Numo36 reacted to santa78 in ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
The XR500 still doesn't have a final version for DumaOS 3? It's been 7 months since the 1st wave of beta was opened ...
And the beta for the XR700 which has only been available for a few days, the final version will be available in 2022 ....

Numo36 reacted to Mobel in ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE
@Killhippie i am gonna keep it short and simple.
I am a customer who bought a router that has been released for 2 years so expect at least support for the coming 2-3 years.
I bought a Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR700 in 2018 i didnt buy a R9000 in 2016 or "18 so I expect some support for the product that i bought.
And about the TV's, 1 u can't compare a tv with a router and 2 tv's get software and firmware updates even years after release.
And I had a ASUS GT-11000AX in summer 2019, that WiFi 6 is not so big as u think, there are not even so much devices that support it, back then my Samsung S10 was the only device i had that have WiFi 6 and in my case i use wired connection for gaming.

Numo36 reacted to Netduma Fraser in ANNOUNCEMENT: The Netduma R2 is here
Some results for you:
QoS On:
Download 860Mbits/sec
Upload 821Mbits/sec
QoS Off:
Download 890Mbits/sec
Upload 833Mbits/sec
It does work with QoS etc and we're continuing to ensure they work harmoniously.
Not currently no but may utilize this more in the future.
The XR routers do have more powerful hardware, so if that is what you're after then would recommend those but if you want a router that is optimized for DumaOS and will receive updates quicker then the R2 would be a good choice.

I'm not saying that, we just want it to as bug free as we can make it. The more people that test it the more bugs will be found.

Numo36 reacted to GHOST-1-EC in User Complaint Video (Youtube Gamer)
So this was just posted...... i am over the update and bug fix crap but i also cannot just let it be........ this gamer has promoted the product on his platform all the time....... i'm not sure what tipped the scales for him but i know how frustrating the lack of transparency can be.
@Netduma Admin this is for your attention - alot of users are switching to other routers...... i personally have just tried to make the best of what i have (xr500) and set things up as best i could - my gameplay speaks for itself but i cannot not say anything and leave you guys to continue the way you are with no clear timelines on the upcoming updates.
Use this as constructive criticism!!!

Numo36 reacted to raikun in COVID-19 and what it means for Netduma
Ok folks, today is the fateful day. I am no longer a Netduma user. Waited patiently (and not so patiently at times) for any new releases, but as of this morning, I went back to my ol' trusty Netgear WNDR3800 with OpenWRT LEDE, and I gotta say, for a device that was shoved in the back of a closet (much like my Netduma), it sprung to life with efficiency and gusto.
Good luck to all of you, and hopefully will go back when DumaOS 3.0 is out and available for BrainOS and AI devices in the near 2050. Stay safe out there!

Why do I think of Fyre Festival every time a Netduma rep creates a new hype thread?

Numo36 reacted to sabarblade in LanCache For Consoles
I have an idea that might have already been put out there but this would be absolutely amazing if it could work, imagine the router is connected with a dedicated hard drive that stores all game updates from call of duty, Battlefield warframe etc. This would be extremely useful if someone has more than one PS4/XB1/PC or is hosting a LAN party so it doesn't use up all the available bandwidth or at least makes it quicker to get games up and running. Just putting this out there, let me know your opinions.
here's a concept of it working on PC

We'll be making announcements soon regarding the beta so stay tuned!

Numo36 reacted to Zippy in Can we please get (or crowd fund) a new Netduma branded router?
That's the only way I will ever purchase another router from Netduma. It has to be Netduma only!!! And not a Netduma/Netgear router.
Zippy.

Numo36 reacted to Netduma Jack in Xr700
To force a game using the Geo-Filter. find out where the server is then set your home location on top of it. Reduce your distance slider really small and turn on Strict Mode. Reboot your console after this.
Some games react really badly to this though - if the server you're forcing is unavailable you'll likely not be able to connect. It's always worth trying though

Numo36 reacted to Netduma Jack in Ping assist advice
Ping Assist secures you a game host with a ping less than the value you choose. If you had a high base ping (e.g 20ms), you'd need to set your Ping Assist value to something higher, maybe 40 or 50ms. That's because you can't physically connect to games with a lower ping than your base ping, and you also need to account for distance.
50ms is generally a good choice. If you want to filter using only Ping Assist, set your home location in the middle of the ocean and your Distance slider to the lowest value. Then you can't connect using the radius any more, and your game is only able to connect to hosts chosen by Ping Assist
