So your suggestion is to wait for at best months for a firmware fix on a brand new router that cost over $300? I think not. I and everyone else should do whatever possible short of physical damage to get it working while they at least have 30 days to return it. As I got it out of the box it was completely useless and nothing short of a 30/30/30 reset did anything. Non of your stated recommendations or netgears did anything but waste massive amounts of peoples time.

We understand why this is so frustrating, we're working to release a fix for this as fast as possible but as Fraser said it's not the easiest thing to reproduce. Thank you for your patience thus far, we'll do our best to ensure this is sorted as soon as we can!

I had some friends recommend this router, the XR1000 with DumaOS. I have to say while it seems great, it is the slowest interface I have ever seen. I am using a beast of a computer and I know its not that. Also I had no way to control the DHCP features as far as I can tell. For example. I want to be able to propagate google DNS servers to the pcs on the network but it seems that the router cannot do that.  It forces the IP of the router for DNS servers.

We're working on that! As far as DNS goes that's not something it can do currently, that would be one for NG to take a look at implementing. I couldn't say whether it will be included or not

After having slow interface issues, i found this forum page and wanted to update that it seems the web browser interface has been improved since the Firmware update. I only noticed a 2 - 3 second delay when updating settings, which is expected.

I have noticed though that the router struggles on the Nighthawk app though. When trying to access it, the app struggles to find a connection and gives me Timeout errors which require me to exit the app entirely and try again. Whenever I try to run speed test runs, it fails the first time but will work fine the 2nd time but it records both events in its log. When I try to connect to the router remotely, sometimes it lags out so bad that the router goes offline and cannot be found for 3 minutes, although none of the hardwired devices are affected, only wifi.

I recently turned on Smart Connect and tried assigning Static IP addresses to my devices at home but I began to notice that all my Ring cameras struggle when doing so. They have had a longer delay when trying to view Live events, sometimes even failing all together, but events are still triggered and recorded on the cameras history.

My gaming consoles will say "No internet connection" even when standing next to the router and I have to sometimes restart the console or reconfigure the internet settings for it to find the router again.

Did I setup something wrong? Should I disable some options? I never had this issue with my R6400 router I purchased 8 years ago

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Regarding the App you'd need to contact Netgear about that as it's not something we've had any involvement with.

Those kinds of devices only really like 2.4GHz and do not do well with WiFi that switches between 2.4/5GHz - would be better to disable this and manually have them connect to 2.4GHz.

I think you're alone on that one. Just casually opening the interface right now took over 40 seconds to present the GUI.

The interface issues are still present and very much a problem. I can take videos if needed to show how bad it is for a 'daily driver'

Is this on the very latest firmware .58 after a factory reset?

Negative. I was tracking the .58 was only security updates.

There's a lot of stability improvements on there too, so I'd still suggest making the upgrade!

Still broken with new firmware. Terribly slow.

Here's a video taken with incognito mode (no cache)

Without cache you'd expect it to be slow, but I agree that is very slow. Could you re-enable cache then navigate around the interface a bit, then close the interface and go back to see if things are loading quicker once they're cached.

For as much as I spent on this router buying NOT on sale, and at full price. I am very, very unhappy with Netgear and net Duma. This isn't worth HALF of what I paid... Just sad I waited WAY too long and can't return it. Seriously makes me think of NEVER buying another product from either of theses two companies again.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry to hear this, are you also experiencing the same issue as mentioned in this thread? If you've got any other particular issues please do create a new topic for that and we can help you resolve this.
