Sgt-Greco got a reaction from Knomax in Nothing works with COD: MW
Hi. here is my 2 cents.
MW is most of all a noob friendly game (Joe Cecot's words, not mine). What makes you think that state-of-the-art routers, snappy ISPs or 1 ms monitors will help ? Personally I think there is no difference at all.
The majority of new players that can't afford this kind of stuff, is Activision's main target group.
Yes. Throttle your bandwidth really hard. You'll probably have a couple of good games until SBMM kicks in to send you back to sweaty lobbies.

Sgt-Greco got a reaction from MrKader in Huge deviation between Ping and Ping Under Load
I've tested almost every Up/Down combination.
Unfortunatelly I can't avoid Ping Under Load = D. My upload is killing me and I can't figure out why.

Sgt-Greco reacted to Netduma Fraser in Huge deviation between Ping and Ping Under Load
You will need to use Congestion Control with Always selected and change the percentages and experiment to see what % brings down the Ping Under Load results the most. It is simulating what the ping would be like if the network was saturated.

Sgt-Greco reacted to Chaiyoabc in For those who combo DDWRT and Netduma, here is recommended setting
More of my stats for those who wanna dig down: https://cod.tracker.gg/modern-warfare/profile/psn/Arc_TJX/mp/matches
I have been using this setting for hours. and the result is good so I wanna share this.
at first you need to configure your QoS on DDWRT. Please see the following
Use 25% of your ISP Speed Package. I have 1000/100 package, so I throttle total bandwidth to about 250/25
Now use this formula
Total Throttled BW / Number of Devices connected to DDWRT (BW divided by no. of devices, both lan and wireless)
In my case, it is 250/17 = about 13-14mb download
and 25/17 = about 1.4 upload.
Now you have to set each device to have X download and Upload (Based on formula above)
for me I don't bother setting each device because i have 14 devices connected to my DDWRT. So I just have 'Enable per user default Units' box checked. So ideally each devices at my house will have bandwidth of 14/1.4 speed
And that's it for QOS setting for DDWRT
Now you go to make sure UPNP is enabled in DDWRT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for Netduma, since I need its Geo-Filter feature, so in its QOS page, do as following
- UPNP Off
- Disable QoS - If you do this, anti bufferbloat, flower graph and traffic prioritization will not be working anymore.
And that's it

I know a few things. How can I do that without a ssh access?

Sgt-Greco got a reaction from N3CR0 in Caddy 1.2
I'll try to explain my gaming experience with my limited English vocabulary...
With DUMA OS I feel tense and I find myself gripping my controler harder than usual, getting ready for the imminent gunfight which I'm almost certain I'm about to lose.
On the other hand with OpenWRT the game feels like it "flows" better and I can obtain a momentum easier. I'm not saying I'm kicking ass with OpenWRT as I am a mediocre player. But at least I have a good feeling at the end that I did the best I could.
I'm afraid I can't explain it better.....

OpenWRT is what I'll be turning to next as I'm having 0 luck with DumaOS. Someone can be in my face and I hipfire with a laser... hitmarker after hitmarker and they melt me like I'm not even firing. Yet when someone hipfires me... I drop faster than I can blink.
I did have a brief play with OpenWRT (plugging my console into OpenWRT router) and noticed people drop alot quicker than with DumaOS... but if I plug console into Duma, disable BB and just use OpenWRT SQM... peoples take forever to drop.
I always found OpenWRT was much better with Black Ops 4 also.

Sgt-Greco got a reaction from N3CR0 in Worst. Patch. Ever...
I know this is an unpopular comment but I like this game.
Ppl tend to like the games that their good at and I understand it. You can't like a game when your butt is constantly kicked, unless you are a moron.
Devs have made huge mistakes. No doubt. They have screwed mini map, dead silence, prestige system, map voting and so on. You don't touch things that are not broken or no one ever complained about. But the community is also responsible for the all this negativity. Campers with claymors, RPGs fired at the flags, shotguns in corridors etc.
Anyway, I try to avoid TDM as much as I can and I only play Hardpoint/Headquarters using flanking routes. This is my way to avoid all the crap above. And I'm having fun...

Sgt-Greco reacted to Knomax in Gaming Hardware and Settings - Controllers, Headsets, Monitors, Router/s
Just to know guys..😃
Version 1.3.3 Works without problem in R1 via VirtualBox with Windows 7 Ultimate under MXLinux.
**Main router is TP_Link with DD-WRT...QOS... Cake+HFSC....Services Priority...ports 30000-60000 at Maximum.
**R1 in TP_Link's DMZ....i give static IP to R1 outside TP_Link's DHCP Server range.
Big thanks to @RedBull2k

@RedBull2k Is it possible to have a version that runs under linux????Like etc. priority.sh or have the code to run as custom script via dd-wrt?

Hey Alex.
A brand new 18POW just arrived but again, no luck. Just sent an email describing the problem and asking for my options.
Best regards....

Sgt-Greco got a reaction from N3CR0 in Openwrt
Cake no. It has SFQ, codel and fq_codel.
In OpenWRT, SQM is not embedded in the firmware once you install it. You have to manualy download it as an extra script from the OpenWRT's database.
It's true that OpenWRT is now more resource demanding thus your machine will suffer.
Also keep in mind that OpenWRT will not provide you (by default) throttling or priority per IP so you have to achieve it with custom comands, something very difficult unless you are good with linux and networking. I'm not, so I try to avoid it.
Cake is more like a fair share of bandwidth to all devices. But as a gamer I assume you don't care about Bandwidth Fairness and Network Democracy but Strict Dictatorship 😊, right? It's me and all the other stuff.
For all of the above reasons, I'd suggest DD-WRT. Light and easy. Here is an emulator if you want to play around.
Best of luck

Sgt-Greco reacted to PUBzZz in So bo4 came and wentw w/o fixes now MW is here...
It amazes me year after year on this forum if anyone says anything negative about the duma not working a gang of people attack them. Every paying customer has a right to their opinion positive or negative. Let the man voice his concerns and let the moderators get him some answers. Jumping in and saying "My duma works fine" doesn't do him any good now does it? Attacking him doesn't help the issue either. It just makes the Netduma forums look bad.
Also if you jump in offer some advice and he doesn't accept it then move along. You tried leave it at that. You staying here and fighting is what's wrong with this forum. You don't work for Netduma. His issue is with the Netduma Product not you. Let the Netduma employees help him because that's what he was trying to do in the first place.

Ah yes, truly respective and I would definitely jump in. Only problem, no disk. I had purchased the disk way back and no longer have it due to the infamous GameStop strategy. Good times in AW. Always loved how it felt to thrust uppercut into oblivion.

Hey.
I'm sure you are all familiar with this screen
Well, this is from an Advanced Warfare game session. I'm back into this game and I'm having a blast.
AW is fully hybrid as we speak (Dedicated Servers and P2P) and this is why -at this moment- this router shines. There is no way I could force P2P without it.
I'm under the impression that newer COD games will assign you the best Dedicated Server for your region by default. Plus, hybrid matchmaking is not a option.
Jump into a AW game, squeeze Geo Filter around you and see for yourself.
Have fun.
