As it stands, we don't have a determined date to end the launch discount price. We've just announced today that we are extending the discount period, so people who didn't get the chance to pre-order can take advantage of the great price too.
Once we've decided when the launch discount window closes, we'll give everyone fair warning so people will still have time to buy.

I am not included in their group regarding the R1. So take my comment's as only my opinion on the matter. But if I had to guess, the current build they have for the R1, just isn't ready for more testers. When you all see delay's, and things get quiet for a little bit. Just think a little bit. Work is likely being done a good amount, to fix some current issues, before the beta starts.
To be real honest with some of the comments I have seen in this thread. I feel some people expect the beta to be great at the start, and be able to use it, without any issues. People need to calm down their expectations. As the early part of most beta's are pretty buggy, and the hope is none of the bugs are in the "major" category. 

Glad i've still got my R1,if i get into the beta i will set it up between my ps4 and xr500 so i can try test out the new features.
People should be happy that r1 support has not dropped and we're getting new firmware on it.

As much as i'd love to get it,i understand fully its a patience thing aswell,
Tbh i know theres people with issues on their routers but i haven't encountered anything a quick reboot doesn't sort out anyway (changing geo filter location)
Hopefully news and feature previews will still be coming in to keep us hyped,and gratz to everyone who got in,this firmware doesn't seem like the next level but the level after that in terms of functionality.

I believe those selected for the first batch should have already received their emails - do double check spam/junk folders just in case - so if you don't have one then you won't have made it into the first batch. Keep an eye out though for the next batch.

Well I'm sure with the start of the beta, they would rather people who have got in keep it to themselves. Obviously once anyone is testing the beta.. that's what the beta forums is for on Netgear's site. Which means keep things under wraps. I'm sure there's some kind of NDA for testing the beta build.

Usually closed betas do have a somewhat strict NDA and as it transitions into an open beta the rules relax but even then there is a NDA in regards to what can be done and shown.

Bullshit, skill is long ago gone in COD. COD is very connection depending. If someones server sync is better than yours, no matter what you'll lose the gunfights all day long.

1.The R1 and XR series will work with any isp modem/router,sometimes you may need a username password if you're on ppoe
2.That depends on your speeds really bear in mind the QOS (congestion control or cc) bufferbloat sliders will only work if the R1 is the main router,so a more viable option may be to use another behind the R1 as an wireless access point.
3.I'm not sure if 1 on 1 phone support is provided but the router is really easy to setup,there's alot of information on these forums with active users and Netduma staff on hand to help.
4.You may need to log into wan settings of the R1 and set it to dynamic but it should pick it up relatively easily.
