I get it but atm I have to deal with powerline, because this house is for rent and otherwise it would require a 50m+ cable through the house what my fiance would definitely dislike^^. I tried WLAN before but though I used a high quality Wifi 5 repeater and a WIfi 6 PCI card with external antennas, the speed and ping were much worse and unreliable than powerline. Usually it's fine but - sad to say - since using the R2 there's trouble. I'll try the "Former router (also Wifi 5) -> PL1 -> PL2 -> R2 -> PC" setup and will report back.

Internet link speed is shown as "1000Mbits" while port 1 (that's where the powerlink adapter is connected to) is also shown as "1000Mbits". Strange thing is, both the powerline adapters (router and pc-side) are not showing up in the device list, their mac addresses are definitely not there. My pc (connected by these powerline adapters to the router) is listed correctly though. Currently the network branch for my gaming pc is: R2 -> PL1 -> PL2 -> PC and I was wondering if it would improve things generally when setting up like Former router (also Wifi 5) -> PL1 -> PL2 -> R2 -> PC so that the R2 is directly connected to my PC and can measure and operate with a more realistic connection (from my PCs point of view). That's not really what I had in mind when buying the R2 but in that case I could disable Wifi completely and there would be no other devices connected to the R2 except my gaming PC. Would that be advisable and make things better or maybe even worse?

I might be on to something: I did not recognize the past days (because of office work only) but today I did a Ookla speed test that showed for my desktop/gaming pc (connected via PowerLine to the router) a download speed of 35 Mbps (which is fine) and an upload speed of only 0.06 Mbps, which is supposed to be 4-5 Mbps normally. Almost the same with speedtest at my handy, connected to router WLAN or by WLAN extender: Download speed about 10-12 Mbps, Upload 0.2 Mbps tops. DumaOS Connection Benchmark showed me 210 Mbps down and 27 Mbps up, which both are fine, meaning it's not the providers fault. Since FireTV is connected by WLAN I think this is the reason for the slow operating speed and gaming on my PC is not possible, upload speed is just too slow and games crash, freeze or show timeouts like MW3. I think this changed after the ip address switch to 192.168.1.* , because right before that I was playing MW3 just fine. What can I do to investigate? I have QoS and network filtering completely turned off and only fwd rules for my NAS. I've un/replugged the powerline and wlan extender and rebooted the router 2-3 times now, no change. Screenshot shows result from my desktop pc.

I have finally changed the router's IP from 192.168.77.1 to 192.168.1.1 and this partly solved at least two issues: 1.) [solved] FTP upload and download back to former speed after I switched back to 192.168.1.* . This makes ZERO sense to me. 2.) [partly solved] I reconfigured the FireTV to work with 192.168.1.* again and NAS access is working now (for the first time with the R2). I guess the cause was that Kodi (running on FireTV) has more (hidden or internal) config tables than editable by the user and it would have been working with 192.168.77.* when setting up Kodi entirely fresh. Nevertheless, operating the FireTV now is awfully slow like indexing, starting/stopping movies browsing videos etc. Any idea why? 3.) [unsolved] Sonos and NAS still being seen as 90% of the time offline in device manager, even if I'm streaming from/to these devices. Any idea where I could change that? Maybe there's something in these devices that make them appear offline to the router? 4.] [unsolved] I keep constantly getting this error (before and after IP address change) in the router's log, found in "System Information": Tue Dec 5 13:36:40 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Tue Dec 5 13:36:39 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Tue Dec 5 13:36:39 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Tue Dec 5 13:36:38 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Tue Dec 5 13:36:38 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Tue Dec 5 13:36:36 2023 daemon.err ndhttpd[2156]: sh: net-cgi: not found Is there any connection to the issues, what does this error mean and how to get rid of it? !! One thing really needs to change with a future update of the R2: When changing the routers address (Network Settings/Network), all custom created forwarding rules were just gone. This is really bad. The router's software should change them according to the entered IP address change, e.g. from 192.168.77.12 to 192.168.1.12 or at least leave them as they are and deactivate them. I was lucky I hadn't so many, because I was still testing.

