If you are running DumaOS, and you are getting 60ms ping, then I think you hay have a few settings that may need tweaking ;)

And if you are playing on a 60+ms ping, rather than the more common 10-20 in MP and 30ms in warzone, then 'Call of duty' is probably using its algorithm for lag compensation, by throttling the other users faster connections to compensate for your bad one.

I'm sure you must be playing on a better connection than 60+ms....

Also, if you dominate 90% of all lobby's you get in, the games 'Skilled Based Match Making' is probably putting you into easier lobby's than it should be ;)

I totally understand how people can complain about connection issues, when you have the servers dictating the speeds of the faster connected users over those that are slowing the server down. Its very obvious when this happens (in my experience). This has been covered in great depth on Youtube. For example how Tick rates work in MP compared to Warzone. The servers update 20 times a second in Warzone when compared to 60 times in MP, so you can clearly see why people experience the 'Super bullet' kills that drop you instantly in warzone. This is why the competitive 'money Games' community called for the tick rates to be increased on the servers that these players play on.

Any half decent FPS gamer can identify a discrepancy in the way the game performs. For me, its like night and day if there is a problem with the connection.

In Warzone you can the artificial lag on your connection. If you play Battle Royal or Plunder the connections are crisp in pre game lobbies where the countdown ticks down to zero. The bullets connect as it should be and the character movement feels lighter. But when the main game starts it gets laggy and the character movement is sluggish.

Sorry. what do you mean?

Battle Royal & Plunder plays laggy & I have a sluggish movement while pre lobby is fluid and shots connect as supposed.

No matter how in the zone I am, most games i'm barely breaking even going 25/20 sweating my ass off lol. Every encounter feels like they can see me a few frames earlier and i'm taking damage before i can even aim. Game is broken

Simply put the disadvantage is unfair. Doesn´t matter how fast you react, there is 0 chance you can react to anything in time.

I totally agree mate. I've almost emptied M4A1 clips into a guys back (with markers) as he's running aimlessly away from me in warzone. Only for him to spin round a drop me with a couple of leg shots...

The game is way too inconsistent for it to be playable. But as I have said before, streamers never seem to complain about these situations. I watch Doc and Zee live when I get a chance, and they NEVER get taken out by any situation like this. Its like he's playing a different game to the one I play. And its not like their shots are more accurate than mine. Its just he seems to have a much better connection to the server.

How far are you to your nearest server? Earlier I was thinking that all that matters is how close you are to the server, but if you are from the UK then you shouldn´t be too far to the server in London. I don´t know either how they get such a good connection. I really don´t care about SBMM as far as I get a fair chance winning a gunfight only based on skill and not on connection. Comparing my gameplay to them its just seem so much smoother and slower, having the time to react to anything. All I want is to get a solid connection, but thats not gonna happen it seems. What is your net speed?

Not that I can't say, just that I don't have a date. The XR700 will come first and then the XR300 after that most likely.

My speed is 45MB down and 15MB up. But the game only needs a fraction of that bandwidth. Like 2MB each way I believe. The speed of the connection is obvious a huge play in this scenario. so despite having ample bandwidth, the speed should really help it along too. For example, a guy I speak to online has a connection in London that is like 50 yards from the actual COD servers, and he gets a 1ms Ping, on a 1,000MB up and down fibre connection. He says that his game plays flawlessly....

Again, I stated in my post that I “understand” most of the complaints that people are making but a lot of it could be managed if they were actually “better” players(which is never acknowledged). They are the ones looking too take advantage of a lag compensation tweak as opposed to going in practice mode and fixing their questionable gun skill.

I have to keep referring to “streamers” because if you go on any of your favorite  streamers, you’ll see that they consistently play very well. What this forum will have you believe is that they are taking advantage of some magical connection, router or setup tweaks. No. That’s not the case(most of the time). I’m sure if this forum were to play on their personal setups they would be complaining about the same thing... “I see first, die first”, “people running out of my bullets” etc.

I’m not trying to start some debate. I’m just a forum lurker who observes people looking for some imaginary holy grail setting that does NOT exist.

My response was to the OP questioning how someone has “smooth gameplay” and “zero delay”. Swagg is a really GOOD Call of Duty Player, that’s it. He was also really good when he was a nobody with an average to below average connection and setup. The same with countless others.

