs to also be fixed. -

That's unfortunate, guess I may as well go out and get another router. Can't even use the 30 day refund policy anymore from holding out with hope on the company... my mistake. -

^This is me replying to someone. In another post a few weeks ago, yes. In this post ... I think you need to open your eyes and read again. -

I never asked for an ETA … I asked if we are any closer to the firmware being released😂 -

FR .. would've really liked to know when its coming out and if the issues that plaguing me are going to be fixed -
We any closer to this "NEW" firmware being out ?

So now that February is also nearly finished.... Any chance of the "new" firmware arriving in the next 2-3 days ? or we waiting for March

Same firmware, multiple times. On 4.0.41. Every time I was unable to access DumaOS I uploaded the same firmware and then factory reset, eventually ended up with one that doesn't require a reboot daily. Day 6 almost now. If it doesn't let you reflash the same one, downgrade and then upgrade before the factory reset. Seems to keep all settings on a downgrade.
-
Update: Time since last reboot: 5 days now

So i got to the point where i was frustrated with DumaOS requiring a restart every 24 hours or even sooner and was willing to try literally anything to get it to stop. The way I was able to get it to stop doing that was every time it froze i would re-install the firmware and factory reset. 3 factory resets in 3 days and I now have the system running for nearly 4 days straight without requiring a restart, can't speak for the longevity of this solution but 4 days and counting without a reset is a win for me.

Is it a 10/10 hit rate for the DumaOS not loading issue ? I.e everyone having it or only some ? I thought this was very widespread so shouldn’t be too hard to reproduce. The Wifi one I can understand, especially since people who have both can’t assist with logs due to the above one making it harder to reproduce.

Even more genuine question... have you guys found a fix for the following issues or what is causing it, assuming that it going to be in the next firmware. In order of priority for myself: 1. "DumaOS Features Loading" after roughly 24 hours, can no longer access the WebUI. Reboot required to fix 2. Random disconnects WiFi and wired (Where the internet connection would briefly disconnect) **Can't really help here with logs due to the above issue. 3. Load/Save configs ... since we are beta testers currently ... this would be nice. 4. Guest Network devices showing under "Wired" on the network overview. 5. IPv6 6. Advertised features such as Ping Optimizer, Steady Ping, Geo Filter 2.0 working consistently.
-
Understood, but I was asking for an ETA so if you guys said for example expect an update this week and it goes over to the following week, fine. But if you guys are expecting this “update” to be out next month or something I would just go get another router to use for the time-being. Just left in the dark currently.

I'm sorry but not having a consistent internet connection from a product that is first and formerly a router is inexcusable. The bugs with GeoFilter etc I can understand but launching a router not being able to maintain a consistent connection to the internet is NOT it ! On top of that Fraser was getting flamed was providing a ETA to the point where they are now no longer providing us with an ETA. I'm sorry but I would really like to know .... if I need to go out of my way to buy another router just so I can have stable connection, that being a day, week or month from now. An ETA would be very helpful in this situation.

Sorry been busy the last few days. I'm not sure why "you" got "flamed" for the ETA. I'm sorry but its getting kind of ridiculous with the amount of issues people are facing and yet "Netduma" can't provide us with an ETA for the fixes ? I'm sorry, am I supposed to just use the completely broken router (it truly is) on the basis of "The fixes are coming" ? FFS at least have the company give us a goddam ETA so I can go out of my way and buy another functional router as a backup at the very least. I've tried to keep my hopes up for the router and the team but the speed at which these "updates" are coming out or rather not coming, is disappointing and to top it all off you guys are having people(Drift0r) advertise the router with features that don't even function. I'm losing hope and I think a lot of the guys on the forums are getting to the same stage. FYI, Appreciate you (Fraser) helping out with possible fixes etc but I dont think any of the issues that majority of the user base are facing can be, without a proper stable firmware with fixes.

Awaiting some ETA on a firmware with some actual bug fixes and improvements. Have tried to follow countless troubleshooting steps mentioned by Fraser and the forums with no luck (Thanks for the suggestions btw) and now growing frustrated and losing hope.
-
-Tried 2.4 and 5GHz split bands, no luck. 5GHz was "maybe" marginally better. -Already done, Channel 11 for 2.4GHz for me. -20MHz for 2.4Ghz is what i settled on, 5GHz didnt play around with it too much. -Router is on top of a wooden cupboard, -Devices in close proximity: NVR (0.5m away, wired), Switch (0.5m away, wired) -Antennae positions tried _||_ and \ || / . House is about 120sqm and NOT multi level.

Further update since .41 Wifi disconnection and stability in general has gotten significantly worse, was originally just me but now that family have started noticing it I've been put to notice. I have essentially every advertised feature disabled on the R3 and IPv6 too. Wifi Signal strength no improvement updating from the .2X firmware, pretty bad in general Restarts are being required more frequently to access the Web UI sometimes within the same day itself.

FIRMWARE 4.0.41 Now Update since updating to the firmware above. Issues still ongoing/wasn't in changelog - Web UI not loading after about 24 hours, refer to the post 1.0 below. Could this be moved to *****Priority, kinda hard to monitor stability etc when we can't load into the OS itself. - Guest Network still showing as LAN, was'nt in changelog so assuming still WIP. - Connection in general seems to be a bit weird, some devices lose connection briefly and reconnect after 5-10 secs. 1.0 Duma OS not Loading
