the ping will be you to the server or host. The only true way to know your ping is through running a ping test through cmd prompt, pingplotter or speedtest.net they will all  give you your actual base ping.

Just a couple of suggestions. You can use upnp to set port-forwarding rules automatically. Or you can manually set the rules yourself by using port-forwarding but I would not use both because there is the possibility of running into conflicts.  Also if you are getting packet loss on the router side with ping plotter I would suggest looking into remedying bufferbloat/network congestion by using the qos function in the router.

that is fine, no need to worry. I cannot remember exactly why but Netduma did comment on this in another thread some while ago. All I know is it nothing for you to worry about.

graph looks ok as the slight packet loss is not on the final hop so all packets are getting through.

You guys are amazing, that did the trick. Thanks for such quick replies. Here I was thinking about more complicated issues and it was a simple cache clear.

Been fighting my XR500 since launch and after a warranty replacement didn’t fix things I decided it had to be my power line.  Turns out that’s apparently what it was, checked voltage and it was a bit low, but I think it dipped lower at times and that’s when I’d get reboots.   Finally bit the bullet and bought a UPS backup and have been problem free for a month since.  There have been times over the year I had a month or even more without issue so I’m not 100 percent yet, but it’s been daily resets or at least weekly for a while so I think I’m good.
Just wanted to thank Jack, Frazier and everybody else who have helped me with all kinda ideas as well as beta firmware trying to fix the issue.  Also sorry my bad for being pissed that the router was to blame at times, but I’ve never had an issue before and my last nighthawk also had non related issues at two addresses.  Seems the nighthawk doesn’t play well with crumby power companies and or lines and is kinda sensitive to fluctuation more so than any of my other electronics.
So to other guys who also had random reboots for what seemed to be no reason trying a 60 dollar UPS seemed to fix mine at this point and may be a good place to start.
Thanks netduma and netgear for what at least now is a router I’m really enjoying again just as I had my R1 before this.

swines. You will need a static ip address then if that is what they are telling you which is causing you nat restrictions. That is a bit shadey of them and I certainly wouldn't be with a company which pulls crap like that on it's customers. It looks like you are using a shared ip address.....YUK! CGNAT = Carrier Grade Nat.
I have a static ip with my ISP, but It was what I wanted and it comes in handy when accessing my files away from home etc etc
CGNAT is used by telcos running short of public IPv4 addresses. By deploying CGNAT, a mobile network or ISP can stick a bunch of customers – typically small businesses and home subscribers – on private IPv4 addresses and route them through a small set of global IPv4 addresses.
