Won't be long now, just doing some final bits then it'll be tested and then we should be able to get it out

It could be the warmth, if you elevate it so it has plenty of airflow does the issues reduce?

    Hi Fraser:
I'm going to enumerate my issues:
1- See how I need to have the GeoFilter configured because your updates are not accurate (the little square is where is a lot of FL servers):
Thank God the Matchmaking server of CoD does a great job and I always connect to servers between 55ms and 90ms because right now the GeoFilter is useless because you don't update geography speaking the servers correctly ( I have tested and I played with and without Netduma) and the feel is the same, I connect to the same servers (55-90ms). And this is the main feature of Netduma and you dont keep it update correctly.

2- I cannot trust 100% of ping assist because sometimes I connect to servers with 50-60ms (in game) but Netduma says the connection to that server is 80-90ms.
    3- Wifi works awful.
4- I need to restart the R2 manually every Sunday because the GeoFilter map crash later if I don't reboot it. (it happened 4 times).
5- I cannot monitor the bandwidth per user or application usage per month because the SNMP or other protocol to monitor is disabled and I have been asking for the "Data History" Rapp for months but always the answer is the same: "we are working on this".
6- I cannot download the App in Android and is still in "Alpha" version.
But you as company prefer to create Youtube videos and Giveaways than resolve the issues (updates more often) or keep the Geofilter updated.
My plan is to play with the GeoFilter disabled and if I still keep getting servers between 55 and 90ms I'm going to shutdown the R2 and buy a router that I can monitor my BW per month.
    Cheers.

That would be great thanks, I'll then pass that onto Alex and he'll update it Was the ping on the Geo-Filter fluctuating a lot on that one? Great! If you can take a screenshot of that next time you see it that would be helpful They don't offer the gaming features we have though which is the purpose of the router, we are making features like Data History which don't necessarily help gaming but as such they're not a standard feature Great!

To be fair regarding point 5, monitoring devices and the info they handle is a struggle on most routers that offer this. Might be fine if you are using an enterprise router with or without licences but many are not 100% accurate and most home routers if powered off or suffer a power loss will lose that info.
I don’t trust my Unifi as it clearly does not accurately record all the information even with all its detailed structure.

it’s handy to see issues or what type of data is being accessed but it should be as a rough guide and once it gets detailed it’s going to start to use more memory and again there are limits for home routers.

    To answer your points:
Give me the IPs of those specific servers and I'll get them moved for the next update How many icons are shown on the Geo-Filter Map when that happens? Setting the antennae like _ | | _ can improve the range, also ensure no wireless/electrical devices are in close proximity as that can interfere with the signal What do you mean it crashes exactly, do you get an error? Data History is a massive feature, I'm glad you're looking forward to it but it's not something we can rush out. Especially as some people have data caps on their internet, if we calculate this incorrectly people could be charged heavily by their ISP if they believe they're still within their limit. That's not the reason you're not able to download it from the Google Store on Android, it was due to an error that the Google Store flagged it and took it down. As of today it is back up and you can download it again. The marketing guys do the videos and giveaways, we can have them coding but that would slow everything down and cause more issues - the devs only work on development and do so every day, the company itself is able to multi-task.

The kernel gap value is higher than it should be there. A few users have found correlation between the heat of the router and issues like this. Make sure the router is elevated and has good airflow, if possible pointing a small fan towards it could help. I'm confident that will reduce the frequency of the issue

@Netduma Fraser Okay so I've set it up 4 days ago and it has not disconnected since, but there's really no difference in speed. Before all this my ping was at around 30ms, then after the disconnection happened I'm having over 70ms ping and it's affecting the gameplay so I setup the R2 (sitting on top of a fan cover and the fan is also blowing it so it won't overheat when I turn on the QoS and it still has not, but my ping is still around 70ms and sometimes spikes up to 130ms. Btw the game I'm playing is League of Legends Wild rift it's a mobile game. But like I said before the issues happened my ping was at 30ms.

kgrm reacted to Netduma Fraser in This kind of behavior kills the "ping assist" feature
That's odd, the Ping Heatmap ping does show the same ping as the Geo-Filter. How many icons were on the map at the time? May be that it was pinging a different server by mistake. Yes that would be a great addition, I think we're focusing on tools to actually make it more automatic and accurate so no one has to do it.

Okay I took the front cover of the mini fan and placed it under the R2 so there's some kind of vent going on there. The problem is the fan is not working anymore, but I hope the front cover of the mini fan would work.

Thank you! I am currently looking for a fan for my R2. So to confirm one last time, QoS can overheat and cause the R2 to disconnect?

Please take a look this example:
Right now I'm using QoS to rate-limit the traffic to 60mbps for download and 10mbps for upload and I set a couple of rules of traffic prioritization for the "Microsoft teams" and please notice the CPU, the average utilization is 35-40%:

And please check the temperature, right now is at 49.2 C degrees and is still incrementing and I started download and upload traffic at 11:21am when the temperature was in 47.8

For this reason, is important to keep the R2 in a place fresher if you want to use the QoS.
Wednesday and Thursday I did not stress the QoS and the higher temperature was 48 C degrees:

    Cheers.

I agree with Fraser, from software perspective the QoS works great but the CPU works more and this means the temperature grows, it is important to keep the R2 fresher if you want to have the QoS enabled.

After all the testing I have done.

I have concluded Duma OS classified is the BEST option.

Duma OS classified uses DPI to detect UDP traffic. I believe this is the lowest latency detection wise for that gaming traffic. Delete any other rules you may have, and use the Duma OS classified. TRUST ME.

The reason I say this is because the port based services and even manually entry add more latency IMO.

I have the xr1000 and I promise you, this is the best option. I will test the R2 later this weekend and report back.

kgrm reacted to Netduma Fraser in Heatmap - Where are the UK servers for COD ? and why so many failures
The Geo-Filter will show active connections regardless, the cloud database just determines whether those connections are:
Located correctly Whitelisted Classed as Peer or Dedicated So even if it was hugely outdated you can definitely still use Ping Assist to get the lowest ping servers.

Keep us posted on that, also another user found there seems to be a correlation with how hot the router gets and disconnections, not sure where you're located but it's getting very hot in the UK now. Try to ensure it's not on a surface where it could overheat and make sure it has plenty of air flow. If you get a disconnection see how hot it is

After a week of monitor the R2 temperature from the "outside" this is how looks, If there is a difference of 4 C degrees when the R2 is "standby" and when is "stressed" from outside I cannot imagine how many C degrees is on the CPU inside.
