Scoflo
Fraser as per our twitter conversation: The R2 arrived and initially connected fine to my Plusnet Hub One (not in DMZ, wifi was off on the Hub One everything connected through R2). Started Cold War and noticed a moderate NAT type, checked the forums and placed the R2 in the DMZ of the Hub One. No connection at all to the R2 while in the DMZ, no access to Dumaos. Took the R2 out of the DMZ and managed to connect via LAN but couldn't connect via wifi (all credentials correct), reset both the Hub One and the R2 (30 second hold) but no change so I checked the Hub One unit on it's own and the connection was fine. I then unplugged them both for 30 minutes and then rebooted, this appeared to fix the problem as all connections were fine. Checked Dumaos and proceeded to update the firmware, after 30 minutes the firmware was still updating so powered down the Hub and R2 and rebooted. After rebooting I checked Dumaos and the update had gone through, headed downstairs to connect the TV to the wifi but there was no connection so went back to the PC and the LAN connection had dropped. Powered down the R2 for 30 minutes again, powered it back up and no connections at all. Checked the Hub One and connections are good so I reset the R2 (30 second hold), when it booted back up the power light is on and the connection light flashes intermittently but the wifi lights are off and there is a very faint flash across the LAN lights every so often as if it's stuck in a boot loop. It is now unresponsive to resets much like the thread below, I have also attempted your suggestions in the thread to no avail. Any help is much appreciated. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Could you isolate the router please, so just connected to power and your PC, then open command prompt and type ipconfig, what are the results? Scoflo
Good evening Fraser, The new Router arrived today, just unboxed it and went to attach the wifi antennas and both the router and antennas have male connections fitted (see images). I'm not sure who is manufacturing the R2 units but judging by the number of issues on this forum and the issues I've personally had I'd be dragging them on to a Teams meeting first thing tomorrow and ripping them a new one regarding their QC. I've emailed Netduma about how we proceed with yet another replacement, I feel for you personally as you seem to be the main contact and it's you that has to try to rectify issues that really shouldn't be present in the first place if the product was fit for purpose. I hope everyone else receiving replacement units doesn't come across the same issue.

I'm hoping it was a one off, thank you for emailing they will take care of it but yes it seems we will need to talk to them and make sure that doesn't happen again. SlowFoShow
Its not your fault or Netduma themselves @Netduma Fraser but the build quality on these boxes is quite shocking, i'm hoping there will be a v2 or something in the future or these can be addressed in further iterations. I did bring this up to the team so I'm certain they will be speaking to them about this, they should be able to tighten up their processes so this doesn't happen. Scoflo
Update: New antennas arrived and everything setup first time. I am having an issue with my smart TV disconnecting from the wifi each morning, I've disabled mirroring and renamed each 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I had the TV connected to 2.4GHz which I have changed to 5GHz this morning to see if that sorts it, my work phone is connected fine to 2.4GHz as it doesn't pick up the 5GHz signal and all other devices connect to 5GHz without any obvious issues yet. When finding games in Cold War it shows the southern UK server as a peer server, is that actually a cluster of dedicated servers and it's a display error @Netduma Fraser? I notice it will pick up and display dediacted servers in France, Spain and Germany fine. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure on that, could you try flushing the cloud and see if it's still showing as a peer?

One thing I have noticed is the Adblocker prevents the Zoom application from connecting. The desktop version works fine though but I've had to disable to adblock so my daughter can access her lessons on the ipad. Not sure if anything can be done about that in an update but just FYI really.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 20, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2021 It is almost certainly a server just misclassified as a peer. You can add a whitelist rule for zoom on the Adblocker and then with it enabled it will no longer be blocked.
BP3K
I have the same exact issue as scoflo's first post and I followed the steps listed and got the same results. I initially posted awhile back asking how to tell if it was struck by lightning through the surge protector. It's like the wifi signal is non existent and when I connect via ethernet while r2 is connected to the modem I dont have internet access. Unplug the router from power for 10 minutes, then plug in and wait 2 minutes before accessing it. Do you get internet then and does WiFi show? What is the modem/router model the R2 is connected to?
