R1 DumaOS Briefly Delayed

Recommended Posts

I can't believe that everyone is still pissing and moaning over the R1 not getting updated. I come on here every few days just to have a laugh at all the people still complaining. Let's face it folks, they should possibly update it eventually, and if they don't, just get the DumaOS. That's what I'm doing eventually!

Why on earth would anyone "just get the *XR500" if we were told we're getting DumaOS on the R1 in April? That's exactly why we're here waiting for an update

I don't think there is anything to achieve posting about the OS delay

I think every argument possible has been put forward and STILL nothing has come from the Duma team. The silence is deafening, the time of the delay announcement was inexcusable, but no amount of posting is going to change the fact that is has not been released, is not likely to be released on this version of the Duma.

I far one, and I speak for myself, am not , and will not lose any sleep over it. For you guys that bought the Duma on the promise of an upgrade etc I can understand your annoyance, anger and frustration over the situation.

But it has not made ANY difference at All and we have 33 pages of nothing! Once the announcement was made the Duma team wound their necks in and battened down the hatches and have not yet come out of the bunkers.

Except to put their nice new OS on the XR500.......... :)

They are still advertising that the VPN is functional on the R1 and it hasn't worked in over 2 years with no fix in sight.

I had custom configs for VPNArea then subsequently ExpressVPN working. The problem is VPN on the R1 was excruciatingly slow compared to the VPN desktop apps.

No it isn't.

It's against the rules to spread false information though.

I see the Rt Reverend snuck in via the tradesmen's entrance and delivered a stealth-like 'like' to this post.

Bagsta, you miracle of modern science, how are you? I'm considering a comeback and may require your council... any gossip? PM me.

PS How 'bout those Aussie's, eh? So many 'sorry's'...And tears! Ooh how I laughed  :D

To my knowledge the net Duma team are a U.K. based company and market all over the world including the EU. Look I’m not suggesting anything however

Oh dear, Sul. You do realise you cannot prefix a load of old cobblers with, "I'm not suggesting anything..." and then do precisely the opposite, don't you? It makes you look somewhat disingenuous.

Contradicting yourself aside, Sol, I'm intrigued as to what the thinking is behind your post? Perhaps you are going to be the figurehead and lead this amusing band of sceptics, pied piper-like, to the highest court in the land and win one for the little guy? No, probably not, eh..

Sil, next time you're tempted to tap out another little gem, and I say this purely for your edification and personal enlightenment, take a really deep breath, get control of yourself and mind your manners.

Good afternoon.

I don't disagree with anything you've said, Macca. What annoys me is some of these Oik's are blatantly calling Iain a liar. Insinuating, or flat-out saying, he's stuffing his mouth with Netgear gold and running for the hills.

IMHO, I think that's way outa line, and I'll call it when I see it.

(or until Z bans me  ;)  )

Tell us the truth then almighty as you seem to be. I call out liars (never said Ian is a liar btw just citing his twitter) if they make promises over and over (just a few more weeks, everything is ready just needs backward compatibility, just to name some, ridiculous) and can't stand ANY one of them.

And it's not outta way it's the damn actual situation we are facing which was developed by Netduma themselves. We just call it out!

The truth is tapping out the umpteenth post in frustration won't get DumaOS here any faster.

That was not what I am asking for as it is obviously and sadly a blind and brainless would have already accepted that. And its a shame.

You really believe they release it in the next time?? I want an honest answer, not a fanboy answer, thanks.

ps.: Why you are here with your umpteenth post to bash ppl expressing their frustration. Nobody asked for it coming faster in relation to expressing the feelings about the situation. We "frustrated" already got it for a long time that it will make nothing faster. Therefore more frustration will be voiced as its not a proper handling of the situation at first hand.

hello,

thanks for DumaOS team and thanks for all of you guys, R1 is working fine for about 2 years, i understand that we need that update but really we need the update without any issue's so why not just wait until Duma team finish it and ready to use!!

i believe they can push the update now but you will come back asking for help... fix this fix that!

the good thing is DumaOS will be for R1, they can be only for netgear router! and yeah why not only for netgear... because netgear more powerful than R1 router

so guys be patient please

thanks for DumaOs team and keep going for the great work.

I have issues with GUI on 4k monitors, I have constant restarts which wiping all my settings, R1 has no times zones, host analysis is not working ... Just to mention some. An update is more than urgent and is advertised for 2 years now.

Please tell us how much more patient we should be... maybe just a few more weeks? At this point, it would even better they just say it will never come and we can move on. But right now they are playing with us. This is ridiculous. BTW are u paid shill (you sound like Netdumas excuses all over)???

What if Netduma is planning on completely selling the Dumaos and give up all the rights then work for Netgear themselves. Ummm it makes me wonder!!

I wouldn't bet when the update is coming out or even if we'll ever get it. Just visited the dumaos.com site and it's been updated removing the image below

Sk_rmbild_2018_04_30_12_29_40.png

The update just has the following text and link to the netgear site:

Get DumaOS

DumaOS is available on the following platforms.

Subscribe to Netduma

The history block still states there will be a free upgrade to R1 though:

2018+
Further launches & Roadmap
DumaOS will soon be launched on the Netduma R1 (as a free upgrade) and the development of our Roadmap begins

Let's wait and see...

If I was Netgear, I'd be very interested reading this thread and the promises made by my software partner. I'd also be very concerned for the quality and roadmap of deliverables for my XR500 flagship product!

If you read down the page when it talks about 'Our history' is says 2018+ further launches and roadmap 'DumaOS will soon be launched on the Netduma R1 as a free upgrade and the the development of our Roadmap begins' I don't own an R1 just an XR500 but the new link posted still includes the R1.
