Fraser, and All, Just wanted to update everyone on where I am now at with my download speed. I have been connecting to my router by WIFI. I have used both bands split 2.4 and 5.8 and can NOT get my full down load speed. As I ve previously said I have only been able to achieve half. I decided to speak to my ISP (Virgin Media) and get my router relocated into my man cave. Which they did yesterday. I can now confirm I get the full download speed following the instructions fraser has described above, however this is using a LAN cable to my PC(Cat8 cable over kill I know). I placed the router right next to my PC at arms length and then tried to use WiFi again. Unfortunately I still got half of my 1000mbps. So I suspect there may be a firmware issue on the WIFI side of things. So if you want your full download speed I would suggest using a LAN cable in the interim until the Duma team push out a firmware update which hopefully sorts the WIFI problem out.

This is smart boost off. And your instructions followed. My upload speed is correct 105mbps Still the same. I have read other threads on here R3 support with other people having the same problem. The minute the router is swapped over to my asus one my download hits 940mbps.

Hi there, That is not the case with mine. No matter if I use Web based speedtest.net or there cmd prompt speed test on my pc, my speeds do not change. An again refreshing Web page does nothing. I have an Asus ax82u, the moment I switch and put that back on I get my full bandwidth. Which brings me to the conclusion that Smartboost is not switching its self off. Because if i enable QOS on my Asus Router I get the same speeds as I am getting on the R3. When QOS is disabled i get full speed. I have also had two R3 Netdumas now which have displayed the same problem. My friend also has an R3 which also exhibits the same problem.

Hi Fraser, I have done as you have advised above and still have my download speed restricted. I have turned Smartboost off and this makes zero difference. Could this be that Smartboost is still running in the background even though its been switched off ?

Same again here if possible please could you send me the .23 firmware.

Just to clarify put virgin router into router mode. Then in the virgin menu settings select the R3 to become dmz ? Then use R3 for everything ?

Hi Fraser Thank you for getting back to me. I am new to tinkering inside of routers, so please bear with me. DMZ so if I put the R3 into this mode what is it actually doing to the the router? Can I still connect to the R3 via wireless as I intend on using the 5g 160htz band. Or will I be forced to use the Hub3 wireless. An if I put the R3 into DMZ mode will this make the router vulnerable and insecure.. Sorry for all the questions,still trying to get my head around all this.

Hello All, Received my R3 today. I am a Virgin Media Customer in the U.K. I pay for 1000mbps download and 100mbps upload. My previous router was a ASUS RT-AX82U connected to the Virgin Media Hub 3 in modem mode. I use to get 940 download and 100 upload on the above set up. However if I enabled QoS I would only get 500 download and 100 upload. So I never bother with QoS. I have connected the R3 and followed the intial set up however after carrying out a speed test within dumaOS and on speedtest.net I can only achieve 460 download and 100 upload. I have read some of the topics in the support group suggesting to turn off Lan/Wan IPv6 which I have done. This has made no affect. I have also turned Smart boost off and ran the speed tests again and had the same speed test results. Ping optimiser fails to optimise its just stuck in a constant loop of "Setting Up Ping Optimiser". Also I have noticed that CC control is completely greyed out so cannot be used. On initial launch I added my ISP speeds manually as I have read with this forum that the duma os speedtester is not the best at the minute. I am currently on v4.0.20 firmware. This was shipped with my R3. I know this router is in its infancy still at the moment and teething problems are to be expected... However any help getting my normal speeds would be most appreciated from you all.. I'm a novice when it comes to tinkering about in the router... Thanks in advance
