kgrm got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Internet cuts out periodically
My R2 has been stabled for the last 10 days, and this is my setup:
I play Warzone on PS5, QoS "always" enabled (download and upload set as 70%), Adblocker ON using only a URL adblock list, Benchmark off,  DMZ configured on my ISP modem, static IP on the WAN, 168 hours DHCP configured, ping heatmap scheduled every 2hrs.
Where I live the average temperature is 23-27 Celsius, when I started seeing the R2 freezes I tried to found a pattern and I discover that it was when the QoS was enabled and I was uploading traffic but the issue it not started immediately, it happened after 1 or 2hours of upload traffic and when I went to reset doing the power-cycle the R2 was pretty hot so for the reason I focused on the temperature and since I took actions on that my R2 has been stabled for the last 10 days.

Try to cold it down by installing it in another place fresher or install it a fan temporarily, I have been doing tests and it looks the issue is related to high temperature.

@kgrm That's quite a cool experiment you've got going on there! Thanks for doing this and please do let us know the results, it's very interesting and of course we'd really like to resolve this as quickly as we can.

Give it a go! See if you can orient/raise the R2 in a way that maybe it gets a little more airflow?

    Hi forum,
To keep update this post, the last status is that R2 remains stable with the QoS disabled:

This weekend I'm going to enable the QoS feature in order to re-confirm if is the QoS the problem, keep you posted.

Actually I think the problem is the QoS, with the QoS enabled the router stop working after one or two hours and with the QoS disabled I have 24hrs uploading and the router remains stable.

I started upload traffic with the QoS enabled and an hour later the R2 stopped working, I rebooted the R2 doing the power cycle.

Now my plan is to upload traffic with the QoS feature disabled.
    Keep you posted.

ok, the router has been stable for the last 24hrs:

The first test prior to upload traffic this Monday is enable again the QoS.

    Keep you posted.

We will get that sorted, meanwhile draw a polygon around that server so you can connect to it

Yes they will need to be correctly located - they won't all be in that location, we're looking at that currently. We're using a new tool to correctly locate servers but it is the first time we're using it so will need a few tweaks and then hopefully over the week you'll see this update and be more accurate.

We don't use tracert, we intercept with game data in order to get a response.

Good question. CoD no longer responds to traditional pings so we have to do something clever in order for us to get a ping response - it won't be possible for you to ping them manually using cmd for example.

Hey all, hope you’re doing well.
Here’s the latest firmware update for the R2 – 3.0.205 (Sounds great, right?)
Nothing huge - but it welcomes several stability, security and general cosmetic improvements to your R2.
We recommend you make the upgrade and do a full factory reset afterwards, just to make sure you're starting from a clean slate!
You can go ahead and download it here:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/49gt1wxva9rxame/DumaOS-R2-3.0.205.sig?dl=0
Those that have an R2 on pre-order, rest assured that it will come with this latest firmware pre-installed - if you have any issues or queries, just give us a shout!
For the techies amongst you, here's a more detailed change log:
System-wide GUI improvements to both cosmetics and Security Increased DHCP cache size to 10000, stopping DHCP from being filled by 1500 requests Improved Traffic Prioritisation for wireless devices Fixed occasional issue where IPv6 devices weren't assigned DHCP IPs DumaOS webserver fixes for improving operating smoothness of GUI Improved DPI detection services Improved Bandwidth Allocation backend

kgrm reacted to pmg in Geo-Filter not working
Also having issues with geo filter not working as it once did ... noticed it particulary fifa 21 ps5 where I'm getting odd things like playing ping assisted players outside of my polygon region even though my ping assist is 0 and generally bad connections of say 70 plus ping no matter how small I set polygon region or distance duma doesnt seem to be working with that game on ps5.Black ops and  Warzone seem to have less issues although warzone does still put me in higher ping servers than I would like most of the time.
At one point in time the geo filter might cause me to wait a very long time to get a game but at least it was then a good connection , now thats less of an issue but I'm not getting the guaranteed low ping connection either.Has the strictness changed in duma os of it following the distance /polygon selection?
I'm also london based , it all could be coincidence but something does seem to have changed ( main thing thats changed my end is going from ps4 to ps5).... I'm close to doing a factory reset and trying possibly earlier firmwares if they are available to see if that changes gets me back to when this worked best for me.

OK Great, thanks for letting us know.
As Fraser said, this is something we'll be looking to implement at some stage, in the meantime the best thing would probably be to screenshot the configuration you've got or note them down in a text file so you can paste the addresses back in if you ever have to factory reset.
