8x4 can do 343 Mbps down and 131 Mbps up... There's no need for anything more on a 100/10 plan.

    Yeah ONLY 8x4... That's enough.

TC-7610 is the only modem I'd ever recommend.

You probably had your PC in hyperlane while testing, which is only meant for low bandwidth traffic such as gaming... Take your PC out of hyperlane, reset the distribution and make sure share excess is checked

    Then recheck your bufferbloat.

I can get A+ at 70% most of the time but that site is also unreliable because if your computer can't handle running it then it will show ping spikes that aren't actually there. The best way to test is using pingplotter or command prompt ping while downloading/uploading and watch the ping yourself. For me, the same settings will always give a different result on that site.

That's not an official list, but the TP-Link TC-7610 will work with 100/10 speeds from Charter

In the PS4 that your son uses go to the DNS section and add

    First 208.67.222.123
    Secondary 208.67.220.123

    Then reboot the console.

These are OpenDNS FamilyShield DNS servers and are great for blocking adult websites.

It's DSL so you're gonna have to really make use of congestion control because if anyone does anything in your house while you're playing you will lag. Generally DSL has amazing ping though

Yeah so like I just said the TC-7610 is the best modem for speeds up to 100 Mbps.
It can do over 300 Mbps but for whatever reason they won’t approve it for more than 100.

My 20 year old Linksys WRT54G router can show hidden WiFi networks with a site scan. Hell my printer picks up hidden WiFi networks lol

Literally provides no security. I have many devices which show hidden networks as well as apps that can do the same.

The one above... But they will only allow it for speeds up to 100 Mbps

Honestly I don't know why some ppl are frickin whining about duma os and not getting it until April. Dudes we are getting this state art software for FREE. You don't get anything for FREE anymore. I for sure can wait another 3 months for that. I already have a netgear nighthawk router. I'm not buying another one. The Duma changed the game for me. I really only play cod. But seriously I was one of the first ppl to own one and I pretty stoked that duma made it big time and I was part of it. Thanks for everything duma team and all the nice folks that help my dumb ass out when I can't figure something out with the router. Just my 2 cents

It's funny hearing everyone complain here, but I guarantee they buy a new smart phone every year without questioning it.

    Hardware changes, get over it.

The R1 will still be better because it won't have any influence from Netgear making the final say in the product.

You forget that the whole point of DumaOS was to make a solid base operating system, which can be built on top of and customized to what we wanted.

It's just my opinion looney, if you didn't have any issues with the Arris then that's great.I just know that a lot of people did and still do.It's really hard to beat the TP Link TC - 7610 for the price and more importantly the functionality of it, lots of people shy away from it IMO due to it's low price, they think it's not solid because it doesn't cost 150 plus dollars.

I wouldn't buy anything with the Puma Intel Chipset as it's been documented to have issues that you don't want if you're gaming, hell even if your not.If it were me I would send the Arris back and pick up the TP Link TC - 7610 on Amazon, they are really priced well and I know for a fact in my setup makes a huge difference in the spikes and stability on my Spectrum line.

I'm not in anyway telling you what to do looney, we've known each other for awhile now.I still remember you hosting the lag comp testing FFA games.I'm just simply giving you my opinions on question you asked.

Best of luck in what ever you decide...

As far as I can remember Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10 all got a RTM version and was released pre-installed on PCs well before the public had access to download the OS legally from Microsoft.

Also, nobody promised anyone anything besides free updates. You're getting a free update when it's ready.

They actually do that exact thing. Typically computer manufactures get access to new versions of windows to implement into their systems before it is available to the public to purchase/download.

First nobody is making you buy a new router, this one works perfectly fine.

To answer your questions, I doubt Netgear will get all the features that the R1 gets and if it does they will be delayed because they have to go through the proper Netgear handles first.

Support would be all from Netgear I would assume.
