  1. Hi Hoping for some advice on an optimal setup please, I've had a read through the docs but can't figure out the best approach. Basically, all I want is to ensure that if im gaming, the vast majority of bandwidth is directed here, with everything else just getting the bandwidth it needs as required. Before I'd read the documentation, I had changed the bandwidth allocation to about 90% for gaming, however this made every other device practically unusable - I thought this meant that it would give 90% *when* i was gaming, but it seemed to always have 90% of the bandwidth hogged even if the console was off. Having read through some docs, Ive now enabled 'Auto-enable' under congestion control. I have also added the games console under traffic prioritization. I've reset 'Bandwidth allocation' and everything is 10% - is this still going to have the same effect as before? For example, will the categories now be limited to 10% regardless in the same way gaming was hogging the bandwidth before? Is there a way of turning bandwidth allocation off? Congestion control and traffic prioritization sound like they should do the job. Thank you! Adam
  2. tiring to setup CyberGhost VPN on Neduma R2 Router......
  3. Is there a fix for this? I recently purchased my first Nighthawk/ XR series / NetDuma router a couple weeks ago. Spent mad time setting it up to get it right. I updated the firmware, manually to XR1000, since the router never detected an available update. Afterward I kept receiving an error (picture), that says: TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'i.generateKey') I was advised (see link to Netgear post) by netduma guys on that forum to reset to factory defaults to clear the issue, and not to use a configuration file because it would reload whatever the problem is. The issue is persisting after the reset. I don't know what else to do but it's a real pain in the ass. Netgear Post: Re: Firmware Update Failed (RX1000)
  4. I could use some help. R2 arrived today I’ve spent the last several hours trying to get it to connect. My Netgear CM1000v2 (modem) holds my internet signal just fine but the R2 won’t maintain it. When I try to log into the router/ip address to register the router the website keeps giving me this error message: “could not detect an internet connection.” I’ve hard wired my computer to both the modem and router to get internet access but the R2 won’t give me a signal. Also, the internet & 2.4GHz light continually blink (as you can probably guess). I’ve never had such a hard time making a router work and I’m two seconds away from returning it for a refund. Any help you can give me is much appreciated, thanks -Izze
  5. i just recently got the netduma r2 and ive tried connecting it to just about everything the manual says i should be connecting it to in order to access the set up wizard or whatever its called. however, even when i connect everything to where it should be i am still unable to connect to my netduma. ive tried to setup the netduma every way possible and when i try setting the netduma up nothing works it says the password is incorrect. ive tried hooking it up to my ps4 directly so i can set it up through the browser since i do not have a pc that has an ethernet port and it is showing that the page "DumaOS/ " isn't available. ive also tried typing the ip address of the router into the browser as well and it shows its is unavailable just as shown by other users. is there any suggestions on how to properly set this thing up theres no videos anywhere (that i can find) to show how to properly hook this thing up to the modem or anything about ip configuration steps. any help would greatly be appreciated ive been trying to hook it up since 9 in the morning please end my suffering.

  7. Just received the R2 and have spent hours trying to connect to the Eir Fibre Network in Ireland. On setup for DHCP it requires Client Identifier ID and Vendor Class ID, I do not have this from my ISP or find them online, can anyone help me with finding these. The R2 is connected to the Huawei Bridge Router which is in turn connected to the ONT box, I have tried several time resetting the R2 and going through the setup with no luck. I can connect to DumaOS but don't see where I can adjust the DHCP settings to connect the router to Internet through the Huawei bridge router supplied by ISP. Please help...
  8. Hi There , i Just bought the r2 but the WiFi signal just isn’t cutting it.. so I want to use my tp-link Deco x20 mesh system for WiFi where the r2 is My main router that get’s a public static ip from my isp provider and the mesh WiFi system behind the r2 to give wifi to my devices but should i place the mesh WiFi systeem in acces point or just let it function as a normal router beginde the r2 ? I know if i do that i get double nat on the mesh WiFi router but it’s only use is for streaming or surfing not for gaming so is this setup ok or not ? Because i Dont want the devices connected to my mesh WiFi system to pop up on the r2 device manager list , so should i setup a seperate network to do this or just place my mesh WiFi system in acces point mode to actieve this ? Thanks in advance !

