Been away for a few weeks and haven't checked in, thanks for the response. I've tried multiple cables varying from cat5, cat5e, and cat6. I've done a factory reset, I've tried force updating the firmware to no avail. One thing I did actually notice was when the disconnects do happen, they actually are following a pattern. In Event Viewer when my adapters get disconnected, it's happening every 30 minutes on the dot, even the same seconds, and now I see in the monitoring logs on the router that I'm getting an "Internet Connected" message at the time I lose/regain connection, so now I'm assuming it is happening network wide instead of just my local devices. I'll update this post with a debug log in the next 20 minutes or if you'd prefer I can PM you the logs.

Might be due to lag compensation. If your ping is low, I don't see why this would be happening under normal circumstances. Could be down to jitter I guess?

We'll probably select them from active Insiders. I'm also writing down anybody that requests access, since enthusiasm goes a long way.
Shall I add you to the list? Being on the list isn't a guarantee that you'll get in, it depends on how many people want to participate.

There can be many reasons for this, especially if it's peer hosted.

One is that when DumaOS pings the server you usually don't get a reply from the server, as these don't respond to ICMP ping. So it's reporting the hub just before that.

Two is that same as one, the peer that you ping might not respond to ICMP requests and especially on crappy DSL / Cable connections it takes ping of a ISP hub and real latency to the host is much higher.

Third is that not only you will have higer latency on wifi, but the host might also be playing on wifi and thus further increasing latency.

Forth is that DumaOS measures actual ICMP ping where the game calculates latency via UDP traffic. So these don't necessarily return the same value due to congestion issues etc.

We're going to enter the closed beta phase VERY soon, so I think we'll release the trailer once that's done.
    That's the plan! 😃

Hi and welcome to the forum. To add skype on a particular device on your network to have priority go to QOS and scroll down until you see the traffic prioritization section. Click add device button and add the device then the service you want from the options that pop-up, skype is 1 of those options.

If you are getting the r-app message then clear your browser cache and close browser and retry.

I seem to have sorted my problem 😀
I posted over in the Netgear forum but got no suggestions so I created a ticket. The guy’s in telephone support were good and methodical at trying to resolve the issue but suggested nothing which I hadn’t tried thus far.
I’ve spent many hours trying to get this sorted so I just gave up and decided to suffer the relatively slow transfer speeds...
Then, one day (I’m not trying to make this sound like a story, honest), I was pottering around on the PC and remembered there were some under-the-bonnet settings for my ethernet adapter which I could try. In Windows 10, it is:
Right click Start  Device Manager  Network adapters  Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller  Advanced tab  In the Property list, I selected Speed & Duplex. My Value was on Auto Negotiation. I assumed this was the default setting and it meant my devices would talk to each other and ‘negotiate’ the highest possible speeds. But I tried changing this to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex and clicked OK. Guess what? Yup, speeds with my NAS connected directly to my XR500 went up to a, not too shoddy, 904Mbps down (0.904 Gigabit) and 875 up. Previous readings were 605Mbps down, 215 up.
I then put Speed & Duplex back to Auto Negotiation and my speeds were still high! I presumed it was a driver glitch and looked on t' internet for a more recent driver. My old driver was released 2015 but I found a more recent ‘signed’ one for 2017 and installed that.
What threw me is the fact that when I plugged my NAS directly into the PC, I got great speeds so why would I suspect the driver was to blame? Whether this was Auto Negotiation failing to ‘negotiate’ or not, I have no idea but I now have a shiny new driver installed and speeds are great. The real test was over Wi-Fi - my original dilemma...
Speeds over 5GHz Wi-Fi are now 782Mbps down, 443 up. Previous readings were 400Mbps down, 45 up.
To conclude, Wi-Fi write speeds have increased by almost half a Gig and read speeds are now approaching a Gig! Not bad for Wi-Fi 😎
    The End.

Netduma Alex reacted to EldestTheGreat in DumaOS r1 vs r1 original firmware
A lot of people say the older firmware was better, and maybe with certain connection types and speeds, it is. But I've been messing around the R1 for about a month now and my hit detection was horrible. See them first, react first, bullets hit after I shoot and look away. Lol. So I decided to download the DumaOS on the R1 last nivht. Bullets were connecting instantly but I'm no longer ahead visual on screen. Weird trade off going on but the bullet lag is gone! I also had some high cpu usage when idle so I factory reset the R1, unchecked save settings and unchecked check version, and flashed DumaOS. The CPU went down to like 20-25%. I also disabled the VPN and now it only spikes when I first log into the touter. Overall, much better for my connection type and speed! 👍

Precisely, removing the R1 from the setup removes the error all together UNLESS I put the switch in-between the R1 and modem and have my Xbox use the 2nd public IP address. But that setuo is not really optimal because a switch isn't good at routing and so if someone starts downloading/streaming while I'm gaming off of the switch, ping can spike through the roof. When the network is quiet, it works fine. I upgraded the R1 to the DumaOS last night and so far so good. I'm not sure what version the DumaOS is that I installed last night from the email but I can look when I get home if that helps.

    It's not a firmware update, it's a cloud update.
Cloud updates are downloaded automatically by your router every day. If you want to make sure, you can press the FLUSH CLOUD button on the Geo-Filter.
This will produce an "operation took longer than expected" error, but you can ignore this and refresh the page. Your cloud will now be up to date.

If you look through the BT thread some have had a fix so it’s worth posting on BT form and a mod should hopefully escalate the issue if you think it’s their side. You do seem to have to push them though.

In my view, the only security risk is having DMZ going all the way to a computer. Routers have built in protection against port scanning and such, so having DMZ going to a router specifically shouldn't be a problem.

OMG. It was IPV6. Apparently that was turned on  and I believe DumaOS was trying to connect to IPV6 every so often, which cause the entire router to disconnect, try to connect to IPV6, fail, and the connect back to IPV4.

I turned off IPV6 and not everything is rock steady. I would recommend the logs capture what IPV number it is trying to connect to rather than just say "Connecting" and "Disconnecting". Might help a dummy like me in the future when their router keeps connecting and disconcerting.

    Hello DumaArmy,

We have recently improved our internal tools for managing the Geo-Filter Cloud. Now, it will be much quicker for us to adjust the position of game servers on the map when they are incorrect.

We have published a cloud update containing all of the mislocated servers that have been reported thus far, but we need more! If you connect to a server that you believe has been misplaced on the map, let us know by filling in the form below. The reports will be checked frequently and uploaded to the cloud database after we've verified that they are correct.

We have also added a space on the form for you to add your forum name, if you want. This will enable us to quickly respond to reports from users with a good track record of accurate reporting.

With our improved tools, and the help of the community, we'll be able to make new titles compatible much faster than ever before.
