  1. That's because I did it, tested and then put it back on.. I retested the congestion control here too.. Now it seems it won't let me change speeds on auto-detect.. keeps saying "The operation is taking longer than expected. Please briefly wait before using this Rapp." I've also posted what the nighthawk app is telling me too
  2. I tried the NAT and WAN settings and it made no difference, attached is the QoS image.. I've posted what the nighthawk app is telling me too
  3. Yes, it was disabled fully and it's not connected to a modem, it's connected to fttp so it's a socket on the wall, the bt one
  4. I've already been though that (meaning I can't do most of the suggestions as my setup doesn't have the options described - except QoS etc), the only thing I didn't really check was turning off ipv6 but I just did and it's made no difference, it seems to be using 6to4 Tunnel, which I did disable completely to check but was unsuccessful.
  5. Hey.. I recently changed to fibre on a 150mb connection, and then decided to update that to 500mb. Testing the speed on speed test.net using my mobile I'm getting around about 250mb, testing on my pc, around 120mb. My setup is a little unorthodox compared to the average person so I need to explain that and then explain how I overcome this fact. I have TP Link deco's that supply my WiFi in a web network around the house and I have TP Powerline plugs that supply almost ethernet like speeds. Checking the decos they are supposed to be able to deliver around 867mb, obviously accounting for conditions and sales spill, I'd expect to receive almost the 500mb. The TP Powerline claims 1000mb although most report a max of about 400mb or so. When I plug ethernet into the router with a laptop, it's reporting about 250mb, but when I'm testing with the nighthawk app it reports I'm getting my full, and sometimes more than the 500mb.. How can this be explained? Thanks
  6. True, but I can't choose which to use specifically at different times, one purpose might be to choose to play on a server closer to myself than a friend or to choose to be closer to that friend if their experience is a little choppy
  7. I was thinking that what might be cool would be the ability to set up more than one geo filter area. For example to set one up around only the UK and another only around the USA and to be able to use the app to switch between them.. Maybe it's silly but I'm sure this type of feature would help those who play with others in different countries to switch between where the best ping for them in their friends are is.
  8. All installed, easy switch.. only requirement seems to be the need to set up PPPoe with the Username: [email protected] and Password: BT The setup does not need anything more than just the netduma itself, no need to use a modem or the BT router.
  9. Yes, I think that's true but I'm not having a phone line installed.. One of the questions they should ask, but never did with me and I assume you too, is whether you have any vulnerable people in the house because if they do, they would refuse fttp due to that reason.
  10. Unfortunately I don't know yet as although fibre has been connected to the house fully, activation is not due until 16th Sept, I would however recommend FTTP rather than FTTC as it is far faster.
  11. I used patara previously, the guy from fobes said the EQ audio looks ok, but there were also crucial things that was causing me, personally, problems, for example I was also using soundlock because I'd heard on some videos was good, he told me that it actually causes more problems than it solves due to blocking more than just heavy fire. That's the sort of thing I mean, I'm not saying the EQ settings are bad, but on an individual level, some people implement or don't implement audio setting that just make their experience worse, another example is windows own settings like enhancements, whether or not something like Dolby Atmos helps in your individual case, many different variables that I, as someone who knows nothing about audio missed by trying to take advice from places like YouTube. The EQ settings may be good, but for example do they take into account that gunfire being really loud means your ears cannot adjust to hear enemy footsteps immediately after a gunfight, it's one thing to set EQ, it's another to be able to hear. Also I used to have my audio set to full blast, he set it to 50% so his audio settings can give better location audio as well as footstep audio at very little cost to awareness of the enemy presence, although to be clear, I'm talking pc, I don't know if they would deal with console due to software restrictions.
  12. My suggestion is more than a simple preset, it's the opportunity to have someone who knows about audio, to personally help with their settings. I would never discourage people from using presets, I did up until about 6 months ago, but then I found this service and I found it to be far superior than any preset as he also takes you through warzone audio settings too, as well as check your pc audio settings are set up correctly. The man who does the audio for example has a master's degree in audio settings, he has eq settings setup using Equaliser APO that he has specifically made for many different headphones including steelseries as well as Astros etc, he also advised on all other audio issues like for example streaming and as I mentioned before, he has done some streamers including people like icemanissac and savage, if people want to use presets, that's cool, but some just don't find the quality they are looking for in simple presets All I've done is issued an alternative should people want a more professional setup.
  13. Thank you, I guess I'll have to test when it's all set up
  14. If you have around £65, I'd highly recommend these guys (foves) to sort your audio , they also do the audio and pc optimisation including overclocking and colour settings for many streamers if youre ok paying for it https://discord.gg/qfeQRXV4
  15. Thanks.. Like the sky setup, is there a username and password I'd need to set up, also the setup inside the house is like this I would hope with this that I could just connect the ethernet cable directly (via the lan under this (yellow)) to the XR500 and it all work, is that the case?
  16. I am changing over from sky to BT, Im going onto their 'Full Fibre 100' plan, would you be able to tell me the setup process, whether for example i'd need to use their router as well as the XR500 I currently have like I do currently with sky or can full fibre be used without any other modem. Secondly, setting etc that I'd need and if for example a reset would be a good idea before installation. Thanks
  17. Never have... Is there a way to do that without bugging friends by avoiding calling them in order to get that server to pop up. I am curious as to why the ringfencing would block other servers as well as MW ones if you only choose the option of MW, surely, with my very limited knowledge, it'd make more sense to allow everything except the games specific servers and not disallow everything unless specifically stated?
  18. I kept getting an error through discord of "no route" this is obviously a network error, after some hunting around, I founf that the reason was because my ping assist was on 0, as I was playing on USA servers from the UK this is how the advice was to set it. Having not used discord whilst playing on USA servers I did not realise this issue so when this error appeared once I went back to UK servers and started playing with friends again, not being able to connect through discord I was confused. One of my friends lives in Egypt, it was him I noticed the 'no route' error, as I said previously, after some messing about I changed my ping, I put it to 30 and immedietly discord started working again, anything below this and it wouldnt work. I can only assume this is a bug or there is some kind of clash between discord and the netduma. This post was advisement for the potentuial need for a fix. Regards
