Goodput doesn't really do much except ensure that speedtests read more accurately so it's really up to you as to whether you want to enable it or not, it won't make a difference to your gameplay experience or wider connection quality other than maybe slightly increasing your perceived speeds

Oh okay, thanks for the explaining 🙂 gonna just do some test with it on and off

  2. I’m just wondering I’ve had goodput disabled without even realizing for a while and I’m wondering should I have that back on? I have QoS disabled from the 3 lines, my internet plan is 1000/750 I have my numbers on 1000/1000

I've been unable to reproduce it, can you provide the exact steps and exactly what happens please?

My apologies it’s working now, it was probably something on my end!

Are you on Android or iOS? Presumably you're not seeing the same issue in the DumaOS interface on a PC?

I’m on iOS and no when I do it on my pc it works fine

You don't necessarily need to put the PS in the DMZ of the R2 as you should be able to get an open NAT otherwise - some people don't like putting the console in the DMZ due to it being a security risk

Also the spanning tree protocol (STP) is also disabled is that good?

Is the second screenshot from the router the R2 is connected to? Did they put the R2 WAN IP in its DMZ?

If yes to both, enable Allow Ping on the R2, reboot from the interface and see if it works.

Yes so he put the wan ip of the R2 into the advanced DMZ of my home hub, he put my PS5 IP into the R2s DMZ so I get open nat and I just enabled the setting you said and rebooted so hopefully it works, thanks!

  7. This is kinda off topic but I wasn’t really sure where to ask this so I’m sorry In advance but

if I turn off the WiFi on my home hub 3000 just to test how things would work, I have 2-3 TV boxes connected via WPS set up (I have bell fibe TV with bell fiber) I was wondering if I turn off WiFi would that also disconnect the TVs or would I be fine with the TVs staying connected to the hub and only using the R2 for WiFi

If you're only potential reason for upgrading is due to the PS5 and you don't play via WiFi then there is no need at all. Both should be able to hit close to 1000Mbps but gaming uses less than 1Mbps!

    Perfect thank you 🙂

  9. I have a netduma R2 I was wondering for LAN at least on PS5 would there be a huge difference between the R2 and XR500? Would it be worth the switch? What’s the max speeds both can get? Thank you for the help ahead of time

  10. I was wondering if someone is inside my geo filter radius gets a better connection to me or the server I’m on if I am host or it’s just for me and who I can connect too and serves I can connect too

Does it not keep the connection alive between games?

Sorry for the late reply, but yes. Whenever I disable geo so I can join the server they are playing on or near shows up and it stays until I restart the game and it feels like I’m not using my server at all

What the ping of the server you usually play on? Is it below 20?

If not, what about if you set your radius really small and put it out in the middle of the ocean, then set ping assist to 20 or so, can you now play on this server?

I usually play around 21 and below, I have my radius around the Chicago server As that’s really   Worked for me as being in Canada really sucks for cod wise, and I play custom games a lot for competitive so when I join someone else it always puts me on their servers and after I leave it’s stuck on my geo filter until I restart it’s really weird

The XR500 doesn't have any modem functionality so you will still need your modem in the network, you'll just need to either put it in modem/bridge mode or just DMZ the XR500 and disable the modem's Wi-Fi if applicable.

Ahh I see, I have my R2 in the home hubs DMZ so I’ll probably just stick with it until I need a new router

OK, it could be slightly out of place then. Still, 17ms is a great connection if you can play on it! If you expand your radius a little more can you find it?

I had it pretty big where I show up on geo filter whenever I start my console, that server or whatever is basically directly next to me, I restarted my game 4-5 times and it never showed up even with filtering on and off

Where abouts are you located? Does 17 ping seem right for a server in that location in relation to where you are? It's possible there's a new server!

I put my circle around it and the server never popped up and for a server that close to me I’d expect 1ms ping lol so I assume it’s just a glitch
