I read back through the earier discussion.

I was testing with wireshark myself this week and noticed that game traffic didn't seem to utilize port 3074 UDP anymore in COD MW. So I switched to the generic setting for now.

Bert, I also have noticed that 3074 doesn't play much of a part anymore for other games as well.

Did you happen to notice in your wireshark capture what ports are being used? Specially UDP.

What are you playing on btw?

I may have a pretty good hunch what is taking place..

I don't remember the specifics but they were very high numbers (30000 etc), shame I didn't save the logs.

They seemed randomized, I wasn't getting the same between games.

I am on PS4. Basicly I just attached a USB network card to my PC and shared the connection to my PS4, and port forwarded 3074 to the PS4. This causes the netduma to not see your console, but geofilter still works when you call your PC a console and just put that into the geofilter.

I'll have a try later and see if I can capture some.

Here is what I think might be taking place.. Or my hunch. From what I have observed over the last few months. And this is mainly about port 3074. Im currently using/playing on the XboxOneX console. And ive noticed that 3074 is no longer present in any of my wireshark captures anymore. To verify this I also checked using my ASUS router because it has an active connection log that tells exactly what port is being used and what type of port tcp/udp. Also shows how much data a port is using. Its basically like a mini version of wireshark on my ASUS router.. Im basically focusing on the UDP type ports.  3074 is gone. And has been for id say close to 6 months for me. Im not saying some might not still see it but its not been present to me in about 6 months if not longer. And both wireshark and my ASUS come up with the same thing every time.. The one port I do see now that has taken place of 3074 is 3544 exclusively for me. And that port is used exclusively for tunneling for IPV6 with Microsoft. So even if we have IPV6 disabled doesn't mean we are not running into IPV6 tunneling.. Microsoft has been very clear on this saying big things are coming with IPV6. And the last few updates MS has had on the console clearly points to this.. In fact with one of the updates that is when I noticed my 3074 was gone. So does this mean the PS4 is also doing things like this? That is unknown to me atm. If you see a port like 3544 in the mix then I would say yes! Because if MS data severs are doing this im sure other larger ones as well are using some sort of tunneling protocol for IPV6. Looks like IPV6 is becoming to be a thing more and more and also the fact that I see IPV6 MS servers pop up in my GeoFilter really makes me wonder..

Im currently running the XR500. And I no longer use any of the port prioritization features anymore because they have a negative effect in game. I just don't think there is something working right with that feature for me atm. What I think might be happening is the port that is tagged going into the tunnel protocol isn't being prioritized correctly coming out.. Basically QoS tagging is not being fully completed.. Its likely my XR500 is the problem. Since I have had issues with it from almost day one. Another thing also is even if I switch to IPV6 the XR500 has some of the most outdated IPV6 options I have seen.. We have very little options and control with IPv6. And of course the other problem using IPV6 is I don't think much of the DumaOS is compatible with IPV6..

Have any of you noticed if port 3544 shows up at all? Or noticed any IPV6 servers in the GeoFilter?

Zippy.

Thanks kinel, I do hope we can get some sort of a thing like this. It would make life much easier and then we can target ports correctly! The Netduma Classified games option while nice likely becomes outdated.. Meaning it likely is missing any new ports or changes. One is always much better off knowing exactly what ports a game is using on a regular bases.. That's why I think we need something like a active connection log. Its really a must have!

Btw nice job on the poll! 👍

Just letting you guys know i think now playing cod mw that the next update that the dumar has has to reinstall the older network monitor

My hit detection \hit registration  is now brilliant since i done these steps

Heres why

If you want your hit registration or hit detection  to be great read this

When playing cod mw  the game uses 3 ports to play thats if you want godd hit detection  \hit registration

The first is port 3074 this is on ps4 i think its 3075 on xbox but i am not sure i dont know about pc

The second port stays the same untill you restart the game i think this is the data centre or either matchmaking

The 3rd port is  changes every new game  this is the dedi or peer your playing on

Thats why you see new people every game  and thats why you do good one game but not the next

Thats because you changed dedis  and the ports have changed

So thats why you need 3 ports every game  the first is 3074  the send is the matchmaking or data centre the 3rd is for the game mode you play

Atm i am making a list for  the ports it uses

Just letting you know  you can do this yourself to see what ports is needed  but you have to downgrade to the older firmware  well thats on netdumar1

I dont know about other routers

You would have to ask admins   as i dont know anything about them routers

Please if you found this helpful  please vote

this thread was started over a year ago and we are still have no clue if there gonna bring it back

Bud its amazing how a year has gone by and we still have not seen this feature brought back.

