Sorry to hear about your eye mate and consequences you've suffered due to it.

I can clear up a few things. The delay for Nighthawk(NH) availability outside of the US is due to NETGEARs distribution system. It just takes longer to reach different centres and channels, I don't know the details but that is the main reason. Also we need to fully integrate language translation into NH which we're doing at the moment. I know UK speaks English obiviousy but NG distributes in terms of regions. So UK is part of EU. To distribute to EU you need language translation for many countries.

DumaOS is not delayed on the R1 by NG. They have no such control over what we do with our own hardware and when we do it. We are partners with NG, we do not work for them, cannot state that more clearly. R1 is delayed due to hardware challenges we're solving at the moment namely automatic turbo mode(fastpath) which is required by DumaOS (user doesn't have to fiddle with UI to get max speeds) and finally how configurations are partitioned (hopefully making DumaOS unbrickable).

Finally our hardware will have more features because we will create experimental features based on our roadmap and community feedback. Only when NG approves of a new feature will it go on their router. So likely the NG will slightly behind our hardware in terms of bleeding edge features. Which for the typical consumer is ideal as they don't want to test out stuff that may not be useful or is complicated. But if you're that way inclined then enjoy the experience with our hardware.

Hope that clears up everything for you(Big Dog) and anyone else reading this thread. Here's to a very tech productive 2018!

Sorry to hear about your eyesight BD,that's a huge kick in the balls to say the least. And I'm guessing that the "early retirement" was also not your idea.

People that don't know any better say "that's great early retirement" but if it's due to your situation and not your idea, it sucks.

I would find some hobbies or do something on the side to keep you busy as people tell me that it helps.Just don't become sedentary, stay as active as you can.

Hope things work out well for you...

    Hi all.

Initially I was pissed as there was no info on the UK release of the Nighthawk and it was US release only (for the moment) and with Netduma being a UK software company I was frustrated. This was due partly to april being a 17 month period since Netduma posted a tweet of the DumaOS also personally I am losing my eyesight and have been forced to take early retirement and voluntary redundancy so my frustration came out yesterday.

Netduma are a fantastic company and I have huge respect for them and also the moderators on here and everyone in the forum who helps each other.

So let's all stop whining about having to wait til April 17th/18th for the DumaOS........at the end of the day you are getting a completely new OS and not an update of the current firmware FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!

So let's all stop whining, have a group hug and look forward to DumaOS as it will be amazing!!!!!!!!!

that is because the states gets 1st dibs on it by the looks of it. Not us UK users, oh no, not us! But if netduma's hands are tied with t's n c's enforced by netgear than that may be why. Still sucks with netduma being a UK company.

Seems to be the complete opposite when it comes to an Activision game, low ping minimal jitter = trash connection and high ping/jitter = unstoppable spongebob with wanted bullets.

If you have geo-filter disabled you can not ban the server, when you say it doesnt work when enabling is this after you turn geo-filter on as there is an anti cheat feature on the netduma which takes 2 minutes i think.

Neither console runs games at true 4k 60 FPS... They do all kinds of tricks and up-scaling to get the games at 4k. 4k 60 FPS is literally pushing the hardware to 110% the entire time. I'd much rather do 1080p and be using 30% of the CPU and GPU to make sure my game runs better.

Even $1200 PC graphics cards can barely do 4k 60 FPS, so how can a console that is half that cost do it? Impossible.

I assume you have the LG 27UD88-W?

I'd take a really good 1080p panel over a 5ms GTG 4k. Going from my 144hz 1080p Benq to a 75 inch LG 15ms 4k TV I can feel the insane amount of input lag.

In my opinion we just aren't ready for 4k gaming yet. Especially when the drawbacks far outweigh the benefits of it.

I like to run stealth too. That doesn't make you a bad player, it makes you a player that finds camping, waiting and ADSing constantly, an unrewarding and boring experience. And you'd be right.

I've always liked doing a bit of everything, run+gun stealth, run+gun care-free maniac, mid-range assault, cautious attempt at 'flawless', sniping, maximum irritation*.
Sometimes go lock-down to make sure of the win in tough lobbies, I mean when you patrol a mid-size area (I'm thinking 'Fallen' on MW3), not full-on corner camping a room but not wandering off into a teammate's area elsewhere on the map either.
*Maximum irritation like where your team claymore a bunch cars, then bait enemies to walk past and then blow them all up by shooting the claymores. Tricking noobs into amusing deaths, etc.