No change. I have QoS completely turned off as well as DPI. At WAN, I have Port Scan Protection and Syn Flood Protection switched off. NAS not reachable by FireTV, SFTP Upload very slow and NAS and SONOS hopping on and off in Device Manager (they seem to prefer off though).
-
Not really, the SFTP download speed is now back to normal while the upload speed has not changed. The other issues persist as well. I also noticed my Sonos speaker (also connected by LAN) shows same behaviour in the Device Manager as the NAS, also appears to be offline all the time (even when streaming music).

I have a variety of issues around my NAS since I switched to the Duma R2: 1.) SFTP access from my desktop pc to NAS works, but is about 3x slower than with the former router. I have opened port 22 at the R2 with TCP & UDP and ofc have a login/pw set correctly in my FTP client (Filezilla). I've tested a variety of files and folders etc. and there's no other traffic on my NAS or my PC. Upload and Download are constant but 3x slower. 2.) I reconfigured the new IP range (192.168.77...) in my FireTV where it needs to be changed and SMB access is still activated at my NAS, login and pw are valid. Still, the FireTV is blocked when trying to access the NAS while I havent reconfigured anything there for a long time, nor did I do any updates. FireTV log says 2023-11-30 22:30:52.822 T:10360 ERROR: SMBDirectory->GetDirectory: Unable to open directory : 'smb://192.168.77.5/movies' unix_err:'1' error : 'Operation not permitted' NAS and FireTV seem to be alright, maybe there is something to set up in the router? I can access the movies folder without any issues from my PC though by Windows explorer and \\MyServer\movies . 3.) In Duma router at Device Manager, the NAS is all the time categorized as "offline" device, even when there's FTP download or access from my computer. I've seen it just now as "online" but only for 2-3 seconds, it falls back to "offline" very quickly. Btw: Is there a special reason the Dumas default ip range is 192.168.77.* and not 192.168.1.* ? Would it be safe to switch to another range? Cheers!

Okay, that brought some improvement: I did three 6v6 matches and most of the time latency was 30ms or better. I used the polygon mode to select the 4 best servers with ping below 30ms. Benchmark was also better now but I am not sure if it's meaningful, because my PC is not directly connected to the R2 but by the Powerline extenders. 1.) Still, there are no servers shown in the Geo Filter tab, aren't there supposed to be servers on the map like in the Heatmap? 2.) Am I supposed to switch filtered mode on? 3.) And what can I do to improve my ping even further? Do you think replacing the powerline for a WLAN range extender would bring some improvement?

I got the R2 (latest firmware) to improve my latency and reduce bufferbloat for Call of Duty (currently MW2) but no luck yet and even after reading the docs and watching a fair amount of videos I can't see any effect. I have cable internet (250 MBit down, 25 MBit up). The R2 is directly LAN connected to the modem and to a TP-Link TL-PA8030P V3.0 Powerline adapter, whose counterpart is directly LAN connected to my gaming PC with Windows 10. Ookla Speedtest shows me about 23 Mbps down and 2,5 Mbps up for my gaming PC. I am located in northern Germany. I am not using any extra firewall or anti virus soft- or hardware besides those integrated in Windows 10. The facts and issues: 1.) The Ping Heatmap function seems to work fine (see screenshot), though I don't understand why this function is not integrated in the Geo Filter tab, since it's basically for the same purpose. I also don't see where to see or edit the custom lists for server grouping. 2.) The Geo Filter map shows no servers, except one "Ping Assist Server" in western Germany (see screenshot). I set "Ping Assist" to 25ms but when starting MW2, I am getting the same 35-40ms range as with my old router. I also set my location to the US east coast and set Ping Assist to 200ms for testing, which resulted in MW2 not finding any servers for me at all -- though the Heatmap shows me some servers around 130ms ping at the east coast. 3.) I started the Bufferbloat test at https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat and it gave me a D rating which is the same as with my former router. To make this work, I resetted the R2 and my PC, restarted MW2 and did "Resync Cloud" many times (saw that in another thread here) without success. I also tried finding servers for different games like FiFA and Fortnight but Geo Filter does not find any at all. Okay, how do we proceed from here? So far, I don't see the slightest difference to my former router and any Geo Filtering settings do not seem to have any effect on MW2 (except not finding any servers in the US when setting US as home location). Maybe I am missing something or the issue is somewhere else in my hardware or Windows settings?
