We're sorry that you're having issues, and I can assure you there will be a new update. I know that they were doing some final testing for the new update recently so I imagine it will be soon, but I don't know exactly when.

I realize this update is quite small, but the changelog isn't exhaustive, and we do have big updates on the way.
Keep an eye out next week because we're planning a blog post that will reveal some exciting information about our plans for the next milestone.

@Buckeye Purple I figured as much. I do see those prediction symbols and pisses me off and teleporting enemies. I know Respawn has shit servers and codes but you'd think months go by they would fix it.

I don't want Mexico in my radius either. It be better if geofilter had an option for country instead of a big ol circle honestly. I wanted to use it more as a region filter when I bought the router.
But yea, weird how sfv confused the ping assist. Sfv server shouldn't be any different than any other game server, or even steam. Perhaps the cross play is the difference here.

The firmware in question is now available to all. Details are here: https://kb.netgear.com/000061157/XR500-Firmware-Version-2-3-2-56
I'm going to close this thread now, since it now has no purpose.

Go to Nord's website and you can find their DNS server addresses they use. Put them into the DNS section of your router and you are good to go.

The thing is just that the ISP can't always help it.

I am in the Netherlands at the moment playing on my 250/25 cable connection and normally I connect to Vultr in Amsterdam. Today though I had a unknown host designated as peer.

Turns out this is Internap cloud services in Amsterdam. I had some ping spikes and I ran a pingplotter log out of curiosity. As you can see on the picture, the actual bufferbloat occurs on the Internap Corporation network. Also there is another carrier between my ISP and Internap and that is Cogentco. When I connect to Choopa/Vultr that is not there. Instead its ISP -> NTT -> Vultr.

So a 2 different game servers in the same city with a totally different routing.

Some ISP's might specialize in low latency for gaming but if the backbone that they use has one bad hop it can already screw you over.

It's annoying when the problem occurs externally because there's nothing the router can do.
I think there are some ISPs that are specifically aimed at gaming, supposedly they route your packets in the quickest possible way instead of the most cost effective as most ISPs do. I don't know how effective it is, i've not tried.

I'm pretty sure that your router can't affect the route that your connection takes to get to its destination, at least not outside of your property. That's kind of dependant on your ISP.
The Geo-Filter can only block connections to servers, fooling the game into thinking that server is unavailable, thus forcing the game to use one that's closer to you.
Destiny 2 has a lot of unusual stuff going on with their servers, sometimes meaning that Geo-Filter cannot block a distant opponent because that opponent is being routed through a dedicated server near to you. Obviously blocking this server would also block access to all game services. This is one of the problems with "live service games", as they cannot trust you to make pure peer to peer connections because data on leveling, gear and microtransactions is stored in the server rather than on your machine.

Thanks guys for taking the time to contribute.
Yeah I spoke with Leet and Ghost so far. Leet were very friendly and very responsive, even sent me some real world data reflecting the level of quality that users near me were getting. Very keen to help and answer questions. They have several options regarding backhaul options with the most interesting being Vodaphone who are aiming to deliver something based on 5g (I assume FWA)..
Yeah Ghost were good to talk to and apparently they do have a working relationship with AAISP (Ghost MD and either Arnold or Andrew also know each other quite well on a personal level. Right now this is who I am leaning towards.
I will speak to iDNEt on Monday. I'm still a couple of months away but given the "speed" the sector is moving things are changing rapidly and I want to take the time to really make an informed decision.
Gigaclear is not an option as they have nothing down my way..

I’ve got Fiber 300/300 so “even if” my wife is watching Netflix, which is at most the only other thing going on, it wouldn’t even scratch the surface. That’s why I don’t feel I need the CC, Switch or any type of QOS at this time......even you guys at Duma say I don’t need it, since original firmware would have me use Super Turbo Mode and disable it for my speeds, only relying on geo. I was just asking / verifying that if I have a solid & stable line (low to no jitter) & a low ping, that in “theory” my gameplay should be superb? Since a stable line & low ping connection is what the Duma is trying to accomplish. I’m just tired of chasing settings if this is as good as it gets. Lol 😂
The main question is does the PingPlotter graph truly reflect gameplay efficiency (ie lag, missing bullets etc)? As much emphasis as we put on trying to get that stable connection, it just seems as though there a lot behind the scenes that we can’t fix
    Hope that makes sense?

Netduma Alex reacted to Heroxoot in Ping Assist problems
The host always appears first in SFV. But the connections are still Peer to peer. They show a symbol before a match starts to confirm p2p or a connection through the server. Generally the host appears for a minute and then peers show on the map. As soon as the game says "time for battle" and the notification pops up to join the match, it goes away. It seemingly only makes players visible to each other. Once two people connect it's gone.
Top is server run and bottom is p2p. P2p is what 99% of matches are for me personally.

Also I tried Tekken 7 instead and it's working kind of. There are a lot of triangles on my geofilter now, all with pings above my assist. It's working fine but none of them ever go away lmao. They stick constantly. In fact it looks as tho all these peers continue to be active until I close the game. But otherwise has functioned as I expected. So SFV seems to be an issue for the geofilter. Very odd to me.