And playing as a team where you tactically decide who is going to play with what setup, two snipers placed in these two areas, 1 noisy mid-range assault to keep the enemy occupied, 1 silenced mid-range assault to confuse them, 2 stealth rushers to ruin the enemy from the flanks.

Whatever happened to that CoD? That's what I'm missing.

This CoD seems to be all about picking a gun that is the least likely to see you get destroyed, searching the length of the map carefully for enemies and then searching back the other way because you didn't find any, wondering where the hell they might come from in the maze because they could be anywhere, frenzied 50/50 random luck gun-waving hipfire jumping-drop-shot encounters, 50/50 random luck head-glitch flinch+recoil shoot-outs, trying to avoid snipers on Gustav and USS Texas, trying to avoid grenade spam, trying to avoid getting shot in the back, waiting to regenerate health. I'm just finding it boring.

Would love to see you do that infact why don’t you? Post a few games on YT of you flanking and killing people using smoke grenades without issues. I’d be very interested in seeing it action as things are easier said than done. Feel free to post your video here. Don’t forget the sound whoring and unsuppressed gun you’ll be using so good luck!

That will help you once (I assume you only have one smoke) to cross an area but it won't help when you run into the rest of the team that are randomly camping and head-glitching every other corner on the flank route. Or when you get shot in the back as soon as you go past another camp spot. Or when you finally get there and you put 5 bullets into the camper and they one-shot your foot. Or when you kill the camper but then everyone knows where you are so you have to run out into the open, as grenades are surely coming within 5 seconds, while you're one-shot from dead, etc.

There is definitely something weird about the aiming in the game. I had played for a few miserable hours catching lead like a clay pigeon.

Nothing terrible about my aim just my weapons firing NERF darts or maybe cotton wools balls as they did little else to the enemy than give my position away.

If the guns aren't going to kill them no point giving them my position; I think we need a new game mode called "Oliver Twist". Objective run round trying to steal wallets out of their back pockets trying not to get shot"

Anyway back to the point, aiming was okay until past midnight when suddenly I not could keep ADS on the enemy even at a few metres. Cross hairs just flew to either side of target. I suspect game was so out of sync aim assist was putting hairs on where target was but gameplay was far behind. I gave up and cried myself to sleep......

I always have A+ across the board with regular settings. Although I don't actually game with other devices online most of the time, I average 1ms bloat with 0% packet loss and around 0.1ms jitter with my 7ms latency to my local server.

My one and only smooth game on WW2 involved me forcing around 20% packet loss so I got an F grade for line quality. You'll even see me using F as a clan tag in the video I'm about to link, just because I like keeping track of what I do in case I finally find something that makes the game work. Not only was there a drastic difference in time to react - a NORMAL time to react where I'm not being instantly beamed only for a killcam to show me a stuttering wifi goon was drawing Zs across me with 3 sensitivity and dogshit accuracy - but the hit detection was the best I'd seen to that point. If you think my hit detection looks "meh, that's normal" or even bad in this game - and I don't know what's considered good feel wise in this title because I haven't had any hit detection - then just know every other game has been self harm-inducing in comparison lol

No wonder all the hexagon YouTubers from IW are tearing it up. Dropping packets full of information about shots landing is how to improve hit detection apparently! Seriously though I'm confused. I haven't even bothered server hopping yet... I just wanted 7ms to be playable so I don't get worldstarred by people with no eyes every gunfight.

I put Ghosts on the other day and got flawless hit reg on a 6.7ms player host even though the lobby was full of people spread out far and wide. Even IW, a game I've had terrible issues with, makes WW2 look unplayable. I had a 7.48KD for the week last time I got on IW, playing endless parties and sweats with nothing but nonlethal streaks in TDM, and I go negative to awful players in WW2 on the same connection because I'm suddenly half a second behind the action while basically host? Yeah ok hahaha. I warm up vs extra health hardened bots on WW2 to sharpen both reaction time and sustained precision, can go 100-7 against wall hacking, prefiring throwing knife users that don't miss, then go online and suddenly I can't aim because players will have some invisible barrier over them pushing my aim back as if 14 sens is too slow
