So I did the update today about an hour ago and for some reason after the update I'm getting booted offline about every 5 minutes. AS of right now I'm back to the old firmware .40 and I havent been booted yet. Is there something I did wrong or was it a strange download and should try it again?

If your talking about the latest firmware release for the XR500 then the question is after you did the update did you do a factory reset to the router?  A factory reset is needed.. So I would try it again and update the router and once the router is up and running with the new firmware go ahead and do a factory reset. You should be okay after that. If not post back here for further assistance and im sure the Netduma support with help you further. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply zippy!..

I did not do a factory reset after i did the .56 update. I didn't think shit doing that...i don't remember ever having to do that with a firmware update... But if that's the solution I'll try that then.

Honestly guys I would try that.. Do a factory reboot after you've done the latest firmware update.. See if that helps at all.. I know its a pain to do but if may require this in order for the new firmware to fully take.. Good luck!

i upgraded to .56 last week, and my xr500 keeps losing its internet connection...  i just did a factory reset.  can i restore from a backup i created while using .40, or isnt that a good idea?

I wouldn't recommend it really, not a good idea to bring a config over from a different firmware version. Is it happening across all devices wired and wireless?

yes, i lose internet connection on ALL devices. i noticed that the "internet" light (next to "power" light) on the xr500 stops blinking and turns solid white.  almost seems like the xr500 freezes @Netduma Fraser

Something similar was happening to me on .40. It quit once I downgraded to initial release, let it update back to .40, and did clean factory reset. I've learned that doing a factory reset then downgrading to original FW and letting it update back does wonders.

Does it happen randomly or does it coincide with an event like when loads of devices are using the internet for example? Has it disconnected since the reset? Are you able to access the interface when the disconnect happens?

@Netduma Fraser it happens randomly.  i was NOT able to access the interface.   I actually just disconnected my xr500.  i'll hook it back up whenever a new firmware is released.  i need a stable internet connection right now.

No worries, totally understand. Very strange it would occur with this firmware for you when nothing substantial has changed, did going back to .40 resolve the issue at all?