So you are agreeing that connection is yes an issue and that some people need to get better? So me getting drunk and screaming at the tv count? LOL Don't forget when a bunch of youtubers tried playing pro players and got beat up what was it 250 to 12 or something? Anyway some people are just frustrated because COD happens to them more than others for a number of reasons whether they get better or not. Being Mr. Hitmarker will always suck!

Connection can be an issue but the SBMM is a bigger issue , reality is you have to play hard to survive as they say sweaty . Also some of the steamers are getting 2 accounts and reverse boosting to get themselves in a great lobby of noobs for the YouTube ££ machine . I watched one the other day and he looked like a beast he kept flicking the scoreboard on to see his score and I noticed the other team had 200 - 300 points only .....  you could score more than that by accident in any game ... cheating for views basically

No offense to most of the people on this forum but although the Call of Duty servers can be trash, the most important variable amongst all of the Call of Duty complaints is the fact that most people are just BAD at the game.

Streamers stream because they’re fundamentally good at the game. Having the “perfect connection” is only a sideshow to them.

My point, people blame their gameplay on everything EXCEPT themselves. They’re finding ways to blame the DumaOs software, finding ways to lag out their connections, making all of these useless tweaks INSTEAD of the simplest fix...PRACTICE. I can find agreement with 90% of the complaints made on this forum but regardless, I can still wreck 90% of any lobby I’m in regardless if I have 60ms ping or 100+ms ping.

There is NO magical settings in any Router that will naturally improve your gameplay.

Hi @Mossberg 👋

Someone might be very good at a game but because network issues let them down, they might appear as being average or performing badly.

There’s many variables to having a good online game but I think there are four main ones:

1.    How good you are
2.    How good the other player is
3.    How good your connection is
4.    How well the developers Netcode deals with the inevitable network lag

Ideally, we would all play together with a 1ms ping LAN connection and there would be no need for ‘lag compensation’ to be written into the Netcode. It would be a level playing field.

But we all live hundreds and thousands of miles apart. We are at the mercy of a multitude of variables playing out in the background as to why we are ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

If the Netcode is written well, you could have a 10ms ping to a game server and I could have a 200ms ping to the same server. In theory our gaming experience should be similar. The lag compensation code should introduce a slight delay to your connection to balance things out. I know it’s much more complicated than that but basically it’s how it works.

If there was no lag compensation written into the Netcode of games, the person with the lowest latency to the game server would always have the upper hand. Netcode and lag compensation tries to balance this out, but ten players close to a dedicated server and one player out in the sticks will never favor that one player, in my experience.

I hear your point but I don’t think poor gameplay is always the  fault of the gamer.

If i shoot you a hole magazine in the back and you strafe and kill me with 3 bullets...you are  better player ...connection has nothing to do!!!!Maybe you are in the "other" side of lag compensation thats why you say this.

Smh.

So many people missed my point.

Yes, I believe having good MOVEMENT, good POSITIONING and an actual GOOD SHOT makes a shoddy connection not be the bane of my existence like a lot of people on this forum. Of course I’ve had many, MANY deaths that make me go “wtf?!” but my point is...it’s not nearly at a level that would make me spend hours making router tweaks, forum researching and developer harassment. I made a reference in an earlier post regarding a friend who’s questionable connection I played on...in return, if people on this forum played on my connection, they’d probably still be complaining.

When I play Warzone and I’m up against bad players(most players), I can predict an entire teams movement and actions which makes killing them so easy. Bad players will think they have me in a “pinch” when in reality, I set THEM up. I’m not a psychic, I shouldn’t be able to predict a players movement...move by move. Fortunately, bad players give me that ability. The “death  comms” have given me the data that people don’t have a clue what’s going on in most cases. “It was a whole team”(no, just me). “How did he know I was there”(because I saw you flanking before I downed your teammate)  “Where is this guy”(shot and rotated) “He’s one shot”(you missed half your shots, I still have 2 armor plates)

My personal opinion is...people don’t actually know their skill level. Most are below average at the game, which is ultimately, fine as long as you can accept that and focus on real improvement as opposed to hypothetical-miracle-DumaOs-improvement.

Anyhow, I hope Netduma eventually gets you that magical connection that will turn you into a dump master overnight.

100% agree .... and I’m one of those bad players your talking about :)    Just try and improve your own game and know your place . Like everything is life there is always somebody better / bigger / smarter than you . just live with it and always try your best to improve   ..that’s it

All are the Seattle servers.

my lowest ping I can get is California and it’s 30ms but it plays like a 150ms server 😂

im base in Vancouver bc. Does anyone live near me and have success with the netduma product?