I created my post based off the info i saw here last year and in January this year when i stopped coming back to it.

So much useful info was shared here - we need this to become a reality now.

All credit to you @kinel and thanx for never giving up on it - hopefully my Thread adds even more light to the issue....... there is so much untapped gaming potential to be gained for everyone, 👏👏👏👏👏

Well said!! Ive said it before and I will say it again! lol. Why the hell this feature was ever removed is completely mind blowing! And what is even more mind blowing is the fact we sit here for over a year without it back!  If I was to say it was completely stupid to remove it I will be the front guy to take the heat! lol. I will be more then disappointed if its not back in the new firmware. This is a basic feature that other routers have. What in the world it isn't in here is right down dumb. I know Netduma wants to make this easy to use for all. But we are not talking rocket science here. We are talking a very simple process to get info on games. The removal of this feature has caused nothing but headaches and frustration. And making us jump through hoops and grab wireshark.. That's not cool at all..

@kinel I sure hope your efforts with your poll doesn't go unheard.. Good job on that!

Zippy.

Hi Kinel!

Can you please give a screenshot of your port forward list? I am trying to figure out how I have to do and how many ports I have to do... 🥴

I dont port forward any ports  now

I ony use traffic prioratization

And rember i am using an loder firmware so my layout will be diffrent

On my layout you cant pick port ranges in traffic prioratization  so i do them indavidually

But thats how i would do them any how one by one

When i put them in as ranges my hit detection is still crap

I see your list that you post before... for the first one I use the same port as source and destination and on the second one as you post it? For example:

30020 source 30020 destination (your first post)

3165 source 3074 destination (second post)

and I do the same for all ports?

For me what you said souds good

But i thought you would get overlaping ports because your using port 3074 detination many times so i dont think it works that way if i remeber correctly

But im not on the new firmware so i cant test it out again but i dont think ut used to work in the past

On my old firmware  im using you can only enter one port in so its easier

If i was you i would write them like this

30020 source  30020  detination

3165 source  3165 destination

3074 source 3074 destination

Etc etc   i hope this helps you

I wouldnt write them this way though

@kinel On the XR500 you dont get the port overlapping message.

I use port 3074 as the source and destination port for each rule created, hope the pic helps. _20191124_191408.thumb.JPG.1763b45b9688ddd1f45676c96ee9330a.JPG

Really sad that it seems all these years with netduma are kinda going to the wayside for COD lately.  Testing more now, but still seems the more you handicap your connection, the better off you are in MW.  How other games seemingly have it down, or at least miles ahead of COD on the first try is hard to believe.  Hoped the new engine and other changes this year would improve things, but with a great connection things continue to get worse it seems.   Has to be deliberate with COD, after all these years they had to have learned something, so how else could it still be only a COD issue?

Got tired of the COD science experiments last couple years, but there’s so much potential in MW I’m tinkering again.  Got to the point I spent more time on my connection than on COD in years past, which is pretty pathetic on CODs part. Longer story a bit shorter, guess I’m trying things from the thread, so thanks.

I have read all the thread but I'm a little confused. Which port should I open on my router? (I have an Xbox One X)

Hey, welcome to the forum!

You don't need to open any ports as long as you have an Open NAT. If you prioritize the ports however that may give you a better experience, there are quite a few topics of discussion on this at the moment around the forum.

I have open NAT and I have read this topic because I want a better experience (as I'm feeling like I'm loosing a lot of gunfight because of the network). So I wanted to know which ports should I configure in the Traffic Prioritisation.

Try this

source 3074-3075  destination 3100-3500

destination 3100-3500   source 3074 - 3075

source 3074-3075 destination 30000-45000

Source 30000-45000  Destination 3074-3075