  10. I just recently purchased the XR500 and Arris SB8200 to replace my Nighthawk r7000 router and my Motorola SB6141 modem (and all new 5ft CAT-7 cables). My current situation...there are 3 of us in the house. I have a two Xbox ones and a PS4 hardwired to my XR500. Then, there are about 9 other devices that connect via wifi (most 2G and a few on 5G). There are many times where the two Xbox Ones are online at the same time, but I only use geo-filter for one of them (the one I play COD on). The router is located in the FROG where all online console gaming happens, but most wireless devices are used downstairs. My goal was to use the XR500 to improve my online gaming experience via geo-filter and have better WIFI presence downstairs. I need setup advice to help with my setup mentioned above. My first router upgrade choice was the Nighthawk X6S as it has 6 antennas. Will the XR500 work with my current setup? If not, should I just go with another router? p.s. I setup the new modem and router yesterday about 5PM EST and work up this morning and no internet when I tried looking on my iPhone. I was connected to the WIFI, but when I looked at the router the internet light was blinking (red or orange - I am colorblind lol). I tried resetting the modem, then the router and nothing. So, I left the router on and just reset the modem and it came back online (flashing white light). I hope this makes sense and if you need more information, please let me know. Thank you in advance!! mz
  11. I just switched from spectrum cable to CenturyLink fiber and I am having to change settings for the PPPoE. I have tried most of what I could find in other forums and online but when I enter the set up wizard it says there is no ethernet plugged in. It’s a brand new cord so I don’t think it’s that but I will try tomorrow. Is there any other know issues I should be considering?
  12. Is it possible to connect the netduma r1 through a powerline adapter?? 14. Hi, I'm new to this and haven't ordered a netduma yet but have a few questions first. I use by infinity and have an open reach box with a wire that plugs into the router to provide the landline. Is there a port on the netduma for the landline to plug in. My other question is how do I set it up? Do I just plug it in or do I need another router. I basically just want to plug it in and get the landline in the router and be able to connect and not require a second router or anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Also, sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum as I only just signed up.
  15. Hi, I have enable cookies ticked under misc settings prior to the power loss yet I lost some settings. The main issue is with the device manager. I had edited all the device names to reflect their use/owner and deleted some old ones no longer around but now those changes are gone. Also, I can't seem to get my router time use my PC clock time. I initially had to manually set the time to reflect my PC time as the NTP servers didn't seem to be doing anything. After a power loss (I'm on a UPS and had cookies enabled in the R1) the settings came back with the wrong time and I can't revert to using the NTP servers. I can still manually set the time but this behavior doesn't seem right. Are these known issues?
  16. Hi, I am a new user to netduma after reading all the great review about lag reduction in games. Being a avid 30 yr old gamer (when work and family permits) I was Experiencing a bit of lag, more recently with cod iw with those very annoying symbols on the left hand side. I have the 200mb virgin package but more realistic get about 95 down and 25 up. I bought the netduma and followed the steps and guide provided including putting my virgin super hub into modem mode. One note though is due to the house layout I have to use the netduma to Xbox one wirelessly rather than wired, however the latency from the router to the Xbox one, was more than manageable (about 40ms). I then applied the settings that are advised by netduma. However I noticed I was still getting the lag, more than usual. After extensive research on google, netduma forums and youtube (mainly sims and some other guy I can't recall) I went on dsl reports to do some testing. I got my 'buffer bloat' down to a B (best I could get it) by lowering my congestion control levels to 70/70 as suggested. I tried all the permutations I could think of and 15/20 gave me a buffer bloat of A but the rest D's. I then ran a speed test and I was getting 25 down and 4 up. I then ran cod iw and played a couple of games and the lag experienced made it unplayable. I have tried prioritisation for my Xbox and without and have tried turning on share excess and off. I don't actually know what else to do other than switch back to the virgin super hub and return the netduma (which I don't want to do). I am 80% sure this is probably my error, not netdumas and something simple but I can't seem to get my head around it. I can upload whatever you need to, wether it be screenshots or test results etc. Any help would be much appreciated.
  17. Hello I was curious to what settings i can use to best optimize overwatch on the PC. First off in the host filtering what default setting and or port(s) do i need to use. Second would i use the same settings for hyperservice. Are there any profiles i can download that optimizes overwatch? Lastly is it possible or beneficial for me to use any services like haste, wtfast or pingzapper? Also why don't i see any stats on Host History? Thanks:)
