  1. Hey so I've been using the original firmware for years and have had no issues with speed (I am able to get 80mpbs down) but after upgrading to the duma OS (both V2 and V3) My speeds are caped under 25mbps. My current setup is a tplink modem connected straight to the R1 on pppoe. Also I find it strange that the connection benchmark is reading at least 74mbps speed but my browser does not on my pc and neither does my phone on my WiFi mesh Network (they are all connected to the R1.
  2. Hey guys, so I bought an Xr1000 a couple of days ago and I just realized that the Upload Qos doesn't work, not even a little bit. The Qos Download works without any problems. I already saw some posts here and it looks like that this is a well known problem for over 2 years!? My Modem is the Draytek Vigor 165 - PPPoe does the Xr1000 so basically my setup is Draytek "Full Bridge Mode, none Vlan or PPPoe - XR1000" PPPoe, Vlan activate, DHCP. What can I do right now? Should I just wait for an firmware update which will be released idk in the next few Months or is there anything else I can do to make this pain in the ass, work? I saw some posts where someone mentioned that it should work if I just set up the Draytek with the PPPoe connection but I tried for like 5 hours but this shit didn't worked.... "im not an expert guys" So if someone could tell me what I should do step by step I would gladly appreciate it
  3. I have been reading through many threads on the forums and came across this one: Where he found a similar setting for anti-bufferbloat like I have, being very low compared to the recommended around 70%. I am using my Billion 8800AXL which is a modem&router, as a modem only in bridge mode; then the XR300 in PPPoE with the login details for my ISP. Is it best to keep it like this or use the Billion 8800AXL to connect to the internet PPPoE, and enter the Billion 8800AXL IP address in the 'Default DMZ Server' settings in the XR300? (and change the 'Does your Internet connection require a login?' to 'No').
  4. So I having very annoying issues with my XR700 and Centurylink gigabit internet. Basically to use the XR700 on Centurylink fiber, I have to do the following steps: 1. Switch the Internet Setup to require a login connection (Use PPPoe) https://i.imgur.com/YQNtG7u.png 2. Enter PPPoe credentials, switch it to always on, leave everything as automatic 3. Turn on VLAN/Bridge settings, select by VLAN tag group, and change the VLAN ID to 201: https://i.imgur.com/7c4vOwg.png 3a. (Century link needs all traffic to the ONT to be prefixed with 201) So after I set up all these settings, I am connected to the internet successfully. However, I keep getting disconnected for about 2-5 seconds then it reconnects again. this makes it real annoying browsing the web, talking on discord, gaming, etc. I confirmed this by running a simple ping test: https://i.imgur.com/igen9gZ.png As you can see it pings to google.com fine for a bit, then it poops out, then it works fine for a bit, etc. Is there anything I can besides just return the router? I tried both firmware and the original factory firmware.
  5. I just switched from spectrum cable to CenturyLink fiber and I am having to change settings for the PPPoE. I have tried most of what I could find in other forums and online but when I enter the set up wizard it says there is no ethernet plugged in. It’s a brand new cord so I don’t think it’s that but I will try tomorrow. Is there any other know issues I should be considering?
  6. I have noticed a possible error with on the Xr500. I did a dns leak test whilst connected to my vpn provider and noticed a leak. I went and changed dns servers and my connection went dead, not even a reboot would restore the link. I had to start the "setup wizard" in order for the link to be established. I did not have to go through the setup completely just until i put in my pppoe credentials. It is a long time since I did a dns leak test so not too sure if it is the current firmware. I would need other members to try and change dns who have pppoe to know for sure.
  7. Hello, I have the new Netgear XR500 DumaOS powered router having upgrded from a Netduma R1. The unit has had problems since day one and intially refused to establish a internet connection to my ISP with the setup wizard failing everytime. Instead I connected my XR500 to my Netgear DM200 modem in routrer mode. Not wishing to be defeated I tried again to get the XR500 connected directly. This time I set the VLAN tag my ISP requires (101) in Adavanced option, then I went back to Internet settings and tried again. Success, the XR500 connected. For a few days all was well but the the host filtering stopped working for one of my connected devices. Fraser at Netduma assisted but could not resolve so I restarted the XR500. Since then the XR500 refuses to connect to my ISP. I have tried hard resseting the device and going through all the steps I followed previously to no avail. If I swap my DM200 back into modem/router mode it works fine with all the same settings. If I swap an old Zyxcel router with Vigor modem everything works fine also. I'm with IDNET in the UK who require a VLAN ID tag of 101 but nothing else especially different in their set-up. Can anyone help?
  8. Hello everyone! I usually used a PPPoE configuration on my PS4 on my ISP router to get NAT type 1. Now with my Netduma I can’t obtain an IP address with the same configuration. If I set automatic LAN settings the console can connect to the internet but with NAT 2. Do someone know how to solve this issue?
  9. Hi all, I've just switched providers today and have a new PPPoE login for my internet service. My cuurent set-up is Huawei HG612 > Netduma. Now here's the catch, when i enter the details of my PPPoE into the Netduma and click apply i cant connect to the internet. But i can connect directly when I hardwire my laptop to the modem. So i know there's no issues with the cabling or the modem itself. Ive applied a full factory reset on the Netduma numerous amount of times but to no avail. At this moment in time ive currently changed my setup and have a netgear nighthawk which is working just fine once i entered the PPPoE details. When i rang the tech support from my isp he did tell me that the netduma is still trying to connect with the previous PPPoE details and asked if i could clear the cache and try again. Ive re-booted and done atleast 3 factory resets already but cant log on. Ive checked over the PPPoE details numerous times but to no avail?? What is going on?? Screenshots available upon request. All help is greatly appreciated, Regards
  10. Hi: My NetDuma cannot connect to the internet (wifi or hardwired). When I tested a Netgear Nighthawk X4S it was able to connect to the internet both wifi and hardwired. I have been in contact with someone from NetDuma via email, but I figured I would use the forum. While connected via Ethernet, I am able to connect to the Netduma interface. WAN settings currently are: WAN MAC Address - Disabled WAN VLAN - Disabled IPv6 - Enabled MTU - Enabled PPPoE - Disabled WAN IP - Disabled Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
