toby jugs got a reaction from Netduma Admin in Stadia
i watched their live stream the other day, this is bound to upset the industry apple cart, it seems so user friendly and i'm excited by it.
being as google has literally thousands of their own servers i reckon connections would actually improve for some , particularly the middle east players who are usually on the euro dedis, this would improve the experience of the whole lobby if this was no longer the case...surely.
they reckoned they'd reduce a lot of lag by using more direct routes and less hops, but i didn't buy the controller bit.
with 5g around the corner the wifi really wouldn't be an issue anymore would it???

Being as stadia won't need dedicated hardware and the fact it would be so youtuber/streamer friendly, i reckon it will blow up big time very quickly, they won't care about a small % of hardcore fps players not willing to make the leap.
fingers crossed they don't want much more than about 30 quid a month for it, i can only hope!

Yeah that's open. You'd just need to port forward that to the second console and according to CoD that allows open NAT on the second console but really if both are showing open/type 2 in console network settings I wouldn't worry too much

i rebooted the router and it is working again, i see there's now a few people reporting issues with modules not loading in another thread.

    A reboot should solve it.

Not seen this on QoS before so think this is a very niche bug. Try resetting as PB said. Let us know if it doesn't work.

Have you rebooted the R1? If you have rebooted and the issue still persists I would advise factory resetting.

toby jugs reacted to Netduma Luke in Announcement: DumaOS on Netduma R1 in Final Beta Testing
We have some good news to share: DumaOS for the Netduma R1 is now in the final stages of beta testing!
As many of you know, this has taken so much longer than we anticipated, but our developers have now resolved all the major issues. This means that DumaOS for the R1 is stable and crucially, backwards compatible, so you can go back to the original R1 firmware if you prefer. A big thank you to all the beta testers who worked tirelessly with us to get to this point.
We are tidying up some last loose ends to make it ready for full release. We will let you know it is ready to download across all our media platforms. Be sure to sign up to the DumaOS mailing list so you are the first to know when it's out.
    Stay tuned!

It is an issue when said update remains vapourware after 2 years with little in the way of information or support. There's nothing entitled about expressing disappointment that a promise has not been delivered and a deadline has been missed with no follow-up.

Honestly, I'm thrilled with the Netgear partnership because on top of the vastly superior hardware and AC wireless / WPS support, the XR500 router has back-end configuration options like a DMZ and internal / external port mapping typically found on other routers but absent from the R1. So a big tick there.

I've just unboxed the XR500 10 minutes ago, plugged it in, logged into the backend, changed my LAN back to 192.168.88.X, renamed the SSID and boom...my network of close to 80 devices is back up and running. I was expecting to spend the entire day troubleshooting.

DumaOS is gorgeous, I'm really pleased with it and it's easy to see where all of the time and effort over these past two years has gone. Naming the DumaOS release A7Legit is a really nice touch, so kudos to the boys there.

But at this stage, I'd rather Netduma come out and say "If you want the full DumaOS experience, upgrade to XR500" than pretend the R1 is going to get anywhere near close to the XR500 experience, if at all possible on the old hardware. At a glance, DumaOS eats too much CPU and RAM to be viable on the R1 without cutting some serious corners.

I appreciate that NetDuma is stuck between a rock and a hard place by offering DumaOS support for the R1. I would encourage anyone who can afford to, to simply bypass this mess completely and fork out for an XR500. A token gesture of a discount would help ease the pain and set a positive tone for the future.

If anti-jitter and anti-spike find their way to the XR500, all is forgiven. If I can get colour-coded peers on the Geo-filter and selectively block them based on Ping, I'll be in gaming nirvana!

And what in the name of Greek buggery is going on here?

Dissension among the rank and file? The great unwashed daring to get ideas above their station? Such treachery would not have been tolerated during my time roaming these esteemed halls.

And never mind page after page of this self-entitled, whiny, conspiracy bullshit. Why hasn't the knuckle-dragging Vanilla lowland been unleashed to quell this foetid uprising? Who has the dubious honour of holding the keys to his cage nowadays? - @Crossy, @Fraser, @JD, @Zenon??

To the rabble-rousers, a word in your shell-likes...
You may think you're pretty good at this bitchfesting thingy, so you will be disheartened to learn you're all pretty shit at it. None of the barbs resonate because they're tired, rehashed and, quite honestly, pathetic compared to what's gone before. They smack of pre-pubescent angst and the ramblings of admonished children; consequently, nothing hits home. Overall, it makes you look terminally stupid so put away the scatter-gun approach to insults and veiled threats. Stop ejecting toys from prams and wait politely in their house for your FREE upgrade.

@Fuzzball - By my return, I expect to see your opposable toes firmly gripping the throats of these pusillanimous little skid marks. I sense the peasants are revolting, and it's 'Vitai Lampada' time for the Duma Army and its brethren.

Up your game, tout de bloody suite, Son.

    Hey Luke, Fraser or Iain,

As the release was only to be delayed by "a few more weeks at the absolute most", and it's been a few more weeks, could we please at least have some info on what's happening if the update itself isn't to be deployed yet?

    Many thanks,
    Every patiently waiting Netduma fanboy.

toby jugs reacted to Netduma Luke in DumaOS Update - Recent Progress
A long awaited update on DumaOS

We have made a lot of progress over the past few weeks. The OS is currently being beta tested by more of our UK based users and their feedback has been great. Thanks to their testing we have been able to make the OS very stable. This is a big milestone. DumaOS is such a big undertaking so getting to this point, where we know the firmware is solid, is a very good feeling.

Now we have stability we can shift our focus to usability. This means making things as easy as possible to use and much more 'plug and play' than the current R1 firmware. For example, we have developed an 'Auto Congestion Control' feature, which automatically applies Anti-flood and Hyper Traffic whenever you are gaming (this can be turned off by the more experienced users who prefer to manually configure things).

Once usability is in place we can then widen the beta to more users. So this means we will be expanding the beta pool soon through the Coal Mine. Open Beta should then follow not long afterwards. We've deliberately not given exact dates here - it'll be ready when it's ready!

After usability comes the fun stuff, when we can create many new features that we have in our Development Roadmap. We will continue to roll these out on a regular basis even after DumaOS is fully launched, meaning your router will just keep getting better and better.

Finally we just want to say thank you for all your support and patience. We realise it's frustrating when we don't send out status updates so we're going to make sure we do more to keep you guys in the loop. What we will say is be assured we are working as hard as we can to get DumaOS ready. It's a big step up for our company so we want it out there as much as you do. But only when it's ready!

    Thank you for your understanding,

    The Netduma Team

Follow this for the map http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022408-why-can-t-i-see-anything-on-the-geo-filter-do things show up now?

Are ALL devices connected to the Netduma? If so then CC will work correctly unless you have super turbo ticked which would disable it. I am happy to do a one on one if my suggestions don't work.
