Wired the router performs well. But the current firmware version of duma os 3.0 on this R2 router has WiFi issues. Example the wifi range and speed is limited and some of my device dont connect very well. Also I have to reboot the router everyday once so the wifi that is working keeps working or else it just stops connecting. There is suppose to be a firmware update coming out this week to help with wifi issues. Currently I would say buying a R2 is like paying for early access to a game. Expect issues and updates. I for sure keeping my XR500 waiting for the duma os 3 release or beta due to the better hardware. I rely on my wifi for common device like smart phones tablets...ets so its important for me to have it be reliable.

Glad u sorted it. Just remember when you have a port in use by a game it will show as closed in port scanning tools.

@Satan1976 I love solving issues like this. When you change your router you also change your pc network firewall, can you check your pc firewall under both conditions of r2 and xr300 you may find that you have to add the game to the new network.
For me my r2 says network 2 when i hover over the icon in system tray and when i have my xr it just says network. so please check.
The quickest way to test this theory is to disable the firewall completly and restart your pc and try.

@Flipmode I havent done a lot of gaming since lockdown, but i do fiddle about. My latency to game servers in eastern europe is very low of 25ms in locations. Depending where you are in the uk, you can be routed through liverpool or london.
On the day before my switchover i disconnected from the phone socket multiple times as i thought this would be the best time to make changes as my line would get a dlm reset on switchover day. However its been a couple of months now and my sync is 72Mbps compared to before it was the full 80Mpbs, but this is not really down to supplier.
I have had no disconnections and support offers a ticket system if needed, and as you mentioned your tied to a 12 month contract and unable to move to FTTP unless you pay the remainder on your FTTC. The links they have to game servers are really good. I have got mid 80ms to parts of the usa, aus and japan is about 250ms, all of which are on  ping heatmap for fortnite. comes with ipv6 that also works with the r2.
They do supply a free modem/router, i have discovered that mine came broken i have not made a ticket for it as i dont plan on using it.
Speed test throughout the day are very consistant. Take the plunge you wont be disappointed.

I only play cod. I havent played much even though I'm on furlough i think game play is subjective. I can only go off of how I feel and I feel great about it.

@Rdot i recently joined Ghostgb just over a month, and so far its good. my base ping to london from south wales is 10ms, and to the netherlands its less than 24ms, which is really good. They have direct connections with some gaming services. like steam, xbox.amazon and google to name a few. The parent company is called structured communications. 12 month contract. currently with 30% knocked off.

What you have to know first is that the majority of the pings returned are not 100% true. To show you this grab the ip addresses from geo or ping heatmap and run it through a cmd promt using the tracert.
You will see that the last hops are unreachable, but the figures shown in geo filter and ping heatmap will show you the last reachable ping. In some cases this reachable ping will be the same as end destination.
Also to continue to show you this, if you check the in game ping say on Modern Warfare and compare it to that of the geo filter you will also see this.
In my conclusion the closer you live to a particular server the ping returned is going to be pretty close. You need to adjust your ping assist to a higher value to get what you want.

That is down to your provider of ipv6 and their routing.

    ipv6 works perfect with qos,
So far ipv6 works when connecting via PPPoE, Does not work when behind another router, as that router has no way of passing the right info to the r2.
I was shocked. others on the r2 beta also enquired about specs, and also no such information was on my box packaging, maybe this has changed since that feedback was given. I hope so.
I think there will be people who buy because they do have the money to throw at it. Some will think its brilliant some wont.

The XR500 is the more powerful hardware so it's unlikely the WiFi of the R2 will match the 500 but it is definitely better than the R1 and does have AC WiFi this time around (yay!). We think it is suited for large homes. The selling point of the R2 is that it is direct from us, it's optimized for DumaOS and it will receive updates much faster. If you need better hardware then the XR series is for you.

    1) Since the R2 will come with DumaOS 3.0, can we assume that the OS will be in great shape by then? Or will the R2 customers be part of the then ongoing DumaOS 3.0 Beta.
    2) Does the R2 have full IPv6 support? Refering to the issues from the IPv6 support tickets from the last few month.

The port closes when utorrent is exited. To test simply disable firewall on the pc its preformed on.
But I guess ur concern is, while playing a game u feel that the ports are closed, and testing it on the above site confirms ur suspicion.
First you would need to find some1 that can show open when game is being played, b4 u can go any further. I can not get open this way. I dont think you can  but nothing wrong with trying. Good luck
