I, too, am frustrated and disappointed by this news. I'm not going to post a wall of text as to why or anything, but I think it's absurd that there are people in this thread who are mocking the people who are frustrated by this to the point of questioning their loyalty to Netduma. It's not fair to belittle customers who are voicing their frustrations.

    Not at all.

When things do go wrong, I explain properly to my clients in good time. I communicate with them, I empathise and try to feel their frustrations. If I don’t get the job done, I don’t get paid, so maybe I’ve got to be better?

What I don’t do, is tell them something is wrong, give a vague reason, set a vague deadline, then go into hiding.

I do mate, and if I treated my paying clients the way this lot are treating us, I probably wouldn't have a business left.

Even if I didn't, it wouldn't matter. The point is that at the most basic level of customer service, you behave in a manner that's respectful to your customers. That isn't happening here.

All the nonsense about not complaining is mainly from people who just want to make themselves look good. Every single one of us has a right to feel frustrated, in the same way that we have the right to feel pleased or in some cases, euphoric about the R1. I have the right to feel frustrated, you have the right to be apathetic, you own your feelings, and I'll own mine.

There's a huge lack of communication from the devs, and the whole team are incapable of empathy or understanding why people may feel frustrated.

I disagree with you.  I think NetDuma would absolutely purposely lie to the Duma Army.  The reason I come to this conclusion is the fact that they waited 1 day prior to the launch of DumaOS on the R1 to delay it.  You, the moderators and everyone else who can be reasonable has to understand that this issue did not prop up on April 16th 2018.  I refuse to believe that supposedly this got overlooked until the day of the launch.  Also if that is the case I am sure same was required when they launched with NetGear XR500 backwards compatibility etc.  That was 2 months a go now I believe correct me if I am wrong * I could be wrong about when the XR500 launched*.  With all that said I believe they knew in advance but they bought themselves time and hoped they could fix it.  They couldn't fix it so they delayed on the day of the launch.  I would be less upset if they just said 2 weeks a go we need more time but no they do it on the last day.  Also they didn't delay it to a specific date they simply said its delayed at most is a few weeks.  What is a few weeks?  It was delayed in 2016 to 2018.  Private beta apparently happened for the DumaOS but never did the Public Beta.  They never said Public Beta would not have taken place.

I also signed up for e-mail notifications about the DumaOS on their site and never once did i get an e-mail about anything period.  So yes I believe NetDuma has purposely lied to us and will continue.   This is just my opinion and conclusion I have come to.  Personally I hope I am wrong because I want NetDuma to succeed but I also want to hold them accountable to if nothing else but their own DAMN timetable/schedules.

    Thank You

This is a sad day even though I fully understand it is incredibly hard to reach deadlines, but if you set deadlines (make promises) for your community to see and you fail 3/4 times in a row to reach that deadline, how can you even come up with the idea to announce yet again another delay an hour before the promised last and final DEADLINE! Plus I think that your excuse makes no sense, no sense at all. I like the Netduma R1 because it can do things other routers can't, but I have to tell you this, I directly bought the XR500 when it came out and the Netduma OS running on it is buggy as hell, it's terrible, so to a point, I already knew this was going to happen. I mean the Netduma R1 is built on inferior hardware compared to the XR500 and on the XR500, the Netduma OS is already running as a sack of shit, it's full of bugs and glitches and should have never been released in its current state. So I send it back and stayed true to my Netduma R1 that now became obsolete.

If I had the choice to buy a router from another brand that could do the same things as the Netduma, I would have left you guys, today. Because a promise is a promise an excuse an excuse but you don't delay something a 1 hour before the deadline and get away with a phoney statement that makes no ..... sense. Where are all the Admins now, I only see the customers, GG you are playing Netduma

Ok..so ive been reading every post on this topic today. Firstly for the people who are responding by calling people that are complaining about another broken deadline.. cry babies, you need to grow up. You have to acknowledge that Netduma over the last few years have done themseves no favours. No one forces them to give deadlines but they do, and inevitably fail.
I for one am happy to get the update when it arrives, but to come out with a lame excuse that the lawyers at the last minute decided that the Os has to be backward compatible is to me b*** s****.
The only reason the Os would have to be backward compatible is if Netduma are not 100 percent sure the r1 can fully handle the new Os.
To post last night at 9.38 that the update would be delayed( do lawyers in the uk work at that time of night?). Yes i am dissapointed like a lot of people, not so much about the delay but about leaving it to the last hour and giving us the people that help build this company such a lame excuse.
    Thats my penny worth

So since everyone is venting and pissed off thought I would add my 2 cents. As a community (duma, all of us). I would like to say I have enjoyed all of the very intelligent folks that help me with my issues. I've learned a lot. As far as Netduma goes. They are a small company that I feel is really honest and to be honest they are gamers too. Thats why they invented this software. To make gaming better. For me it has changed the game. I was one of the first ppl to get one. Thanks to SimJC. I really understand that everyone is super pissed because to be honest I was super stoked for this update. To be delayed because of legal bs is super lame. But in todays world I guess you have to really watch your back more than your front. So I guess good things come to those who wait. So that's what I will do! Netduma has giving me no reason to bash them. It will all be okay fellas!!! Peace and hair grease! That is all

I'm sorry that you think that my venting about my frustration here on the forum has to do with anything about my education or how my parents raised me.
I guess you are someone perfect that never got frustrated and cursed someone.
You talk about disrespect, but you don't see that the company that promised 2 years ago an update still not delivered, tell how that is respect for its customers.
You can come here as a knight in shinny armor trying to defend their action, but all you do is come out as a fanboy.

If I have a product and the company does that kind of shit, I hold them responsible for the lack of communications, lack of transparency, excess of bullshit on the motives of delay.
I guess I've been spoiled by companies that actually work professionally and with respect.

As people have pointed out, you actually can't downgrade the firmware now, why would that impact on a newer firmware? Why would they not release the new firmware now and promise an update to enable the downgrade? Why can't you waive that option yourself when you install it?

Sorry but that is bullshit... I can't handle bullshit, right now I was waiting for the software so I can have static routes, something I think every other router have... And my patience runned out.

I was recommending the router for my friends, even though it is not cheap to ship for my country, I told them the company and support was top notch, now I'm ashamed I've did that.

I would just like to point out that every single firmware update on the R1 since its inception has had no backwards compatibility.
Once you updated to a newer firmware, you couldn't go back.
People have gone against Netduma's warnings and updated their R1s to a previous firmware but took a huge risk in bricking the device.
But we were told from the beginning of every new firmware that going back to a previous firmware was not an option.

So this 'backwards compatibility' excuse is just that, an excuse.

Just tell us the R1 can't run well with DUMAOS and be done with it.
    Stop with the excuses already.
