I recently installed a Netgear Nighthawk XR500 as an upgrade from my original Netduma R1 router. Since I completed the switch, I have had trouble connecting to others in a chat party. The one that I have the most trouble with is someone that is actually located within my Geo-Filter range. I added them to the "Allowed" connections list in the Geo-Filter, but the issue still persists. They will connect to the chat party ,but neither of us can hear each other and we both see the other with a spinning wheel. After some 5-10 minutes it decides to miraculously connect us. I also Port Forwarded the following ports: 1935, 3478-3480 on TCP and 3074, 3075, 3076, 3077, 3078, 3079 on UDP. Just wondering why this might be happening and if there is any way to fix this.

hi. very recently (about just under a week) I’ve not been able to stay in a PS5 party chat very long. not sure if related but ps5 had an update last week. ivd had ps5 about a month and it’s been fine. I keep getting booted , some times within a minute or sometimes in 5 mins out of party chat with friends. So I have to resort to using game chat my PS4 still works flawlessly. my internet is virgin media Uk. 220 down and around 20 up. Virgin hub 3.0 in modem only mode (pink light) I still get these speeds when doing ps5 speed test and can download from psn store at full speed and upload game clips IN PS5 connection status it says NAT type 2. PS4 has the same but works fine geo filtering is off so to recap, everything is fine except I can’t stay in a party chat for long, keep getting booteD any help is appreciated

I have set it to Allow everyone in my party but still can't connect consistently. Sometimes I can hear them or some of them and other times they can hear me.

Hi I have a XR500 and the firmware is V2.3.2.40 I have no voice chat during games or lobbys. I have UNuP enabled, geo filter set to South Australia and 2500 KM so the radius is around the whole country. I have tried disabling SIP ALG, using dns 8.8.8.8/8.8.4 4 and mtg 1473 (worked on my old router but that's stuck in bridge mode and between the wall and netgear) I also tried dns 1.1.1.1/9.9.9.9 and no luck. I have tried almost everything I can find online but noting works. Was hoping some one knows a fix to this issue? Cheers P.

Hi. Suddenly and for no reason I cannot join anyone in a psn party chat when using the netduma. I have tried using another router with the exact same config as the netduma and it works fine either by using upnp or by port forwarding, but no matter what I do with the duma I cannot use party chat due to nat issues. However it works fine over wifi (but gaming over wifi is not an option). I have an open nat type in the game but this is a party chat issue and it is really starting to piss me off. Yes, I have done the standard reboot and reset of the netduma.

The Instructions on DMZ/Portforwarding did not set me to an OPEN NAT Type... The issues are as follow... with GEO Filter disabled (not even set up yet)... I still continue to receive a Moderate NAT Type on COD Infinite Warfare. I tried Opening Ports instead and that seemed to work. The Port that OPENs ALL and is a BE ALL is 3074. That doesn't inherently fix that NAT type issues however that exist with PSN Chat. If I forego the NetDuma R1 and use the Router (Linksys AC1200+) or any notable Gigabit router for that matter I don't have any of those issues with PSN Chat (PORT ISSUES). Even though I've placed the Netduma on DMZ it's not behaving as if it was on the DMZ... I tried this with the Actiontec MI424WR I as well with the same negative results... It's quite frustrating to think that this "WORLDS" greatest gaming router can't handle two of the most COMMON routers, 1 being the MOST common in American Households today given that it operates Verizon FIOS in Northern America. MY ISP is Verizon FIOS 300/300 and I can't even utilize the full network features because for some reason whether it be firewall/layer/firmware not even bridging fixes the issue... I've concluded that Port Forwarding Opens the ports but DMZ a conventional solution on typical routers connected to modems that works 100% of the times does not work on a router-router configuration... I've exhausted many hours and pages upon pages of support and text... Yet to no avail have found no solution to this... You need a firmware update desperately to append these negative results...
